When I saw, "Flying Adventure". I clicked play immediately. Thank You for bringing us along. Loved It!
Ty seems like the coolest dude. He’s always laughing and smiling. Nice to see. Yeah you’re kinda cool to Trent and the rest of the guys.
Be interested to hear about his prop improvements.
He's my favorite! Always good seeing him in the videos
Yeah he's seems like a funny guy. Does some crazy stuff in his plane.
The guy almost killed him.
@@ealmiladi Did he die? That’s what friends are for…
Having spend the first 20 years of my life growing up in Idaho, I knew that the Owyhee country was special because of its stark craggy beauty, but your capture of the scenery throughout the video was spectacular. Thank you for another wonderful flying buddy camping trip; I really enjoy these particular episodes...
...and Alaska would be EPIC!!!
You capture the FUN of bush plane flying!
Did you you know that the name Owyhee is an old name for Hawaii? So how did a mountain range in SW Idaho come to be named for some Pacific islands?! There is a rather involved back story here. Briefly, in the mid-1800's a group of men from Hawaii got snookered into coming to Idaho for work, if I remember. They got homesick and decided to walk to California and go home. They left camp and were never seen again.
I always wondered about that, I live in Bannock County high country.
They came to trap beaver. There's a historical marker at the top of the Marsing grade that explains it.
@@Alex-pg5zz 😵
Kanakas came from Hawaii to work the gold fields of California in 1849. Many kept going to Montana and Idaho as the strikes happened. I lived for years on Kanaka Rapids of the Middle Snake.
That's sad. 😔
That Alaska trip sound like a good time, hope you go for it!
Some fantastic scenery and flying Trent, thanks for taking us along. Safe flying, cheers from NZ
In the early 80s I flew into Rome state with my instructor.
We were under the scud trying to beat a snow storm in may to Winnemucca Nevada and the wings started to ice up, so we had no choice but to land at Rome state.
There was nothing there at the time but a VOR station so we ended up spending the night in a snow storm freezing our butts off at that airstrip.
About 6am we spotted these wild mustangs walking by us and we were waiting till it got warm enough to get the snow off the wings of my Cherokee, finally got out about 10AM, gassed up in yerington Nevada, then home to kcma.
FRIGGIN’ HILARIOUS TRENT. EXTREMELY PROFICIENT BACK COUNTRY PILOT………”I don’t know Ty, I’m afraid of heights” 😂😂😂
I’m terrified of heights!
@@TrentonPalmer I love your videos brother!!!
@@TrentonPalmer lol… I know I am… but always knew I’d be a pilot. While flying it hits me occasionally, but most of my commercial flying has been helicopters, doing ranch work and offshore oil and gas. The fixed wing stuff was also ranch related, so always at treetops or otherwise quite low, flying fences or moving cows, flying by ground reference, yet ALWAYS know what the wind is doing. I think flying high with turbulence is all that really bothers me. Probably because I am out of what I usually use for reference. Standing at the edge of a cliff or building…. Testicles move up into my neck!!!!
The Owyhee is a magical place. I'm a PNW (Oregon) native and an avid self-supported rafter and we've run the Owyhee river several times. Rome is a DESOLATE place as is the Alvord and Lost Forrest. beautiful to see it from the air in your videos. if you ever want a real adventure get someone trustworthy to take you on a float trip down the whole Owyhee (or the Middle Salmon). Rafting, much like bush planes, is one of the only ways short of hiking in to see many of the most amazing places in the PNW.
Man! This was a Trent Palmer classic epic adventure! Sooo good to see an all flying and camping get together with Trent and friends. It was so nice to wake up this morning and grab a hot cup of coffee and head out to our sun room to take off and fly with you Trent. There is just something so special about your calm demeanor that makes me relax and puts me in your passenger seat for a grand adventure. Thank you so much for your excellent video. The view, music and your commentary are better than any fiction movie one could pay to go and see. I just love what you do. Keep up the good work! I’ll raise a cup to clear skies and calm winds and happy flying!
Somehow these adventures motivate me to get rolling with our RV to experience our own adventure. Time to get out of Texas and leave behind the blistering heat and head for the mountains.
Haven’t been there since I was 13yo in ‘68. Absolutely beautiful place.
