I love all those strips down there in Arkansas! Our family has a cabin in the Ozarks and we fly down as often as we can. All the best on your Missing Man flight today - We're with you.
I bet it was a real treat to get back into this type of tailwheel again and made you feel like the early days of your channel doing the tailwheel training. I bought my 170 at H35 about 20 miles south of Byrd's. I didn't get a chance to stop there when I bought it, but soon I will be taking it from the west coast back to the Appalachias. Probably will make a rest stop there on the way.
So wonderful seeing you here in Arkansas! Obviously, this was shot some months ago in late Winter. I hope you get to come back in Autumn when the trees are in color!
As a fellow A&M former cadet, love seeing Trevor. What a ride for him- F-16s and the Thunderbirds to private jets to STOL Cubs and ScaleWings Mustang replicas
I'm gonna like this little series. What a cool(er) plane. I really wish there was something anywhere near me that would make STOVL fun for us here in North Texas. I already land my Cheetah in the grass whenever I can. But even those opportunities are very limited.
awesome air craft & amazing back country Flying ...Love iT not an Pilot but Right seat a lot on several single engine planes mainly short Sunday flights
Great video Steve. That is a plane I really could live with - Very nice characteristics. Did wonder re that baggage stow area so far aft how hard it would be to assess weight and balance, particularly with a passenger - balance of course main question such that CG stays safe. Good luck with Air Venture.
If you're actually getting that airplane, you could try to hook up with Trent Palmer and play around in his backyard a bit. The scenery looks fantastic from his videos, your family might like it... 🙂
It makes me so happy you got to do the debut out in my backyard. Byrds, Trigger Gap, Ponca, all that is great back country for what little BLM land we have out this way.
@@FlightChops Thanks for responding Steve, I'm curious about the constant speed unit, - MT v's Airmaster v's Hollow crank hydraulic? and in particular the 3 blade Whirlwind prop diameter on the 320? would be much appreciated, Cheers Glenn.
It's honestly a joke - like when I had the first version of the airplane for the month the first time I called it "my new airplane". This one I had for 3 days and it was pretty cool to be set loose with it to fly my family around the back country.
@@FlightChops sorry. I haven't been watching too many aviation videos lately, so I haven't been following you as closely as I was earlier. Nothing you did, of course, I've just had other priorities. I mean, if you can afford two airplanes, and some people can, I would think it would be great to own a real back country airplane like that. Maybe one day you'll own it and the RV. By the way, I never liked tail draggers, but your RV is about as sweet as they come!
So, how cool is it to have the opportunity to fly new airplanes…Way Cool.
We really enjoyed having you out to fly the Byrd! Such a fun weekend!

Cub flying is what brought me to your channel, I love the STOL and Cub flying.
That’s a cool taildragger alright, great fun
Honestly, this is my favourite Cub type by a long shot!

It sure was!
Thanks for the flight! Love watching this stuff and STOL sure looks pretty inviting. Keep those videos coming for those of us hooked!
What a treat to share that with your wife! Breathtaking views and what a cool plane!

First time seeing this plane, didn’t think it was anything special until the air work was shown off. Now I want to fly one!

Plane like that is my dream
So many airplanes! What next, a Thatcher Cx-4 or Cx-5?
Big thanks. You’re back to flying again but longer videos up to 1 hr.
Did I say thanks 🙏
Great content Steve, hoping you'll have more info on that constant speed unit and prop combination on the 320.
Cheers from DownUnder.
Glenn.
What specific questions do you have and I'll see about fitting in more details in the upcoming episodes.

Dozen!
Man I wish I could even afford ONE plane. I don’t know how anyone can do it with kids. Much less one that costs 380k
Nice plane. Can't wait to see it around home. Were you out in the Harvard today? Looked like someone was having fun in it over the River.
That was probably Dave. I will be there tomorrow.
❤❤❤❤
When are you building a cub?
Are you keeping the RV
So, Steve, are you buying this Patriot and have this and the RV?

What happened to the Vans tail kit giveaway.
Real standup guy and channel.
I'm not sure I understand this comment...
Are you saying a giveaway from ~5 years ago didn't happen?
You’re still learning to fly? Be careful, bud.
The best pilots never stop training.
Your girls aren't babies anymore! They grow up so fast.
Haha - yeah - Jill's not growing so much anymore, but Evelyn is 15 now! It's nuts how fast that happened!
