Love it. SD is one of my, if not most, favorite CA cities. Used to visit yearly until the pandemic. Itching to go now and visit some of these places. Keep up the great (CA) videos (smaller, less know towns as well)!
I recently discovered your channel. I watched your trip up PCH from beginning to end. It was fun revisiting places I’ve been before & new places to discover! Definitely a fan! Safe travels!
This guy's amazing His videos are super helpful for me, especially because he travels with kids sometimes, so he gives tips to make your trip more enjoyable. 🎉🎉 Thanks to you, I had a great time in San diego Los angeles San jose San francisco I'm planning to keep it up as long as my budget allows me to 🎉 Be nice to everyone it makes things easier for all.
A great video again. We hope to come back to California soon, San Diego is on our list, too. We are big fans of murals, so we really love the bookstore with the Stephen King Painting. Maybe you can make a Mural-Video from California someday? Waiting for your next video from California or everywhere else in the USA! Greetings from Germany!
Great SD trip. It’s a great town. I’ve been there many times over the years but feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. I love that book shop. If you like books, next time you in Ojai, don’t miss Barts Books. It also has shops I think Amy would love along the arcade. Check out Fig. Also Rains Department store. The Gas Lamp district in SD has great places. I will have to check out El Gordo next time I’m there. Got my 5 speed Corolla there. So hard to find a five speed but they were more plentiful in SD. Thanks for all the great recommendations. And def no SD trip is complete without visiting La Jolla.
It's been a few decades since I went to San Diego as a kid and I don't remember much. Now I realize that I need to go back! Also, if you like historic carousels, I'd recommend checking out House on the Rock if you're ever in Wisconsin! Not your normal neck of the woods, I know, but just in case! It's the strangest place I've ever been, and they do have a giant carousel in part of it.
I used to live in north park about 11 years ago and it’s crazy to see how about 75% of the shops, bars, restaurants and breweries weren’t there back then, and many of my favorite spots have all gone (Tiger Tiger, Toronado, Bar Pink)
Been living here 24 years. Tacos el Gordo is dang legit. I've also found that TJ Tacos and Fridas Tacos are amazing in North SD. Taqueria Hoy and Taqueria De Anda are great in Orange County. This is honestly one of the better "check out San Diego" videos I've ever seen for the tourist. If you're a local, there's more hidden nuggets to seek out, but this video is basically the "speed run" of San Diego everyone should take. Also, if you love mothership for its theme, check out a coffee shop in Anaheim called Requiem. It's fantasy and scifi themed, kinda similar in some ways. It kinda looks like if you took all the games Blizzard games made, and shoved them into one building.
The first time I was in San Diego, in 1992, there was this burger joint in 50s style. Is it still there? I'd love to eat there again when I go to SD in October.
HI, what time did you guys start the tour? Trying to figure out how long it wold take if i want to do the sane itinerary. Also I guess you guys went from one place to another by car
I've been to the Whaley House probably 10 times (husband loves anything haunted) and while I've never seen anything myself, my brother-in-law has caught a couple of unexplained things on camera while we were there with him. In one, we were on a tour and he got a photo of a blurry lady, that was absolutely not there. I'm always skeptical, but that was pretty weird.
We were beach dwellers …who walked to the seawall most evenings to see the exact same view…cloudless sky, red horizon, sun looking as if it might cause the Pacific to boil as the fiery orb fell off…the edge of the world.
Glad you are focusing on nice areas that haven’t yet been destroyed in California. Other videos focus on LA or SF, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and all the stores boarded up, trash, graffiti and how these once thriving cities are now a shell of what they used to be.
Hey Josh, if you are into bookstores, Ryan halliday owns the painted porch in Bastrop Texas, you may have heard of cerro gordo ghost town and Brent underwood... Well Ryan is his friend... Definitely two places we're going to head to next time we are in the states
Recent visitor to SF and SD. Other than Golden Gate being iconic really hated it. SD on the other hand was a very pleasant surprise. There's something nice about being able to park in a lot and not walk over broken glass...
San Diego is sooooo beautiful. The weather is perfect, the scenery and the beaches. My favorite California city❤️
San Diego is fantastic.

Beautiful San Diego! Great views everywhere! I’ve never seen it in person but you bring it to life! Thank you Josh and Amy!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏
I love the travel adventures of "Through My Lens"... Beautiful camera work; wonderful narrative, and perfect travel companions. 😊 ❤
Thank you, really appreciate that!
Perfect timing! Taking the family to San Diego for July 4th long weekend. Definitely going to try the food stops and sights.

Hi from Argentina!
Your California videos give me years of life. Thank you for making them. 🤩
Absolutely love your video! San Diego is my favorite place to visit. I can't wait to go back!
I ❤ San Diego!! I will have to try out some of these places next time I am back! Thanks Josh and Amie
No problem! Hope you enjoy it!

I agree, San Diego is one of my favorite places as well!
Wow
I need to get to San Diego, only been as far as Newport Beach. Not enough time to travel further. Thank you for showing me the best places to visit!
Just discovered your channel...amazing! We visited LA and SF last year for the first time (from UK)...still think about it!