Wow! Such vicarious fun and in one of my two favorite parts of Oregon, the other being the Wallowas. I have flown around the Owyhee's in an Ercoupe, but never back country landed, though, I have overland back country explored west to east and nearly destroyed a pair of hiking boots in just a week-plus 3-days. Too much camera equipment, not enough food.
The Owyhees were created by the same moving hot spot that created the Yellowstone complex. It is a great rock hounding area.
Thanks for the visual pucker factor adventure.
Fly camping! Just awesome! Thanks for the great vids! Hi from South Africa!
Hey, nice grass on the home strip 👍. Fabulous adventure flying video. 🙏 Trent. And GREAT in air photography. What spectacular shots, absolutely loved it.
Trent thanks again for another amazingly cool video.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hey Trent, thanks so much for the video. I'm in a really rough spot currently, still trying to figure out how to make it out and really just needed some peace and calm for a moment and you uploading a 36 minute video was just a heaven sent.
It was good to see Ty out and about. Thanks for sharing.
Forgot how fun these videos are. Glad the season is here again.
Don't overfly Trent when his starlink is on, or all your kids will be born naked. Lmao 🤣😂
Beautiful video thanks for taking us along.
This is such a great video. Currently building a Super Stol.
This put me in high gear.
Wow, the life you are living is simply amazing. As a former active private pilot with an old Cessna 150 (just got too expensive for me while raising 4 kids), it is fun to live vicariously through your videos. I remember many, many years ago watching the Kitfox VHS videos I got while visiting their display at Oshkosh. Never built one, so this is GREAT to watch.
Fantastic videography! So enjoy Trent Palmer "Flying Adventures."
Great video! Looks like a lot of fun. I recently got back into flight simulators, after almost 20 years, with MSFS, and just bought the FreedomFox about a week ago. What a fun plane! There's a definite learning curve for backcountry landings, but I'm loving the challenge. Keep having fun and thanks for letting us watch!
More EProp love! Beyond happy with mine on my RV-12 as well. Gains in takeoff, climb, and lower rpm at a faster cruise
Hell, my paramotor even loves E props
Starlink ,Up to stratospheric balloons and commercial aircraft. Basically those slow moving stars you see at dusk and dawn.
23:35: I have spent more time thinking about this than I like to admit. I think the blades are rotated. The two white stripes on the tip of the blade should be on the front. Note how the upper blade has the black side facing in. The lower blade closes to you has two white stripes facing outwards. It has probably been rotated 180 degrees. Sooo yeah... For whoever might care.
It's great to see all the terrain that you covered in your "camping" flight. A great spring and green trip.
The scenery is amazing. What a beautiful place.
Great job showing and telling, like where’s y’all was going. And the site’s that y’all were at nice sites. Well I joyed the video flying with y’all it was fun watching y’all. Have a great one see y’all next time see y’all hopefully soon bye.
Beautiful scenery, fabulous tunes, awesome planes, great friends…unlimited internet! What can possibly be better?
Yep, from Nampa. Venture around those areas sometimes. Cool geology, reminds me of old west movies.
Trent, thanks for the great "camping/flying" video. It is so nice to be able to fly back home and be home all in the same action.
Always love these videos Trent! Unfortunately my pilot dreams have been dashed due to bone marrow cancer, the anemia it causes keeps me from chasing my license... so watching these videos lets me live vicariously through them..... keep them coming.
For an old man that has always wanted to fly, you are the closest thing to doing it my self. I’m 73 and haven’t given up on my dream!
I love your scenic flying videos! I've always enjoyed watching little airplanes that rock and bounce through the air gently, seeming carefree. Though I understand that from a pilot's perspective, not every moment is carefree. 🙂
love the 360
What a great video. One of my favorites. Thanks for taking us along. And yeah, don't stand over that Starlink unless you don't want kids!
Thanks Trent! Looks like everyone had so much fun & you put in all the hard work to bring us along. We really appreciate all you do! Keep it up!
Good morning from Minnesota! Fantastic episode!
Thank you.. That was the best thing I've seen in a while.
Very refreshing to see you guys out having an adventure. Here in UT it has been cold and wet. Looks like you guys were back just before the storm which has been many days here. Clear skies.
Where is the new 2 blade Prop?
