This is why I settled in Scotland many years ago, unfortunately don't ride anymore, but the A68 used to be my favourite trip from Leuchars to Yorkshire and family. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely trip Martyn, I'm not used to the sound of a multi cylinder engine having a single and a V twin but it sounded fruity :) I see you have a magic speedo that blurs above Quixty my RE Himalayan doesn't have one of those but the Vstrom 1000 does :) With all the motorised transport, coffee cake and good eating you'll be needing a humble bicycle to help you shed a few pounds :)
Cheers Sandy, it was not a weekend for dieting or healthy living that’s for sure. However I have been making up for it this weekend on the push bike, check out my personal Facebook page. All the best.
Hi. Stumbled across your video and enjoyed watching it . I’ll be 66 this year and maybe one more bike change next year and that’ll be me done I think. I’ve loved my big engine bikes and currently on my 5th ZZR 1400 but do like the look of the S1000XR. The M series looked the dogs doodars but I read there’s no luggage for it 🤷🏻♂️ May look next year at a newish one with the M kit on it 👍
Cheers for the comment. You can fit luggage to the MXR however requires purchasing parts that would usually fith the S1000XR. For me I prefer to stick with the tail pack for solo riding on small tours like this one, I kept my R1250GS for bigger tours.
@@FenTour the other thing apart from me being 66 at the end of the year is I’m only 5’4” and I hear they don’t do a factory reduced height one or lower seat so maybe I’ll look at the S100XR te instead. Good looking bike though 👍
@@luckyphil6486 It is tall, I have the extra high seat which has more padding and comfort, but I have long legs! The low seat will have much less padding so beware.
Great video. Stumbled across it as the XRM has really taken my fancy. Looking towards next year though. Do you mind me asking how tall you are regards having the higher seat and does it cause you any issues relative to your knee position against the curvature of the tank? Tia.
Nice vid - I’m a new member of the clan and have a 2021 XR. Looking forward to coming to a clan meet. Also the MXR looks the nuts. Is that a BMW helmet? looks great with the bike.
Cheers and welcome to the clan, may see you are one of the rides next year? The helmet is an Arai, just happens to have close to the right colours. Indeed the MXR looks the bollox!
How's the seat on a long ride. I test rode a 2020 XR and found it "challenging" on the rear after an hour, so settled for a GS instead. Love the look of the M XR so very tempted though....
Hi, would you be able to measure the distance between the 2 front brake caliper mount bolts, it should either 108mm or 100mm. I want to get a Roadlok disc lock and it looks like it should be 108mm for Nissin calibers? My MXR is on order so just getting a few bits ready. Cheers Lee
Hello, I wanted to ask you what meleta you have on the XR1000M. Since I don't have standard suitcases, I have doubts about which one to put. Thank you very much and good route.
Great video it looks like you had a ball on your MXR ,did your sat nav freeze up on you ? I’ve had the same problem on my MXR when I went to Assen for the Moto GP in June. Asked my local dealer about it freezing up and they said they not heard of any problems with them . Have you been back to your dealer about the problem? Keep the good videos coming,
It’s not the bike but the nav, does exactly the same on my R1250GS so probably a glitch in the software hopefully an update will sort it at some point but my software is currently up to date. Or are you and I unique with the issue?
Can I ask the insurance premium for that fantastic beast? I Hear that is is ridiculous especially in the south east where I live. I have a feeling even if the outlay for the bike itself is manageable the yearly insurance would make it beyond justifiable, to the GLW at least.
Nice vid 👍🏼 What tour was this? In the group, is it a ‘spirited’ ride? What is someone was not as keen on going at a faster pace, same applies for someone wanting to ride at a more brisk pace? Orderly queue, no overtaking within the group etc? Genuinely interested, thank you
One needs to choose rides that you are comfortable with, this was the TeapotOne Clan weekend, so Patreon members only, most riders in the group are good and relatively fast. For a more chilled out ride I would always suggest a group that does not allow any overtaking, such as we do in the HOG rides, slower and safer in general.
As i use my XR for commute, i need luggage (laptop, ...). I have the 3 panniers, but that is to much. What is the brand/model of the soft luggage U use?
Sorry didn’t make that clear it’s is the nav at fault II think as I had 10 minute stop ,set off again and the nav was still at the services 😂 but can’t fault the bike 👍
Ich liebe deine Videos. Immer tolle Landschaftsbilder und amüsantes Geplauder. Go on!
Vielen Dank!
Glad this popped up! Was my first clan meet - absolutely brilliant weekend.

The roads are so much better there than here en the East of England.
Looka like a fantastic ride! So many incredible, quiet and empty roads in Scotland
It really is!
Its gradually getting full up though. The north was great before the ‘Route’ filled up with sheep.
Great video it was a great weekend glad your home safe 🎉
Cheers Dale, c u at another Clan weekender.

Stunning roads, done them many times on my GSs, but must show them to the present Multi….off to west coast late September😀.
Late September should be perfect, enjoy the trip on the very best of roads.

Brilliant ride, great team, huge massive bikes and a brilliant rout. ..Enjoy.
Please share your handle bar mirrors to buy link.
Cheers, bar mirrors are standard on my bike.
@@FenTour Thank you
You can’t beat Scottish roads, especially when they’re dry! 👍
We were very lucky with the mostly dry weather. Cheers and thanks for commenting.
Is the seat on the mXR deferent for the one on sXR? Such a beautiful bike. Thanks
I optioned the tall seat which is nice and flat, but you need a 34" inside leg!
Is that the Adventure Collection Large Bag (50-60 litres)?
I think so, it is the large bag that is in the configurator.
Hiya are you still on the laviler 2. Sounds great!
This is using a Rode laviler

Very comfortable, but not as good as a GS. As you can see in this vid after 300+ miles my backside was getting fed up! But
@@FenTour thanks. Guess now i just need to arrange a test ride. Could be costly 😂
@@andtip make sure you go out for a long test ride, the standard seat slopes forward so bollox can hit the tank when breaking hard.

OK will take a look when I next wheel the beastie out!

I never realised the M-1000XR was restricted❗️❗️🤣😘

Meleta, do you mean bag?
@@FenTour yes
@ it is the larger bag by BMW for the MXR as in the configurator.
I think it doesn't appear in the configurator in Spain. Can you leave me the link?

creo que en el configurador en España no aparece. ¿ me puedes dejar el enlace ?

Over £500, thats a lot of money considering my other bikes are mostly way less to insure.

A machine that does 170 mph what is the point ?
What is the point of any car or motorbike capable of speeds in excess of the limit?
A bike that can do 170 mph feels incredibly stable and secure at legal speed limits (and above😅). That makes it very confidence inspiring.
@@edombre4637 very stable indeed at any “fast road” speed.

Exactly, had that happen 4-5 times now. Annoying…
Them parking spots are getting soo boring now, all them gs, theres hardly anything nice to look at
Indeed was mostly GSs in attendance…
