    Awesome! I have seen some Lauren Harris paintings unfinished and he also used the same ground colour of light orange.

      Thanks GI! Yes, I like to have a coloured ground. Not only does it mean I don't have to cover the entire canvas so no white peaks through, but because the colour there, it shows through all over the work. That helps give it a certain continuity. Thanks for watching!

      @@GregHargarten in places it is, the western Arthur's range, and marble Mountain are but 2 places, unfortunately with mobility issues I can no longer visit those places, but there's still plenty to paint even in my bush back yard is a slice of sanctuary and with plenty of friendly wildlife. Cheers from Tassy!

    Hey, thanks so much for taking us on the painting journey. Super interesting. Wondering if there is any way to just slow down the video a bit. Well, like half as fast. I'd love to see how you are holding your brush for some of the strokes etc. I feel it would be a bit easier to learn a bit better. Anyway, not sure if you can/will be able to. But thanks.

      Thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I can't slow this one down, perhaps I'll try a slower style for an upcoming video. :)

    Good one.( There was red in the bottom of the sky left between the trees that was painted over which was so interesting.that would have really propped)

      Hi Jean, usually a larger painting like this takes 2-3 days for me to complete because I like to paint in 3-4 hour sessions. I love painting wet into wet, and the Golden Open acrylics are great for this. So, I try to time the breaks in painting at certain times when I don't need to paint wet into wet. For example I will often stop once I've completed the sky and far background. Then when I return to continue on the foreground I can still paint wet into wet. I hope that answers your question. :)

    Where do I find those brushes Sir?

    • @GregHargarten
      @GregHargarten  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The large brushes are simple house painting brushes-any type will do. I do have one large "artist" brush, it's a 2 inch Connoisseur. Hope this helps! :)