You know I thought I seen the freedom fox go over top of me towards nampa a while back! Awesome to see you flying around my neck of the woods
Some of the best produced and high quality content of any kind right here. Thank you.
Dude, I hadn't heard that song in a while. Right side of the road, what a jam. Besides that, amazing video, always hyped when one is dropping.
For everyone that want, I see they only have 3000 listeners per month, let's lift that a bit together.
Such camaraderie, beautiful airplanes and awesome views! Great friends and you brought me with you, thank you👍🏽
I met John this year at AirVenture, He was giving a symposium on the history of KitFox Aircraft. Afterwards, I peaked my head in his plane and saw the smoke oil system. It was clear he was a cool dude after that.
Love this videos. Thank you for taking us with you.
LOve this one Trent. You have got a great place to come home too dude.
This channel has been a great find, a pure joy to follow. I feel like you're wingman.
Okay Trent! I can't wait for your new "floats" adventure. Picking them, getting certified on them, and taking them to Alaska! Go Trent Go!
And this video here sums up why I really want a bush plane, because it looks like so much fun!
Flying around wild horse heaven. That place is unreal. The who great basin is.
Yes! This be one of my first trips in the Bogey next month. So inspiring, thanks TP
Looking forward to the 360 video ;)
@@Squawk-VFRokay!
Excellent 👏 …. really happy to see great ADM being practiced 👍👍
The ‘wave off ‘ and decision to eliminate the pressure on others to stretch their personal minimums were spot on 😉
Great stuff, thanks for sharing.
Ps - love seeing John out there with you guys at one point 😊
Man ! That area of the U.S. is SOOOOOOOO Beautiful!!! Thanks Trent !
Best adventure video yet. Stupendous terrain in 8K. Good skills demonstration. Very entertaining. Thanks.
Beautiful, this is what it should be about! You give me a reason to dream big!
Love seeing the sights that you explore! I would like to see a video of how you prepare for these backcountry camping trips; like what aviation or camping equipment that has made your trips better.
Okay okay. You win… this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. 😂
Looks like SO much fun! Really makes me wish I had a bush plane, and friends with bush planes. Best I could do is meet up at Nampa or some similar paved strip.
I’ve just discovered this channel and… is just amazing. Every single frame is gorgeous. I’m 20 years old and I hope someday I could do something similar.
Thought I’d seen it all, but now there is airplane camping. :)
Really cool trip. Beautiful landscape, really rugged. I've never seen that area before.
Great video. Thanks Trent that’s what it’s all about. Videos like this are what really motivated me to start flying.
You guys must know your living such an awesome life. I wonder what it must feel like? Thanks for sharing!!
Beautiful!! Thanks Trent, what a great weekend out!
Love your videos, Trent. You're living the dream of every wannabe pilot! God bless you!❤🤠🇺🇲😎
Thank you. I really enjoyed that one. Very nice indeed. Keep them coming. All my best you and your better half.
I learned to fly out of KEUL... I used to fly the Owyhee's all the time.. Nampa's airport grill has awesome food!
Great to have you out flying again love the views I think your 360 camera is awsome
Great video and looks like a blast. Thanks for making these videos for us ground guys. Can’t wait to be able to also fly one day.
I have actually done that airplane cliff dive off that. Been to all those amazing places in a buddies supper cub years ago. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Go check out the Steens and the Alvord.
Beautiful flying Trent ! What a great bunch of friends 👍🏻
Subscribed from the garage building video, the quanlity is awesome as usual. Keep bring us more adventure video, love it!
Looks like so much fun! Forgot how prretty it was in the Owyhees.
Jealous of these backcountry adventures! Nothing quite like this on the east coast. Keep it up dude!! 🤙
Jealousy is a sin my brother. The Bible States“For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.” repent your sins.
Hey Trent! Any chance you could include google-earth placemarks for the places you land for us bush pilots who don't get to fly with you? That would be so awesome. Or maybe just create a file that contains all the places you've ever landed. Something to do when it is raining or too windy to fly. Hahaha.
Wow, Joe Dory is what brought me to you guys (NorCal, Nevada, Utah, Idaho). And probably lots of original viewers. He came here for the first STOL event in Llano Texas. Was a cool fella to meet. I have often wondered why you guys never mentioned his name or ran into him. Maybe he’s always been quietly in the peripheral…?
