    The scariest part of this video is how long the leopard was standing there staring at the dog. The dog didn't even sense the leopard's presence. Leopards are true hunters. The element of surprise is everything, especially when your prey is bigger than you, or as big as you.

    Jackie is the dogs name and although it may seem like he died there he didn’t, in fact he recovered very very fast and actually had a high chance of surviving since the leopard didn’t bite him in the neck and actually bit his shoulder. The leopard did leave some deep wounds all around him, but he received all the treatment and medication he needed and now he is caught playing and running around chasing birds !! I can finally live my life happily knowing that he survived and living a great life!

      Walked in the forest when a fox came across our path. 2m distance. I spot it suddenly then, the fox spots us lets out a silent scream and turns around and runs for dear life. My dog was the last one to notice. No bushes, no tall grass, broad daylight and i the human was the first one to notice. Music at full volume and walking normally. It was embarrassing for all parties involved...

      I just watched it on 0,25x speed. It was that really tiny, almost hard to see, head movement of Jackie that triggered the evil great cat to attack him and it made me wonder if it maybe crossed Jackies’ mind to act like some people act when they encounter a grizzly bear, like pretend to be dead. Maybe Jackie waited for so long for that cat to go away and when he thought he couldn’t hear its’ breath anymore, he wanted to raise his head to check if it’s gone already!

      There have been rare cases of individual leopards specializing in hunting human beings (mostly in India at around the start of the 20th century). In many cases they did so by entering human housing to pick off sleeping people, then getting away unnoticed.
      The male known as the Leopard of Rudraprayag (which killed and ate over 200 people over the course of several years, before being shot) even specialized in killing sleeping people in their own houses. He was good enough at it that he once killed a smoking man sitting in a darkened room, without alerting another man was awake and sitting two feet away.
      THAT is some serious stealth.

    • @housevibez8828
      @housevibez8828 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @kecola Exactly! I was saying the same thing. If you have a cat you can see they are exactly the same, but like you sayd much bigger! Thats why i pay respect to the small cat as if it was a big one, because imagine if the tables turn and suddenly you had a big cat at home, you would also pay respect ;) It was a game to the leopard, he was playing a game, he could have attacked much earlier but he waited until the dog waked up. Maybe he even touched the dog first to wake him up.
      Thats the comment i left before i seen your comment, almost the same!
      They are very sneaky, just like a ghost if they really want to. I had a cat and normally you could hear her walking, but if she wanted to, all of a sudden she stood next to me looking at me just like the big cat in the video. Big cats and small cats are actually the same, they are just a lot bigger and stronger but they act the same!

      How is a leopard's ambush abilities apart from tigers and jaguars? The dog is domesticated and doesn't give a damn about smell. You can clearly see shoes at the door, meaning that's an apartment and stairs to go to other floors. If it were one house, slippers and shoes wouldn't be left in the second floor or higher. They'd be left outside at the front door. And because it's an apartment, the dog that sleeps at the door smells all different scents from many people.

    *From a news article:*
    This incident happened at about 4 AM on the morning of October 11, waking-up the owner as he bravely chased down the two to catch the leopard off guard. Thankfully, the wild animal let go of the dog in the chaos and Jackie got a new lease of life. The adorable dog sustained wounds below his neck but luckily escaped the attack pretty much unharmed without any serious injuries.

It was fun for him to wait there for such a long time breathing on the dogs neck and waiting until the dog actually wakes up trying to look at him, only then he attacked!
