Could we get some more shooting with the gauntlet to be uploaded and maybe some hunting for pigeon or something with it. I think everyone wants to see what this thing realy has to offer.

Off the bat your looking at 3000 psi giving you 65 to 75 shots for the .177 11.5 grain at 908- 920 fps with the .22 lets say 855-875 fps with 14.3 grain premier these are my readings is it worth it ?? fuck yaaa!!!

I absolutely love my Gauntlet!! It is much more accurate than my Marauder!!! My .177 will group 10 shots in a dime size bullseye at 50 yards!! I have been hammering squirrels at 30-40 yards using 10.3 grain JSB Diablos!!!! All head shots!!!!!!!
I am really interested in the fact U rate the Gauntlet over the Maurader
It is consistently more accurate past the 35 yard mark. At 50 yards my Marauder groups 10 shots in a half dollar group size. My Umarex groups in a dime size. It has a more balanced feel than my Maurader. I like my Marauder but I love my Gauntlet!

Happy Days! This might be the rifle for me, to get into PCP's. Was looking at Weihrauch HW 110ST, and Ataman M2R. A little costly. I love my break barrel, but would like to try PCP's.

Great starter, plinker and small game gun. I own several PCPS (28) lol from FX thru Daystates and everything in between. This Gauntlet in .177 is really peaking my interest. Regulated and accurate for $300 what else does a person want to plink in the backyard with!!! Who cares if the stock is a little cheap, Polish and lube the trigger and I'd bet you have a GREAT SHOOTER!!! I want one in .177 Has anyone tested one in the .177 caliber?? Is accuracy as good as the .22?? I bet this gun will be a huge start up pcp for many spring gun shooter!! Great gun Umarex
The gun we tested is the only pre-production test rifle out so far, but as it gets closer to release I'm sure you'll see a .177 out there. Possibly lucky number 29 pcp for you!
I learned a trick many many golden halo harvest moons ago. 100% silicon. With the thinning of circuit boards in devices like tv's and stereo's. Manufactures cheapen them up to save cost. The boards vibrate causing damage and high frequency noise. You can make them solid by gaking the bejesus out of them with silicon. Apply the same principle here. It also helps absorb shock for quicker follow-up shooting.

Notice the targets all bent. This is not meant for anything over 20fpe. The Benjamin Max is best value. I paid $245 for rifle and a pump i purchased from ebay.
if you only pump to 2000 how many shots do you get in .22 cal ?
Guys, great review. I'm really excited about this PvP given the price point. REALLY want the .25 if and when it comes out. Based on your experience, do you think the .25 will also be backyard friendly as well? Are 25s generally louder than 22s?
You're correct in your assumptions, takes a lot more to silence a .25 then a .22. All depends on how much volume Umarex leaves for the sound to silence.

very well could have been. I know they have been fine tuning since we got this pre-production model to make sure it delivers on all levels (which is why the release date got moved back to August)

Im sorry, couldn’t help it. Cameron was great in this review, this has been the best video I have seen so far. I just ordered this rifle, tank, scope combo. Can’t wait! My first PCP and 2 days ago I was ready to buy the Marauder. I love the fact this is regulated.

I once had a big problem with the first pcp rifle I bought,was a Benjamin Discovery,when rifle arrived it had no air in tank,so no big deal right ! wrong,I was using a hand pump and could not get it to hold air,needed a high burst of pressure to form a seal,I was told from Benjamin CS,which I could not do,so returned rifle,my question here is will this rifle have air in tank and I don`t want to have same experience again

How does it shot slugs? it should have a barre liner just for slugs like the FX rifles.

Great, some competition for the HPA'd Hammerli 850s! Seems too good to be true. Umarex just needs to work on its customer service now. Lots of horror stories about getting warranty Guns back not fixed and with missing parts.
what about the chipped paint in the safety?
I'm thinking about getting a pcp either diana stormrider, gamo chacal or umarex gauntlet. This one looks a bit too bulky and heavy....
The barrel appears to need a band as it is a bit wobbly at that unsupported length.
Shame its only 60 shots ... If it would push up to 100 then maybe .... I wonder if it would fit longer bottle ?

Hi guys. can I shoot below the regulated 1100 psi like the Hatsan Airmax ? because Hatsan say , U can get 450 shots (.22 ) until the "bottle" is empty for air ! Did U or can U do a check on the Airmax (.22) ??? I just can find tyrkish videos. I don´t understand these guys but I wach them in case I get some numbers! Thanks guys!!

Again. is there an issue with "hammer bounce" with this PCP ? Or does anyone know yet ? Or does anyone know what I'm talking about ? Am I not asking the question properly ? In case I'm not, I'm asking if the hammer repeatedly strikes the regulator once the trigger is pulled causing unnecessary air discharge / leakage from the bottle.

I thought the gun was coming with the same fully adjustable trigger that is in the QB Chief.
We thought so as well, but we had an pre-production rifle so we'll have to wait and see what the full production model is like.

The tin of jsb pellets I bought were nearly all bent or warped on the skirt end. Useless, expensive, crap are three of the words come to mind when I hear jsb mentioned.