I grew up living in north park.❤
Another great video! Superb camera work & editing!
Great video Josh and Amie! Me and my wife love San Diego. Have done several things on this list!
So awesome you have experienced some of these places as well!
OMG... North Park is nothing what I remember. Fabulous!!!
It really is a great spot
Sunset Cliffs absolutely stunning
Agree 100%
We were there June 17-22. It is a nice place to visit. San Diego zoo ticket cost $70 per person. Nice Mall and beaches.
Ya the zoo is incredible but pricey. Hope you enjoyed SD!
As a lifelong San Diegan, well done Amy and Josh! Prop's from Ocean Beach/Sunset Cliffs🎉 oh my father was a pilot in Nam,on the Midway 🎉

Hard to beat
Perfect timing. I'm going to SD for the 4th of July weekend.
I hope you have a great time!
Awesome views
It’s a beautiful place for sure
I also went 3 months ago to Midway Museum. The bad thing is that we had to meet with the family at La Jolla beach and couldt stay longer.
It's been a few decades since I went to San Diego as a kid and I don't remember much. Now I realize that I need to go back!

Sounds awesome, I would love to check it out

It has changed a ton over the years

It was great to see Amie again in your videos. Also, What? No Donuts??????
Haha not this time. Good donuts in SD though!
Yes to the miniature train musem!
It’s so epic!
Always good to see the boss lady ms aime
Always fun to travel with her!
This guy's amazing
Great stuff!!
Sweet and perfect video 👍
I love your videos! May I ask, what kind of dash cam do you have? I'm thinking of buying one.
I love San Diego. thanks for the memories. I grew up in Simi Valley
but now live in Tennessee.
how about some Simi Valley videos??? 😊
Great suggestion! Maybe in the future!
Love Liberty Station!!!
Check out Cabrillo National Monument next time.
Love that spot as well!
I want to do THIS !!
Tacos El Gordo looks awesome :)
Next time you’re in San Diego, you must try the delicious Açaí Bowl at Northside Shack. It’s past the Verbatim book store.
No fish tacos? The book store looks amazing!!!
Not this time but great fish tacos down there for sure
Good fish tacos in SD too I hear 🌮
Oh yes! So many good spots
Hey Josh, I have a quick question, what do you use to track your travel expenses? It has been a pain for me. Thanks a bunch. Bret
I have been using this app called "TravelSpend" this summer and have enjoyed it. Not sure if I will stick with it but I have liked it a lot so far.
@@californiathroughmylens Thanks Josh, greatly appreciated. Bret
Across the street from the Whaley house is Old Town Mexican Cafe. Best Mexican food in the entire world.
I've been to the Whaley House probably 10 times (husband loves anything haunted) and while I've never seen anything myself, my brother-in-law has caught a couple of unexplained things on camera while we were there with him. How Amie is not vegetarian anymore 😂 btw, as always we enjoyed your content, you’re an amazing storyteller
Have you checked out the Fred Flinstone Restaurant?
Tacos El Gordo has several locations in Las Vegas… yummy!
I always go to those on the way through Vegas haha
Great falls Montana check out sip n dip lounge it has mermaids
Enchanted Forest Ann Turner Oregon theme with nursery rhymes
Oh you gotta visit me !!! You promised !!!
Is parking a hassle? (Other than what you mentioned by the beach to watch the sunset.)
We were beach dwellers …who walked to the seawall most evenings to see the exact same view…cloudless sky, red horizon, sun looking as if it might cause the Pacific to boil as the fiery orb fell off…the edge of the world.
Parking can be challenging near gaslamp. It’s generally not too bad on weekdays but it is tough on weekends
Glad you are focusing on nice areas that haven’t yet been destroyed in California. Other videos focus on LA or SF, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and all the stores boarded up, trash, graffiti and how these once thriving cities are now a shell of what they used to be.
Every places has its positives and negatives. I do try to focus on the positives though
Check out Dodge City in the Land of Oz road trip Kansas great for children
Just watch the video glacier view River retreat in Alaska
👏👏👏👏
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Tacos El Gordo is overrated. As for someone who goes to Tijuana so many times, I have some recommendations for places to eat in TJ.
If you like sculpture gardens Porter sculpture gardens South Dakota
😍👏👍☺️😌
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Are all these spots pet friendly?
I'm born and raised in San Diego and not once have I had a perfect day.
Hey Josh, if you are into bookstores, Ryan halliday owns the painted porch in Bastrop Texas, you may have heard of cerro gordo ghost town and Brent underwood... Well Ryan is his friend... Definitely two places we're going to head to next time we are in the states
Would love to check that out, thanks for the tips!
I love you.
I love you!
And when you're in South Dakota don't forget to get the map to help you find all the presidents on every corner
Never turn your back on the ocean, for real..
Guh`morning C.T.M.L.
.
Good morning!
great place but overprice
A perfect day in San Diego would be somewhere else. Tony took his Heart in San Francisco with him.
Recent visitor to SF and SD. Other than Golden Gate being iconic really hated it. SD on the other hand was a very pleasant surprise. There's something nice about being able to park in a lot and not walk over broken glass...
An aircraft carrier is most definitely not a BOAT. Good grief…
First!
Well done!
Should’ve went to the hood
Been here for 45 years. Literally, the most overrated city in the world. Lmao
It's a great video.
I am a creator who introduces Korea.
Let's be friends!🤩🤩🤩
I need to get to San Diego, only been as far as Newport Beach. Not enough time to travel further. Thank you for showing me the best places to visit!
San Diego is def one of my favorite cities in the USA. It’s a special place for sure
