If The Dark Dimension ever came out. Four could be a curitor when he gives up trying on fixing his timeline. If you don't know what the Dark Dimension is it's a never made film which was made for only video. About the Fourth Doctor yadda yadda he never regenerated
Now I know you might be scared, but however scared you are Clara, the man you are with, the man I hope you are with he is more scared than ever and he needs you. Good bye Clara, miss ya
That's what he wrote it for. For some bizarre reason the production team decided to chuck out the music he specially wrote for The Day of the Doctor and replace it with tracks in the archive. God knows why, it really seriously jars for me and makes the episode worse.
The electronic-y synth bit of this is my favourite. Most people here are saying that it reminds them of when 11 phones the TARDIS at the end of Deep Breath but this always reminds me of old 11 and Clara nearing the end of Time of The Doctor, where Clara is coming to terms with 11's imminent demise.
Clara: Hello? 11:It's me. Clara: Yes its you, who's this? 11: it's me Clara...the Doctor. Clara:...What do you mean the Doctor? 11: I'm phoning you from Trenzalore. Soon before I changed. It's all still to happen to me. Coming. Oh its coming. Not long now...I can...feel it... Clara: ...Why? Why did you do this? 11: Because I think it's gonna be a whopper. And I think that you might be scared Clara, but the man you are with right now. The man I hope you are with, believe me, he is more scared...than anything you can imagine right now, and he...needs you. 12:So who is it? 11:Is that The Doctor? 12:Is that The Doctor? Clara: Yes. 11:He sounds old, please tell me I didn't get old, anything but old. Oh, is he young? Ooh...is he gray? Clara: Yes. 11: Clara please, hey for me...help him. And don't...be...afraid. Goodbye Clara...miss...ya.
Finally after years of searching for this one, I loved that moment when the 11th called Clara to help the 12th. Super emotional moment watching it live
What if this is the Doctor's last moment? The Older One, "The Curator". 11 grew old, after waiting on Trenzalore for so long, so what if The Curator had waited for 11 to get here, just to give him hope to find Gallifrey. It's a sweet thought, knowing that the Doctors always help each other, and are there when they need each other.
An interesting thought, though I'd prefer to think that The Curator was simply the Doctor's last regeneration as opposed to his actual final moments. Either way, The Day of the Doctor serves as an epilogue to the show, allowing us the knowledge that the Doctor got to retire and become a curator, even if the show never actually gets a full-fledged ending and for that, I love this episode more than words can state.
I don't know if it was even his last regeneration. A far-off future one, to be sure, but I think it may be more of a millenium-long "holiday" after which the Doctor will inevitably take up the fight again.
@@Althalus2010 it seems based on the recent big finish audios the curator is a distant version of the doctor after he's retired from directly saving the universe but hangs out in the past to lend a hand when needed but through whatever means has the ability to change his face at will. For me from the majestic tale bit near the end this is Murray golds final bow for the 11th doctors "I am the doctor" theme music. Dunno bout anyone else ?
So, this was supposed to play during the Curator scene, but got replaced with "The Wedding of River Song"? At least they used it for the phone call between Clara and 11 during Deep Breath.
birdtomahawk Playing it with this track and the BBC video the same way Vasco did it in his video made it awesome. Love that the cynth/piano comes in when the Curator's shoulder is seen, and the guitar at "That Gallifrey didn't fall!"

I suspect they rescored it to keep the sense of mystery alive. I wonder whether this scene might not be revisited in years to come, from Tom Baker's side, with Song For Four on it.
Think someone could separate the dialogue from the music in the Curator/Home scene in The Day of the Doctor and replace it with this music? I tried muting the episode and playing this music with the scene and it matched perfectly, all the way up to the fade to credits and everything. Just no audio. I find this track interesting. It is clearly meant to be a theme for the Fourth Doctor (or the Curator, same difference), but it was cut and instead used when the Doctor calls Clara from Trenzalore. Strange stuff, this.
this isn't the curator scene, its from the scene when the 11th dr phones clara. the music from the curator scene sounded like a variation of river song's theme from what i can remember

I connect this song to Four (or at least his personality, since that's the personality The Doctor will end up with in his last incarnation), since this song was intended to be used when "4" showed up at the end of DOTD.
This is actually one of the finest pieces of music in any TV show. Beautiful.

Sort of wished they had used this when Tom Baker showed up. The music at the beginning had that kind of 70-80's synthesized feel :)
Because the Four appears in 1974 -1981 Doctor who. :P
That's what he wrote it for. For some bizarre reason the production team decided to chuck out the music he specially wrote for The Day of the Doctor and replace it with tracks in the archive. God knows why, it really seriously jars for me and makes the episode worse.
@@WhovianSentaiRiderFan Hi, 4th Doctor Jelly Babies. Do YOU want a Jelly baby?
Sounds like the song that plays when Clara talks to Eleven over the phone in Deep Breath. Or a version/variation of it.
The curator scene in DOTD was when it was originally going to play, but another music took it's place. It was reused at the end of Deep Breath, yes.
LuvGold And also in The Time Of The Doctor

It reminds me of Tennant flipping his screwdriver over and over.
"Goodbye Clara, miss ya..."
2:42 One of the best arrangements of the Eleventh's theme I've heard. :-) The ending is a bit too orchestral and showy, but the rest is brill.
My earphones broke at the end of this track due to the pure epicness of Murray Gold!
I much prefer the variation of I am the Doctor at the end to the one that actually played in the episode... FANTASTIC track!
One of the best soundtracks of DW! Just amazing!
This is much better than reusing existing songs like they did in the episode
Yep, infinitely better. Why did they do this, it weakens the episode a lot.

You see that's where everybody's wrong. It's all one title. Song For Home Four.
Just go with it, the reference is good.
Home might be the scene where the Doctor calls Clara over the phone, too. Clara was scared, and Eleven was safe and familiar, just like home.
