Eventually, the hyena had to stick around and wait her turn but no, the selfish leopard right infront of the helpless hyena took the rest of the carcas up the tree. The only reason a grown male leopard would avoid fighting a lone hyena is he knows a fight with one will attract the whole clan and that's not worth it

However in real life normal situation in the wild the leopard being smart will want to even engage a hyenafor no reason because its not worth it. This is actually a pretty close battle, I think people don’t give enough credit to hyenas for how strong their bite force is and how powerful they are. I would honestly say 8-10 healthy hyenas could easily take down a male lion but they are too cowardly. That being said one on one it’s really close. If the hyena was more intimidating then cowardly then I might give the edge to the hyena, but leopards are a lot more brave. Either way it’s a very close battle, but I’d say the leopard would win because of how fierce they can be.

I think the odds are quite close. The leopard is clearly more agile, and has stronger paws and much sharper claws; whereas the hyena has mush stronger bite force, is more intelligent, and has better stamina (can keep up the fight for a longer time).
Hyenas have been nemesis to lions since long. So there's no comparison with Leopards. Heynas have way more powerful bite force than Leopard and more than twice of that of the Lions.

But in case if hyena doesn't get intimidated and aggressively stands ground, then it'd be difficult for leopard to find that killer throat bite. If fight occurre with both going aggressive against each other then Leopard needs to avoid every hyena's bite because one critical bite can crack it's leg and it'd be unable to fight. On Hyena's side, it needs to cover/guard it's throat because once leopard gets proper hold on a throat then it's over. I think the fight can go either way.

In a 1v1 leopard wins certainly, but lets be real here in the wild hyenas live in very large groups and would normally destroy leopards. Realistic fights I'd say hyenas win 99% of the time, even 2 hyenas is enough to completely 180 the fight. Even in a 1 on 1 leopards normally run anyways because they have to be more careful about the damage they take because they dont have a clan to back them up if they get hurt. Leopard also normally go for the neck and I feel like hyenas have very big, muscular necks to it would prob be hard to just choak it out.

Cats not only use their forward paws, they also can inflict immense damage to an opponent by using its rear paws to slash. Finally when the Cats victim is wounded it will use its bite to finish the job.

This is actually a pretty close battle, I think people don’t give enough credit to hyenas for how strong their bite force is and how powerful they are. I would honestly say 8-10 healthy hyenas could easily take down a male lion but they are too cowardly. That being said one on one it’s really close. If the hyena was more intimidating then cowardly then I might give the edge to the hyena, but leopards are a lot more brave. Either way it’s a very close battle, but I’d say the leopard would win because of how fierce they can be.
I have seen 8 to 10 Hyena fight a lion and that is still not a win for a Hyena. 2 lions can take 20 Hyena.
Hyenas will fight a lioness with at least a 3 to 1 advantage but they won't fight a mature male lion without a 20 to 1 advantage and even then will most likely avoid him because he's going to destroy the first one he can get to. 20 humans could possibly defeat a Silverback gorilla but who wants to be the first one in?

I think the odds are quite close. The leopard is clearly more agile, and has stronger paws and much sharper claws; whereas the hyena has mush stronger bite force, is more intelligent, and has better stamina (can keep up the fight for a longer time).

I think you forgot that a hyena's only weapon is its Jaws while leopard has great reflexes thus it can dodge the bite and leopards have a strong bite force, sharper teeth, strong paw swipe and a very sharp claws, leopards are even more aggressive and fearless that is why they are most likely to be serial maneaters.

But in case if hyena doesn't get intimidated and aggressively stands ground, then it'd be difficult for leopard to find that killer throat bite. If fight occurre with both going aggressive against each other then Leopard needs to avoid every hyena's bite because one critical bite can crack it's leg and it'd be unable to fight. On Hyena's side, it needs to cover/guard it's throat because once leopard gets proper hold on a throat then it's over. I think the fight can go either way.

In a 1v1 leopard wins certainly, but lets be real here in the wild hyenas live in very large groups and would normally destroy leopards. Realistic fights I'd say hyenas win 99% of the time, even 2 hyenas is enough to completely 180 the fight. Even in a 1 on 1 leopards normally run anyways because they have to be more careful about the damage they take because they dont have a clan to back them up if they get hurt. Leopard also normally go for the neck and I feel like hyenas have very big, muscular necks to it would prob be hard to just choak it out.

Cats not only use their forward paws, they also can inflict immense damage to an opponent by using its rear paws to slash. I have seen many videos that leopard has to back off when a hyena approachs to leopard's prey. To lose a prey is a big insulting for a hunter.That's because Lions don't let hyenas to eat the remain of the carcass although they are full of stomach . Hyena is one of the most strongest animal which is hard to kill one on one. In cat's family,I think only lion,tiger and jaguar can kill a hyena.

@@ArifHossain-jv4zp I know what I am saying. If leopard can carry it's prey up to tree,then leopard can enjoy it's meal.but if hyena catches the leopard on the ground ,too late for leopard.
The leopard leaves because they know there are more hyenas from where that one came from.

I agree that 1 on 1 the Leopard would have a clear advantage. Too many weapons, faster and more athletic, to go with that clever brain. If there's more than one, the Leopard will bolt and climb a tree to survive.
