I had one named Charlie. he stayed exclusively near me 24/7 from the time I was 9 until 20 years old. he would only sleep in my room and want to be around me. when I was 14 15 16 years old. he attacked all of my friends and family. he was my guard dog. he liked my mom and older brother. well tolerated them. because they gave him food in my room. but anyone else no way.

Grew up around doggies since I don't know how young. Reading their language through movements like snapping the jaw shut before going in for the bite are easy visual cue's. I’ve had my English bulldog for a year now but due to covid he wasn’t around people at all and is people aggressive, walking him or having someone come over now is such a struggle. He’s 2 years old and his original owners weren’t so nice to him and also never socialized him with people.
Develop a routine, stay consistent, and patient! Covid was rough on a lot of dogs. We have had a ton come in with separation anxiety and overall anxious behaviors in general.
Same with mine. With covid, it's been hard to socialize. He is 2 years and we got him when he was a puppy and I don't know what to do :/ he doesn't like stranger when people come to the house, and he wants to fight with every single dog that he sees at the vet

I haven't even watched your video, but if you're some kind of a dog whisperer or trainer, or so-called behaviorist, it was very irresponsible of you to make such a glib statement. I had a passel of Maltese dogs who only growled or barked if there was someone ( human or dog) in my house gettin' crunk, worked up, stole a toy ( not allowed, unless both parties are playing happily), out of hand, i.e. angry, disruptive. The remainders of my pack were their 19 yr old Maltese grandpa, a Jack Russell- Dachshund, a Boxer, and an APBT. Everybody shared one food bowl, one water bowl and was respectful to each other and humans. I don't put up with any s#¡+. Every moment is a teachable moment, I bring my dogs up the same way I brought my child up moment-by-moment, you can do this, you cannot do that. My way is informal and organic, and many times I allow dogs to figure things out themselves. There is only quick and sharp reprimand if they're about to get into the trash, cuz you know trash is its own reward so getting any thing out of it must never happen. I capture behaviors while they're just running around being pups give it a name and give them praise, they learned self-control the same way a mama dog would teach it, by deterrence or distraction or a grunt or growl. A reward them for turning their attention to something else by the typical tongue-lolling doggy smile and happy sounds ( you know this sounds dogs make when they're happy) or by praise and a happy dance which in effect is the wiggle waggle that a dog's body does when it has a tail wagging happily. The dogs think I'm talking their language, and it works. Communication and learning every day in every way. And the only treats they get is something from the fridge when they come in from going potty, something like shredded cheese spread out in a line so they can all share and eat together side by side. Sometimes they are spoon-fed avocado sitting side by side, taking their turns with their names being called for their bite. Oh, and one other thing, my dogs and I bond over food sharing - sometimes I eat some and then I share with them and this has the dual purpose of establishing myself as still being the leader of the pack who eats a kill first as dogmoms (& dads) do, but not in that old 70s Alpha way. They have discovered that's not the way wolf packs work after all. It's more give -n- take than they once thought, and more of a cooperative effort then they would have ever believed when they became more objective or others more objective came along decades later.
When a dog's behavior changes in older age, it is often [usually] because he is in pain. You can't see this pain. But, they don't just change for no reason, or get an attitude for no reason, in fact, they do NOTHING for "no reason," so assume that he has a reason. Please take him to the vet for a thorough check. No dog should be giving his person angry growls. Never! This is not normal, safe, or acceptable behavior, but there is a reason for it. he is trying to say something, in fact, he IS saying something, but, he is not understood. Please, have him checked. If the physical comes back 100% good, then please, get a GOOD trainer [yes, anyone can call themselves a trainer, unfortunately, so check carefully and get references and watch the trainer in his work before you hire him] and try to figure out and solve the problem. Your dog growling at you is most definitely a problem! Good luck.

This is a rarity because 99% of English bulldogs are very passive and playful. Mine barks and any stranger he will bark at. But never bites and loved every one. My boy is awesome and my friends that have bulldogs are all sweet and lovable. Someone did treat this boy wrong period
So any advice on extreme anxiety and nail clipping ?. We have a 230lb saint bernard who developed quite bad anxiety after his brother passed. He was the brave one out of the two but now even cleaning his ears he gets fearful.
I have a 3 year old EBD and she is kid aggressive. She's good as gold with all adults. Men & women, but the second a small child enters the room it's like she turns into frickin' CUJO.
Iam almost lost my life to one of those dog on my side the dog was literally trying to eat my face and go from my throat not once not twice had me down on the ground several times if it wasn’t for the fact that the dog had a caller on, I don’t even think I’d be alive
I adopted an overbred breeder surrender from a local rescue in January. She was laser spayed in December. She just turned 7, completely untrained, not potty trained/house broke, knew no basic commands only her name. Doesn't know how to play with toys, it's all about destroying them. I've had her 4 months now, she refuses to be potty trained, and has been aggressive towards me snapping and trying to bite me but only during my monthly cycle since day 1. She's shown every behavior of being beaten and I was to,d she lived her whole life in a cage. I feel like a failure here and I've had several dogs of all different breeds so I'm not inexperienced. Any suggestions?
@@jthielen71 I'm very sorry, ma'am. Hopefully the dog will warm up to them soon, hopefully. For some dogs, they need to get used to people. But honestly, I would hate it if a dog was getting aggressive with my daughter/son.

Sounds to me like you’re on the right track! Physical exercise and mental stimulation are important. People tend to overlook the mental stimulation. Keep the brain active and engaged. Keep up the good work!
You didn’t really correct or follow through with your corrections.. you need to immediately correct him and make him submit. You’re taking the fear approach and your only prolonging this dogs aggression

We just got one that's a little over a year old she was abused. Very sweet but having problems potty training.

He also may need to go to the vet. When older dogs behavior changes it can be due to pain. That will make them grumpy
