    Mato, thank you for keeping your uploads concise and to the point. Too many video instructors take forever to say absolutely nothing twice but you keep things to the point. Please don't stop.

    The Reti's my favorite opening for white when I'm feeling like playing more quietly - very awesome seeing Kasparov turn it into a wrecking ball in this game. Please more Reti opening videos Mato! Can't get enough.

    I am learning a lot from your videos . Its all about winning the game than winning a piece.

    To me, learning chess is all about thinking ahead. As with good drivers, good chess players can anticipate play several moves ahead. I'm learning to raise my visual field upward to see farther down the road.

    Kasparov would still have threat of checkmate with Queen and Knight. You don't want to sacrifice pieces unless you will gain something in return.
    Kasparov's motto: "When you see it...it's already too late."

    Well.. personally, i have plenty of openings. My favourite is Yugoslav attack after a Dragon Sicilian. But Reti seems to be very cool and useful. Mato, could you please upload a video with Nc3 opening ( i do not know the name ). I would like to see if it is worthed playing or not.

  • @AvangionQ

    Why did black play knight F6-D2? Why not bishop F8-E7? That blocks the F pawn from being targeted by the white queen and allows for a king-side castle on the next turn.

    2:19. If queen goes to E3 I think black would prefere the family fork over rook takes knight, Mato, don't you think? Isn't Queen to D4 a better move in that position all together? Thank you for the videos, Mato.

    As a beginner u must be careful with this opening. If u decide to castle kingside u can end up in a world of trouble. Now ill go back and try it but without castling.

  • @eltrapo8784

    At move 8 instead of sacrificing the knight to defent checkmate, why not block with Be7???

    • @Ayoman12
      @Ayoman12 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The knight would capture the e6 pawn to threaten the queen, and consequently the rook.

      T

    • @eltrapo8784

  • @redzus583

      It opens up the diagonal and reveals the b7 weakness to White's bishop.

    Taimanov is no patzer. To win a miniature in such a well known opening shows how far above his contemporaries Kasparov was.

  • @franckferrante6614
    @franckferrante6614 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    You have to be a champion to play like that cuz white was under developed and only 2 pieces did play. Difficult to imagine that black resign on move 14th.

  • @ОлегОвчинников-к6ц

    4:53 white could just play 1.Bxe4, threatening to captiure the bishop on g6 with bishop. Then black would be compelled to play 1..f5, and after 2.Qxc6 it's easily winning for white, aren't it?

    • @tomas-wi8dy
      @tomas-wi8dy 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Олег Овчинников
      Wright now I saw this game, and saw the 14 Bxe4 move (4:52 to 4:53), I think black is lost, not work for him 14. ... Qc8, 15. Bc6+ Kd8 16.Nxg6! move away any chance to survive for Na1
      I not see nothing good for black.
      even 14. Bxc6+ after 13. Bxe4 f5 is killer in this position.

  • @KidNoah2012
    @KidNoah2012 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I smell a fix. It is impossible for a grandmaster of Taimanov's calibre to play that badly. Obviously the R.C.F rigged it beforehand to advance the up and coming Kasparov's career. I could see this working against a club player but that's about all.

    • @Kimmo788
      @Kimmo788 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It is not a fix. Even Karpov has wasted bishop or knight for nothing in his Official game. Even grandmasters are humans, and make mistakes. That's why they sometimes lose very badly.
