Hello. I have had my M1XR for about four months now, here in the US the added bits are unobtanium. Yes, can be ordered but the prices well they are way outrageous. $1,900.00 US for the engine guards. We can only have clear windscreens, but I am going to see if I can get this one tinted. Like you I love it, awesome machine.
Humm! What a bike ! Beautiful and super capable. Excellent choice! I wish you an always happy ownership experience with it. This a blast of quality bike in every sense. Congratulations! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@FenTour That could be expensive but I guess that's literally the price you pay for such a stunner. I don't think I'd be able to behave myself on such a beast though the temptation would just be too great!
Beautiful looking machine Martyn, I was up in Cromer last week camping on the Gs, but they have spread horrible grey loose gravel on the A149 coast road to Hunstanton still rode it but it wasn't as much fun as I'd hoped
@@FenTour Hi, would you be able to please measure the distance between the 2 front brake caliper mount bolts, it should either 108mm or 100mm. I want to get a Roadlok disc lock and it looks like it should be 108mm for Nissin calibers. My MXR is on order so just getting a few bits ready. Cheers Lee
I got one in May. Have you noticed a lack on engine braking in Road and Dynamic mode between 4000-6000 rpm?? Unfortunately, my bike has electrical issues, lots of CanBus faults. Wondering if mine might be a lemon??!!
Not had any issues and certainly no problems with engine breaking over 4000. I know that one can adjust the engine breaking but have not fiddled with any settings as yet. Now covered nearly 3 k miles.
@@FenTour Thank you for your response. Turns out some of the issues I’ve had were related to an unsecured wiring harness that created a loose ground and burnt some of the wiring causing some major electrical issues which are now resolved. The engine braking issue was reproduced by the mechanic who rode a 2024 S1000XR 🤷🏻♂️. Adjusting the engine braking is available in Race Pro modes but not for Road or Dynamic. Installing a BT-MOTO stage I tune next week that makes the power delivery in all gears silky smooth! Thank you for the response, enjoy this beautiful piece of engineering.
@@KenFelch glad you have it sorted Ken, I am guessing that ultimately a nice Alkra decat plus a proper setup on a dyno would really sort out the power delivery. I am thinking about that for next year but really very happy with my bike, so fast A2B.
Nice rds and bike maybe getting one for my next bike.... however I won't be like most bmw riders do is buy the shite looking apparel.. maybe practical but geez they all look the same....
Lovely bike and great details! I have not seen the more modern bikes up close like this. I’m still living in the memories of the old airhead days.
I fell in love with the MXR looks, it’s not just the riding experience. Cheers.

If I recall the rather expensive crash bars cost me £1100 ouch, but they do look good!! Glad you are enjoying your MXR.

It’s my favourite bike to ride now when solo, though will it manage a longer Tour? Finding out soon I hope.
Great video Martin and as a expat I enjoyed seeing my old hunting grounds again 😊
Glad you enjoyed revisiting Norfolk. Cheers.
When you come to changing the tyres do you need to go to the dealer/specialist tyre fitter because of the carbon wheels?
My usual guy for tyres won’t touch it, so it will be back to Sycamore BMW when they are needed.

@@Bazza47 and the insurance is 3 x my other bikes! Pricey but mega.

Looking good.
Thank you Ian! Cheers!
What helmet and mic do you use?
The Mike is a Rode lav. Helmet Ari.
Betty swollucks… 😂😂 Very nice M - wish my GSA quick shifter worked that well. The pizza was calling for a nice IPA.
Indeed a nice cold IPA would have been good, instead I had some cold water! Ah well… cheers.
Hi, do you have the part number(s) for the billet adjusters with the stand adapters? It looks like you need the main part and another? Cheers Lee
I specified these parts with my order for the bike on the BMW configurator, no idea what they are called.

Would you go back and choose the aluminium wheels because of potholes?
No way, I am taking great care; for tyres though many fitters won’t touch them, will be back to BMW.

Haha bit like me wearing my Harley Davidson Jacket on my Harley…!
Lovely machine but I just don't see the point anymore of having such a beast.
One cannot use all the power, but riding one is rather special over the standard XR for example.
