@@Jaycation Yes! Many of them including the butterfly garden in this one and many of the other places you showcase. My girlfried and I are trying to gradually visit all of the missions. Hope to see you out and about some time!
Another North County hidden gem is the Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve. It's a beautiful hike and there's a lake at the top of the mountain. Keep repping San Diego man! Your doing the city/county good. And congrats on the new subs. I tell everybody about you channel and I hope everyone else does to!
Thanks! That means a lot! I plan to do inland North county at some point. I know there are plenty of hidden gems in the area like Elfin Forest! Thanks for sharing the channel! I appreciate that
Thank you Diane! I appreciate it! The Missions definitely are a part of history and should be covered. I hope to return and cover it San Luis Rey a little more.
Ah! Thanks for hitting up North County. I love this series! I don’t have Facebook. Maybe you can do a round up video of what other locals are recommending. 😃
I love the hidden gems series! So many interesting places to see and do. You have such knowledge and and much enthuiasm for what you do .Keep making these wonderful videos .You will continue to have great success!
Another nice video on your behalf and had the like button struck before the video was even over, great job and post as much as you can on this your city and other places...👍🙌🏼👍👏🏻👌
Dude, you forgot Queen Califia's Magic Circle in Escondido. Limited hours, might even be closed due to Covid. Close to the frisbee golf course. Excellent photo opportunities and such a back story. I luv CA & so grateful to live here!
Hi Michelle! I actually plan to do Queen Califia's once things get better and I do a Hidden Gems inland North County. Thanks for the rec! Glad you love CA and found my channel.
I lived in Escondido for about 31 years. I used to really like walking at kit Carson park in the early mornings and late afternoon. I also played tennis there about 6 days a week. It is a huge beautiful park. There’s also a LOT of good Mexican restaurants and a few good Chinese restaurants there and a good Vietnamese restaurant there, Saigon express.
Jay, thank you so much for your content. 24 year Oceanside military transplant from Texas. Mission San Luis Rey is a perfect picnic area anytime. Currently away from my home (Oceanside) and family. Being in Japan the taste of home you provide in these videos is much appreciated, Mahalo, Coach
Moonlight State Beach looks awesome! Carinderia is all over the Philippines where people eat different Filipino special dishes! Great video Jaycation! Keep vlogging!
Another great video! I used to hike Calaveras a few times a week when I lived in Carlsbad. Lots of cool trails and great views. The peacocks at Leo Carrillo are fun to check out. Carlsbad has a lot more than people think. And famous water!
Calavera looks like a fun hike! Also, i wish i got to see the peacocks and ranch but apparently the storm was strong enough the day before to close it down... oh well i shall return!
Before the pandemic, two events that the San Luis Rey Mission has each year that is worth attending, is the Dia Los Muertos celebration and Inter-tribal Powwow.
With the first Moderna in, I'm looking forward to move around more and now I have a Filipino place in Encinitas, so my first order will be Salmon Sisig with garlic rice and maybe Halo Halo.
Congrats on Round 1! I am glad you can move around soon. One step closer to Jon and Adriana visiting! The Filipino spot is nice, I'd recommend maybe going with the Pork sisig or Chicken Adobo, but the Salmon Sisig was alright! Definitely the Halo-Halo!
Congrats on your increase sub count. Reason I subscribed because I lived in San Macros for over 20 years and I just know my surrounding areas. With your content I am able to discover other areas that I didn’t knew existed. So when I have friends and family visit from Jersey or Florida. I can be a jaycationer tour guide lol.

If you’re a person who likes fishing Escondido has a couple of good lakes to fish and lake wofford is just outside of escondido. Lake Hodges is a good place to fish for lunker smallmouth bass. There are other lakes close by. Donner pond on top of Mt. Palomar offers fishing then there’s lake henshaw east of mt. Palomar.
I think I would like to try the philippino food in San Diego. I went to a place out where I live now and just walking into the take out place made me wanna 😩 😫 gag!