I know Joe, I just haven’t gotten the chance to fly with him, I need to fix that soon
@ if I remember right, he won the event. My wife and I missed his 50’ obstacle flight, as we were standing in the shade of someone’s tailgate, watching a live stream of our grandbabies ultrasound. Should’ve flown my Cub up there instead of riding a motorcycle…
I’ve been flying Ranch work most of my life so I didn’t think there would be much to it. I was wrong. It would’ve been a blast.
Love your channel, keep it up
Steve Henry, Years ago went off a mountain dead stick down to a gravel bar, may be find out where it was. It was an awesome video. safe travels.
Awesome video!! A blast from start to finish.
You should fish the Owyhee River! Has MONSTER Browns in it, and there are hot springs near the mouth of the canyon! Super fun with kids
I need to! That’s below the reservoir yeah?
Hey Trent, good to see you playing in my home state. Great video!!
Gorgeous scenery! Thanks for sharing! I noticed your passenger side tire stops spinning right after take off, while the pilot side keeps going. Probably nothing but better safe than sorry!
@@s58035 I thought that might be the case. I'm not a pilot, but I did take a few flight lessons decades ago (and stayed at a few Holiday Inn's too). Figured I'd say something.
Thanks, your vids are very well put together and the music is always great and fits so very well, Thanks.
8:00 I can totally see a cop pulling Trent over "you were going 80 in a 55 mph zone!"...
SCNR 🙂
Trent, you should look at the bearings or how tight your axel nut is on your right wheel. It stops rotation the second your wheel leaves the ground, my guess is you're not tapping your brakes that quick, just that thought for you. Great video.
They’re looking greener than I’ve ever seen them!
You gotta admit that a whole lot of the fun you're having, is due to this insanely beautiful country you live in, don't you?
That plus the fact that you can just do this.
This is legit legal fun. There is no laws against this. It's incredible.
Best place in the world!
@@TrentonPalmer Even when our leaders aren't always the best, AMERICA is still the best place to live!
Trent, might want to take a look at your wheel bearings on your right wheel. I noticed on a few of your takeoffs the tire comes to an immediate abrupt stop the instant you come off the ground. It doesn't free spin for even a second. Take it easy brother!
I think he is brake tappin
@@KnightDriveTV if that's the case, he will probably mention it.
One of your best videos ever T!
Good Nz morning Trent. Just calling in from almost the bottom of the world. Usual story, I stumbled on your channel, and as I like flying, I subscribed and liked. Unfortunately at least 8 or 9 years ago I had a heart event, which means under our CAA rules, I can't get a medical to fly. However, I understand that it's a possibility that with the "Experimental" like the Kitfox, there is an exemption? Note to self...I need to do some more research on that. I'm subscribed to another pilot's channel down here, so with plenty of binge watching on both the channels, I'm going to have a bit of a mission to keep up. I'm retired now, so shouldn't be too bad. Anyway many thanks for sharing. Take care mate and all the very best. Btw we have some great scenery down here, if you ever find your way here. Cheers.
The Bent propeller:
Propellers tend to bend forward when a crash is at a higher power setting. The blades bend backward when the engine is at a lower setting. In your case the propeller was probably at a slightly higher power setting until the 1st and 2nd blade struck the ground. After the 1st two blades struck the ground, the engine rpm likely slowed enough to let the final blade bend backwards as it struck.
On the busted prop, the 2 blades bent forward are when the engine was making power. The one bent aft is when the motor died.
Come to Montana! There is some good bush flying and camping here, 53U Ferndale Airstrip is a nice place to land. You’ve got a few fans here too.
Oh my! Missed your flying videos dude! Glad to see you back!
Adam
Epic trip, and epic movie! Thanks Trent.👏
The views were awesome thanks .
Great to be back in "The Fun of Flying with Friends" videos....
Your bush flights are so inspiring man. I'm trying to emulate your flights in MSFS, with some backcountry bush flights in the UK.... Something that is totally impossible thanks to the UKs civil aviation Authority. Love your videos 😊
There’s a guy who lands on very spicy strips in the UK on prior permission required. His channel is ShortField. Not quite bush landings but close. Watch some of his older videos to get your adrenaline up
