If men think this doe not affect them also, they are sadly mistaken. In the blink of an eye, you can become a widowed single parent, a grieving parent due to loss of your daughter or a grieving son. Be wise and help women vote these cruel people out of office.

Yes , exactly , I mean she made the decision to have a abortion, her life wasn't in danger because of her pregnancy, it was just a inconvenience to her, once she took pills, babies died, but got the infection because of her choice to terminate her babies, now once she got to hospital, I believe babies were dead, so if Drs just removed dead babies they would not be responsible for the abortion. So I do feel that they so have helped her, because technically Drs would not be responsible for abortion.

It is easy to see in 2024. But the Georgia abortion ban went into law on July 20th, 2022, and Amber Thurman died on August 19th, 2022. So, it makes perfect sense to me that the hospital administration had to first inquire of the legal ramification of the procedure.

SisterSong's spokesperson is very articulate. I lived in GA for several years and can attest to what she says..and I am white and high income. Unfortunately the abortion and womens maternal healthcare crisis is just an aspect of the bigger issue of mysogyny in healthcare. ALL women are victims of it. All women are at risk, but the 4 to 5 times higher risk experienced by women of color in maternal outcomes also prevails in healthcare more generally. I have a rare medical condition and have barely escaped death 4 times by doctors who dismissed my issues even knowing the validity of my underlying condition. Our system is rotten to the core and it is this rot that enables maternal healthcare deserts, DNC bans and abortion bans. Until women stand up and scream - not, "we wont go back", but rather, "NO MORE" this will not end. Abortion rights are just the tip of the iceberg. Its time to fight back actively with all the tools at our disposal.

Casual access? Married people have abortions. Women in relationships have abortions. Raped people have abortions too. And also: people have sex for fun, money, many reasons that don't include procreation. They always have, always will. Expecting people to stop having sex isn't a solution. Voting, helping people get abortions, and putting with your vote the right people in positions of power to change horrific, stupid laws that do nothing but hurt, that is the solution. Telling women to just stop having sex is just as stupid and unrealistic coming from the pro choice side, as it is when religious zealots say it. So ut was noted by a pro-life advocate on CNN, although the host made every effort to talk over her, in which case why invite her in the first place?
AThe guest alleged medical malpractice in one case because the doctors waited too long to take action. Sepsis is a very serious condition.
Apparently the other lady bled out at hme, fearful of going to the hspital.
It should always be regarded as appropriate to save a patient;s life, even when
the condition is self-inflicted. The guest said that both women had already taken abortion pills prior to developing complications; the drs. did not kill the babies, even if their task would have involved clearing out dead tiaauw.
      The abortions were already irreversible.
It sounds to me, if I received the facts, that fearmongering had something to do with these deaths.
But I do believe that, apart from standard exceptions for rape, incest, and dire medical circumstances (one might add coercion, as pertains to trafficking), abortion should be regarded as a criminal act on the part of the provider.
cTo profit from the business of death, of killing innocents for hire, should
certainly not be regarded as normal and acceptable.
But where is male responsibility in all this? Nowhere to be found. Where is the welfare State when it is needed? Republicans are probably too stingy to subsidize girls in trouble, or would rather subsidize the rich. Democrats would rather pay the executioners
      who provide 'abortion care'.
P.S. The CNN hostess declared twice that this abortion pill, despite these mishaps, is 'inxredibly safe'. Evidently it is an article of faith with her.

Hearing that a DnC is criminalized in these states is terrifying. It is best practice in the event of a miscarriage to assure that there is not dead tissue remaining in a woman's uterous. Any dead tissue puts a woman at risk for serious infection and sepsis. I know that many women have had to manage their own miscarriage at home, where they can bleed to death or get a serious infection. DnC's are not only for pregnancy complications, but also for other reproductive issues. Politicians and law makers need to stop practicing medicine without a license. That's illegal, they shouldn't be allowed to do this.

What people don't realize is that even an emergency D&C should be done by a physician who has been well trained on the procedure, and if you limit it to emergencies you will have trouble recruiting OBGYN doctors to your state for either residency programs and/or jobs. The doctors who delayed the procedure that could have saved her have a part of responsibility in her death, and they will have to answer for that eventually. Regardless if the medical emergency was caused by an abortion pill, the women were suffering medical complications at that point. Dead fetal tissue is a medical complication not an abortion, obviously , as the tissue is dead. Yeah, the fact that in this video they made it a point to say that black women are afraid to seek healthcare is somewhat absurd because it's ALL women that feel this way.
There have been studies done and books written by medical professionals that clearly indicate the problem of systematic dismissal and outright disregard of women patients has been well established.
And as a woman I can confirm this to be true, and it doesn't matter if one is a patient of a female doctor or a male doctor, the outcomes are still the same. I will never again go to any doctor's appointment without my husband. (I've experienced going to any doctor alone and versus when my husband accompanied me, and I can tell you there is a stark difference, if he's there to confirm my symptoms the doctor will look at him for confirmation after I finish describing my symptoms, and then take me seriously. When I go by myself, I am definitely not even being heard.)
It's just beyond insanity that even in the year 2024 women patients are still being dismissed and ignored by the very people that are supposed to provide medical care! 🤬

No one talks about it. See the exceptions below:
    1) To save the pregnant person's life.

They "only" suffer massive blood loss, suffer pain for days, some become infertile or have other severe or longer health complications. Aside from the trauma the recovery time will be longer. The doctors are not at all sure that they are is SAFE legal territory or they would perform a D & C right away. The procedure is easy, safe and does not take long - it is not even a surgery. So WHY do they let the women wait for care ? because the state of the woman has to be so bad that doctors are justified in intervening DESPITE the laws or the objections of administratos. And sometimes that gamble goes terribly wrong.

