Their is no need to dismantle the track rod end, or to take out the driveshaft, just loosen the retaining driveshaft bolt and tap the shaft partially back, this allows the she shaft to stay in situ when the hub drops down, also I didn't see the mechanic align the top strut mount with the bearing and strut , their are marking on all three parts to align them !

Hello, I have volvo v40 r design ( is -10mm lower that normal v40 ) and I need to replacement front springs, Are there any special springs for r design or its the same spring like in normal volvo v40? I cant fing information about that in internet.

Thank you for your valuable clarification, we install the bearing in the upper part of the spring in the center when we screw the nut of the shock absorber rod, it falls into place. AUTODOC

how did you align the bearing on top of the spring, how did you know it was in the right spot?

@@autodocuk Shouldn't you align the "pin marker" of the bearing to the end of the top spring? I read this in a forum.
You tightened up the bolt for the axle 94nm! So wrong it is just 60nm max. I broke my bolt cause of this wrong info😢
