Hey, just wanted to say thanks for putting this up. I followed exactly what you showed for mine and it was really easy. I was pretty concerned about doing it well, as it’s a Bond Street R55 and the stripes were ninety two quid each!!
Yeah at first it’s a little bit of a worry but if I can be honest I’ve done loads of different stripes now and just use the same technique every time 👊🏻🙏
Thank you for the video, we are getting a J01 mini this week and you can't get stripes on the Exclusive model, so I'm fitting my own. This video will help a lot!
Great stuff made it so easy to follow the masking tape was a really good tip as it was a little windy. The only real issue I had was when removing the old stripes the glue left behind, I tried everything to get it off including my heat gun, WD40, Petrol, Tcut, polishing machine the only thing that worked was a bit of soft rubber mat the rubber rubbed the glue off very easily. I had no bubbles and having the stripes the correct level makes it so much easier. I’m really pleased with the result my stripes were 7 years old and had lots of marks, this has made my car look new again thank you for your help and great advice.
Ooo you make this look so easy. I had an accident and I'll be losing my stripes after repairs. From your video it seems i could accomplish re-applying them easy enough. Thanks!
Thanx for the great video. My new white Clubman should be arriving within the next 2 weeks and I think the bonnet stripes look great. My wife doesn't want them though.
.Thank you for this video (subbed) I'm a proud owner of a grey R56 copper S countryman and it's a bit 'road coloured'. Hopefully a couple of bright bonnet stripes will help people see the car so they don't keep pulling out on me!
What would you recommend for maintaining their longevity and keeping them free from staining and the sort? And what type of soap is best to use in the water mixture? How much of it? Should it be gently shaken before use?
If I can be honest I really haven’t got a clue what to use… although saying that I would think a coat of ceramic coating would work. Squirt a tablespoon of fairy liquid or any washing up liquid into a bottle of water that will be absolutely fine… not too much, but enough
I have stripes on my mini that gone peachy with age I was thinking of doing it again so they look good once more but do I have to take old ones off and then put new one on if so how do I get them off I have a mini cooper thanks for your video it very help full
I've just removed my old and tired black stripes from my 2014 mini cooper Convertible and was wondering where you purchased the new stripes from? I was looking to replace the black with chilli red as I've just had the wing mirrors sprayed in chilli red
thanks for posting this. I just ordered sports stripes for my hard top - the two center stripes by the scoop. Is it the same technique to apply? Does the bump in the center of the bonnet make it more difficult or require heating the stripes?
I personally find heating the stripes an absolute nightmare but then I’m no expert. I tend to line them up and spend all my time making sure they’re perfect before putting the tape to hold them and then start
Thanks Melissa, glad you enjoyed it. To be honest it is quite easy. I like to do these videos to give people the confidence to try it themselves. I have done a couple of videos on Countrymans but will make sure I do some more. Is that what you drive?
@@TheOfficialMiniGuy hi yea I have watched your other videos but not seen the countryman ones,& really liked handle video & now wanting new black handles for my mini, yea I have a countryman Cooper s 2017. I just have the black covers on x
@@melissamobberley2086 Sounds very nice Melissa! Yeah i think the black handles would look great. It is a bit fiddly but hopefully my video will help you if you give it a go :)
Hi that will be great, never see anything on countryman & anything. Wanting to do loads on mine, iv changed wheels, cover on grill, cover on handles, next I'm wanting to change my letters. Xx
The sun would get rid of them anyways once they dry off so a few bubbles left doesn't matter they'll be gone in 24hrs Done many of stripes with few bubbles left just leave out in sun.
They are not straight, I measured my original stripes on a Mini 2019 Cooper(because I cut out new one in a different color of car wrap) and at the top they were 13 cm wide, then 12.4 cm and at the very bottom 12 cm, so they can't be completely straight
hi there, Im selling some bonnet stripes, your guide seems great and easy to follow, would it be ok for me to share your youtube link in my adverts? many thanks
You showed the complete wrong way of doing this. Factory stripe kits should not be applied with soap and water as it will effect the adhesive over time. Should also be done indoors to stop airborne crap getting underneath. Hinge in middle and work up then down. Should have also IPA'd first. I am just saying what I am as I own a wrap shop and the amount of cars that come in from people thinking we can fix what they got wrong is amazing. The felt edge is what you start with BTW. That would have pushed out bubbles but these kits are designed to be applied dry.....

Yeah easy 👌🏻
Dziękuję - wymieniłem naklejki sam i wyszło super dzięki Tobie 👍
Thank you. Great instructions. Installed mine easily after watching this video.
Thanks for the video. I successfully put my first stripes on my mum's car. We are both very happy with the results. Cheers.
Thank you for your guide it's very informative and made the job so much easier than I was expected.
No problem 🙏

Great vid but how do you find out the exact positions in the first place?
agreed, I have some to attach and I want them in a V shape, he's only shown half the job
You made this look easy and convinced me to try this with my MCS.

Awesome demo
Thankyou, what do you put in the spray bottle? Weak fairy liquid or just water?
Hi, great video! Do you have a link to the stripes? I can't find one :/
What would you recommend for maintaining their longevity and keeping them free from staining and the sort?

Squirt a tablespoon of fairy liquid or any washing up liquid into a bottle of water that will be absolutely fine… not too much, but enough
A spray on vinyl protectant would do. The type that prevents UV damage

Is the glue activated by water on the stripes ? I assumed theyd be self adhesive
What is the “fairy liquid” you add to the water? Where did you get the squeegee?
"I ythink its kinda sexy!" - Greg Hussey
Where to buy good quality ones?
Thanks a bunch mate for this video.
Great job. Thank you 😊
I've just removed my old and tired black stripes from my 2014 mini cooper Convertible and was wondering where you purchased the new stripes from? I was looking to replace the black with chilli red as I've just had the wing mirrors sprayed in chilli red
I always bought them from BMW (but always ask for a discount 👊🏻)
how long to let dry before driving?
How can I get information on the n scale train setup you built
Do you use just simple water to stick the stripe or is it water with salt?
Just simple water :)
Is this same hood as clubman? I'd like to use this same stripes on clubman.
No… the Clubman is bigger and the bonnet stripes are different. If you want me to have a look into it for you let me know 👍
Hi, nice video. Do you know where I can order these stripes from for an R57? Cheers
Very nice

How can i order these stripes in the US? Love that they are precut for you haven’t been able to find this anywhere
Do you have a Mini main dealership in the US 🤷♂️
Very useful 👍
Glad you enjoyed it :)
There was bubbles left, I could see them, ach well, each to their own I guess.😁

Is it actually a straight stripe or is it a curved thing ?
It is a straight stripe, MINI cut it each end so it fits perfectly
They are not straight, I measured my original stripes on a Mini 2019 Cooper(because I cut out new one in a different color of car wrap) and at the top they were 13 cm wide, then 12.4 cm and at the very bottom 12 cm, so they can't be completely straight
Hi, where did you get the stripes stickers ?
We buy all our Mini parts from Sytner BMW in Harold Wood ask for Dean the parts manager 🙏
If only I had that long to fit them on the production line

Yeah that’s fine 🙏
Why did you spray water 💦?
I use a little bit of fairy liquid mixed in the water 💦 this stops the strips from sticking straight away so buys me a little bit more time
Ive scratched my new mini bonnet stripe and want to replace it 🤦♂️💥
Really sorry to hear… if you live near by more than happy to help if not I hope the video will help you
