      I wonder what will happen if a woman in a state where abortion is banned but guns are readily available demands an abortion at gunpoint and then cites self-defense laws afterwards. I'm certainly not advocating that in any way, but it seems like the logical result of telling a woman she has to die through a birth she can't possibly survive but she can also buy as many guns as she wants without restriction.

    40 years ago, this would have been my mother. Her fetus died at 18 weeks, but thankfully, she lived in Canada and was able to receive the medical care she needed. Not only did she preserve her fertility, but she was treated with dignity and kindness.
    My sister also needed medication to evacuate a dead fetus. She, too, received healthcare because she lives in Canada.
    I live in the US and I wonder why my daughter and her friends can't receive this basic level of care.

    I live in Europe, I had a normal birth just until my placenta came out and some part was missing. They had to do something about that and in the end had to do a D&C to make sure all was out and I didn't get an infection or would hemorrhage. It was necessary and I cannot wait for a second child. If I lived in the US, I wouldn't have been that lucky to get such post-natal care. So vote blue if you want women to be able to have the best healthcare possible (because procedures such as these save lives and enable women to get pregnant (again) in the future instead of dying or becoming sterile).
    Note: This is the arguement to give to pro-birthers, maybe they'll listen to that, thought I doubt it.

Not to mention that there is an abortion ritual in the Old Testament, and that a miscarriage caused by injury is not considered a murder in the Old Testament, but the death of the pregnant woman IS considered a murder. They cannot use the Bible to make their arguments. Then they have no desire to help the women once their babies are born. It's really just a form of punishment against women, because deep-seated misogyny has existed in our culture for thousands of years.

    I am going to comment again about the fact that the vast majority of people who are pro-life came to those beliefs due to religion. Doctors and scientists know the point at which an abortion would be cruelty to a fetus/baby. Therefore, saying that all abortion is murder is based upon religious idealologies. So, when the government intervenes, they are not only interfering in an individuals right to have control over their own health. These government officials are also proclaiming they know at least as much about healthcare as any doctor, yet last time I checked it is illegal to diagnose and treat a medical disorder if one is not a doctor. So, saying that no woman ever NEEDS to terminate a pregnacy (blatant misinformation that now too many people think is fact) and legislate to make sure no woman can have these procedures, they are in a sense giving out medical advice and that is wrong on so many levels.
    Now enter our first amendment rights. I have the right to believe and practice any religious (or non religious) philosophy I want to... as an individual who does not worship an Abrahamic/mainstream religion, the first amendment is one of my chief concerns. I know too many people that think religious persecution in America could never happen again. 🤦🏼‍♀️ And this is why history repeats itself over and over. They really don't think Trump making a statement like 'if you're not a Christian, you aren't an American is something to find concerning. Most also refuse to even consider the fact that their opinions on Abortion are based in which type of faith and religion is dominant in their lives. And, what really blows my mind is them saying a fetus has a soul from the moment of conception and yet not accepting that idea is based in religious belief. Point is that the government intruding into health and reproduction is beyond control over health, it is imposing one's beliefs onto someone else ignoring the first amendment and the fa

      @travisjohnson7065 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How exactly are you determining whether or not it's murder? It doesn't have to be "cruelty" to be murder. The fact remains that every single abortion is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being. And yes, of course the government should intervene to stop this and uphold the human right to life.

    • @thescarletgraywitch8052
      @thescarletgraywitch8052 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@travisjohnson7065 you just made my point. How are you determining that every case is the murder of an innocent human being instead of a 4 week old clump of cells? My point of cruelty is that there are limits. Aside from the most dire mortality risks, there's no one that would think allowing abortions of a 7 month old fetus is acceptable. It would be CRUEL. THAT is what I mean by cruelty, but i think anyone who actually read my comment without the predetermined bias you actually came into it with understood my point.
      On the other hand, any biologist knows that a zygote isn't even formed until three to four weeks, so literally a clump of cells, not an innocent human being.
      I will also make another point... I always knew that I would never be comfortable having an abortion and knew that for ME, it would feel wrong. BUT I would never force my viewpoint or feelings about something so personal onto other women. In general, a reasonable man would step back from this issue except for in the case of a man who would want the child to care for himself in which case something would have to be worked out between the two people involved.
      Other than that, until men can carry a baby for nine months and personally experience all the adjustments, hardships, and changes women must endure, as well as being in a situation where it effects employment opportunities and standard of living to such a drastic degree, men just don't have a right to weigh in on this, nor to judge women put in the position of having to chose. Women don't WANT to have abortions. They don't think it's a substitute for contraception. And with the exceptions of indigenous populations, it is not going to lead to some genocide. Fact is, there are already too many people on this planet. There is no reason to bring a child into this world unless that child is wanted, and the parents are willing to make the sacrifices necessary for a child. And for all those people that seem to think people willing to adopt are a dime a dozen, it is not true. We still have orphanages and children's homes because there are too many people that can not or will not care for a child. Add to that the fact that it is not easy to get help financially to help with a child. If a woman needs to work, they do not get an adequate maternity leave in America, their health care is not magically paid for just because the woman is pregnant. The bunch of conservative Christians out there protesting outside of clinics are the same people that are not even willing to pay higher taxes for ensure a good education is available, good and comprehensive healthcare, nutritious meals, and worthwhile childcare for that mother that needs to work two or three jobs because even subsidized, childcare is too expensive for most single women or men.
      There is so much that has to go into deciding how to make the best future for themselves, and eventually, a child but I know, you don't care... you only care about a clump of cells than can not even react to stimuli yet. 😒

      @@thescarletgraywitch8052 So what are you saying, that no abortions are ever murder, or that some can be? And if so, what is the metric you're using?
      It's an innocent human being regardless of when they are killed. A human being as evidenced by basic biology, and innocent until proven guilty of anything.
      Yes, all human beings are literally clumps of cells. Name one who isn't. Or for that matter, cite one biologist on earth who denies that the unborn are human beings. Go ahead, find a single one, take all the time you need.

      @travisjohnson7065 at this point you cannot be convinced of anything, so why don’t you do yourself and everyone on this planet a favor and remove yourself from the census please?

      @@silverhowl9331 Yeah, that's the funny thing about the truth, it stays true no matter what. But of course you wouldn't know because it's not on your side.
