I'm confused. Increasing from a row of 18dc, by doing 2dc in each stitch, would equal 36dc in part 3... Not 38. Am I missing something that explains the 38 or am I counting correctly at 36?

watching the video adding the ribs later makes the creation of it look so much more straight forward. Your instructions reading them I am a little confused however. 18dc (1 Stitch 2dc, 1stitch in between) Does this mean that I am doing 2DC in a stitch and in the next one only doing 1DC?------Watched the video more closely and I do see this is what you mean

I am confused on Part 6, row one, do I start with single crochet for the first 2stitches? And is the rest of the row double crochet or single crochet? Please advise me 😊
It was difficult to figure it out tbh took me a few try’s when you start with the chain3 then dc then you make it to back to the chain 3 your gonna go in the third link in that chain before the dc

I followed the pattern and did that area 3xs and came up with same amount of stitches at 36 not 38. Which would make the rest of the stitch count off by 2.
Don’t forget the stitch where you’ve chained. That used to be my problem when I started out. It’s usually the same stitch you’ve slipped stitch into in the previous round. Put your first dc in there.

I think they didn’t add a part to that I think it’s 1st 2dc-1st 1dc

There is a couple of variations of this hat on here maybe one of those would be easier??
Watch at the end of that round, they added two extra dc into the bottom of the beginning chain. Making the 36 into 38 dc.

Try threading it with craft wire or pipe cleaners on the inside
I plan to lightly stuff the end and sew in a little crochet circle cap on the inside so the stuffing doesn't spill out

On my hats I make a hdl crochet all the way around and then a whole round of ss. It makes the brim stiffer and a little more moldable.

Instructions are not clear to me. Having a hard time starting.

I think she is adding 2 dc's into the false stitch. That is what it looks like in the video.