I wish this procedure would not happen. I wish women would take intercourse more seriously and not just be taken by passions that bring about consequences.
    Intercourse, consequences.
Why not put measures in between intercourse and consequences. Take measures to prep your body to block the consequences of intercourse.
This would avoid reckless contraceptive: like very late term abortion. The cruelty of exiting a fetus out of the host at a point when the fetus can live outside the body is beyond cruelty.
There’s been over 63million abortions. Not all were grape or inc-es-t. Plan your life before having intercourse women. There has to be well written material to add the exceptions like grape, in-ce-st or the life of the woman. Being afraid is entirely different thing and should not disband the overturn of Roe v Wade.
Unfortunately bc some women are proud when told what to do with unborn babies trapped in their body, the government has to bend to these reckless individuals who use abortion as a contraceptive and make this terrible option an option. To these individuals know there are ppl who are advocating for the life you hold within you. There are options other than this method of reckless contraceptive.
The best one is no sex til marriage, next best followed by plan for the right person to engage in these unions who is willing to do right by you and your child if a pregnancy is a result of your unions.
Protection protection protection even before you engage. Think of intercourse like you are signing up to have a child… bc that’s exactly what happens when these unions happen. The body goes into baby making mode.
If you find yourself with an unplanned pregnancy, accept what you and whoever have done, deal with it today; don’t wait - immediately seek help if this baby news is a crisis for you. I hope you would keep it, if not give him/her up for adoption (they will thank you), but do not be that person cruel to wait when that baby is fully formed and can live outside the host to get that contraceptive procedure all bc you are a stubborn host that says her body is hers.
It’s not the end of the world to be pregnant with a baby. Many of us have gone through unplanned pregnancies. My son is the best thing that could have ever happened to me and this world, by the way. He’s perfect.
God help us bc we allow this procedure. It’s no wonder why America is failing as a country, like a curse with radical Joe/Kamala policies and a divided America.
I get why Jesus said ‘render to Ceaser what’s Ceasers and render to God what’s Gods’. Presidents represent a stubborn ppl in a government and have to render to it what it demands with as much percentage that they could to what God meant for good: live babies and this procedure is clearly not that.
This doesn’t mean that God will not judge those that do not repent of this procedure, that He will not judge the land where this procedure takes place.

It is a feature of Republicans ("Conservatives") that they have no empathy beyond their circles and cannot think in abstractions (how does this affect others, even if it likely never will impact ME). These women and men do not think they would need an abortion. And if so - they plan to secretly get one (flying out of state, they can afford to take a week off and to pay for good care). Screw the others that can't afford it, I got mine.
But the more states enact these draconian laws the longer they would have to drive. A miscarriage does not rhyme well with hours of driving and they might not be accepted as passengers of a flight.
Of course affluent Republican women can arrange for safe and conveniently scheduled abortions in blue states. The mother daughter trips for Hawaii for instance. No protesters in front of the buildings so they can pull it off discreetly and return home from the vacation.

Women need to be protected from the terror that the government might arrested them! This medication is also needed in early miscarriage when the fetus is not evacuated. My sister needed it 2 years ago. Right now, she wouldn't be able to get a D&C, either. This is why non-professional have no business regulating healthcare. Even when abortion was illegal in the US women received D&C as a routine care for miscarriage, like my mom did when she miscarried at 18 weeks. Those laws are dangerous and absurd.

No where in the Bible does it say that abortion is a sin
it is important to recognize that although the Bible was written at a time when abortion was practiced, it never directly addresses the issue. However, in exodus 21 it explains that a woman’s life is worth more her a fetus.

The problem in the REAL WORLD with such laws (even when there are provisions for the life and health of the pregnant woman): It is not like a) the woman is 100 % safe or b) she is going to die for sure. And the doctors and the hospital admin SEE a RISK or they would not wait with a simple, safe and easy procedure that is STANDARD care in first world countries. The woman was not misdiagnosed. Doctors knew the best practices for such a scenario, and it was an easy procedure (d & c is not even classified as surgery).
They just figured out they had a good reason to delay it. And likely they were not cavalier about it and would have prefered to be able to do it right away.
Their gamble is: We walk a fine line, we wait until it is overwhelmingly obvious that the woman is in grave danger.
Then neither a prosecutor, nor the religious nuts, nor our own bosses or the insurance company that covers liability, nor the people that decide over (extra) private or state funding for our hospital ! will have ANY doubt we could have acted otherwise.
We might keep our job, not become a a target of (violent) rightwingers, and not be sued into oblivion or prosecuted by the law. We might keep our liability insurance.
The problem of the "strategic delay" until it is "bad enough beyond any doubt": even IF there is NO lasting harm, the woman might bleed profusely and suffer pain, likely recovery takes longer. And sometimes the GAMBLE goes horribly wrong. Especially if there is a septic infection, that can escalate quickly and unexpectedly.
There are plenty of abortions OR miscarriages that do not need after care. But IF there is a remote chance there could be problems, doctors will do a D & C in any first world country (w/o stupid laws). It is an easy and fast procedure, very safe. Can ward off a lot of serious problem. W/o any laws that hinder them, doctors err on the side of medical safety. Under these laws they err on the side of personal / hospital safety. Maybe the doctors could have done the D & C immediately and would not have gotten into any trouble (not even with management).
      Maybe.
Problem: they were not sure and we know these exact same scenarios (doctors do not YET dare to act, they wait until it gets very obviously very bad) also from other nations with anti abortion laws. Think Ireland and Poland. All nations with anti abortion laws have the provision that the rights of the mother prevail over that of a fetus (or even an infant). In reality if the mood is so rabidly anti-abortion already (quite unusual in highly developed nations) the doctors assume that there will be zealotry. It is not safe for them to use best practices.