Powerpickle68 - yeah for one tin. $26 dollars for a tin of these everybody loves ‘em pellets that I hear reports of the pellet skirts needing to be reshaped before use and then I get my tin with so many damage. Never had an issue with the crosman pellets. Not even one pellet messed nobvy

Im in your waiting list for the .177 with 3 extra magazines to be shipped upon arrival, since I do not have any air rifles of that Caliber on PCP's. If there is a .25 cal regulated I will purchase one too! Thank you guys for the good news and for keeping us informed. I would like to see a Target shooting demo on the .177. Can you guys at least try to show the two calibers in action?

How hard would it be to place a bipod on this for bench shooting?
We are told that the full production Gauntlet will just have sling studs, no swivels. so that means you should be able to mount a bipod using the stud.
Is the H&N grizzly pellets good at 50 yard
I'm between this and the Kral Puncher Breaker - AEAC is doing a review on the Kral and Steve's Facebook posts show some pretty impressive results from that gun too. I like the idea of the Gauntlet but the size and some of the awkward design choices are holding it back - I'm sure their revision of it in a couple years will be amazing. I understand the Ninja tank is their cheap way of regulating it but I would much prefer a sleeker air cylinder. We'll see, so far it looks like an amazing rifle that is truly going to continue the trend of bringing PCPs to the mass market.
Agreed on the Kral being very interesting, that's why we got it in Steve's hands right away so he could really push it and see what it can do.

T and T Outdoors Yeah I saw the AEAC review of the Breaker, absolutely awesome. I'm glad I got into PCPs last year with the Disco and P-rod. There are some great options for my next rifle, it's going to be hard to choose one but the Kral is at the top of the list.
I had the gamo coyote and I can tell you that kral arms puncher is very impressive. I use the 16 gr fx domed and I am getting a solid 5 full clips or 60 shots and taking game at 60 plus yards without an issue. I just ordered the kral puncher mega in 22 for my nephew.
The barrel resting on the plastic mount, hurts my insides. Haha. Nice gun tho.

On a serious note, good vid guys, and a possible game changer here. Although I am mostly a Big Bore shooter, I just re-entered the Pellet shooter arena recently. (The Maximus in .22) Would have liked to have had the opportunity to look the Gauntlett over before purchace.
As many have said though. The new Maximus paired with the JSB 18's is a real winner. As in under 1/4" at 30 yards for some.
Looking forward to seeing the Gauntlet in the hand of shooters soon.

How would this compare to Hatsan BT-65 .22 cal (or even .25 cal, since that's what I have my eyes on, even tho it's not really comparable to this .22 cal Umarex)? I'm looking for some "budget" PCP rifle to get into that shooting, and Hatsan has been the one I have mostly eye-balled. But this seems like an interesting choice, being cheaper and with built-in regulator.
The main difference is that the Hatsan's will give you much more power, especially the BT65. That and I'd say they are much more rugged for field work. So they are more hunting oriented than the Gauntlet.

I can't believe it they bring this gun to the SHOT show said that they and step it up and that the other companies are going to have to take notice but then they put a bad trigger in the gun would they put a bad trigger in the gun looks like to me it looks like a Benjamin Marauder with a regulator in it why did they use the Benjamin Marauder trigger they make a good trigger
Fair question, but the reality is getting the price to $300 involves some concessions. Some people may be more interested in spending more for these premium features.

i noticed you don't see them using the hand pump to fill the gun, so far I've never seen a video of anyone claiming using a hand pump for filling is a good way to get into PCP's actually use a hand pump to fill a PCP. ....
Quadflopper101 I hand pump... When it's at 3000 psi, I can get 25 shots and refill from there in 5 mins of pumping... It'll get 50-60 shots but who wants to pump for 15-20 mins??? Not me

Man, I just recently got into air gunning. I am no novice of firearms by any means but all you air gun guys make it hard to not want to own everything thats out there with these awesome reviews. My entire family received airguns for x-mas this year (break barrels) as small game hunting with air guns has become legal. I am almost upset that this rifle didn't come out earlier. However I am on the fence with purchasing this vs what I have seen from some higher dollar guns. I know you have done 50 yard tests but how does it shoot up to 100 yards. Is it capable of the accuracy I see from the FX guns at that range.
Glad you've been converted to airguns! To answer your question, though this gun has good accuracy, its hard to compare it to accuracy of an FX or other such rifle. Especially at farther distances, its just not going to be the same. That said, for the money it seems to have similar accuracy as guns twice its price.

Great video guys! is the barrel inside that shroud straw in size? can you give us a wall and OD thickness on them both .177 & .22 ? is there anyway to install a bi pod? and last the muzzle looks to have a removable cap, can you add an additional moderator? Thx.
Where we only had this for a few days, and to needed to go back to Umarex, we weren't able to tear it apart. The end was not removable but not sure how the full production model will be.

We haven't heard about that issue.
Can I put a bipod on this air rifle?
Not really. It has a sling stud but because of its position bipods don't mount well. Some people modify the shroud to accept a picatinny rail and mount a bipod on it.

Well, some of it comes down to how soon you want to be shooting. Gauntlet won't ship until August. Bit it is regulated which is a nice plus. The Marauder is at a nice lower price through June right now. Both have about the same power. If you prefer a wood stock then the Marauder has that as an option. They should have similar accuracy. Thanks! As a little background, I am a powder burner that's looking to get some practice without burning through ammo. Was thinking a PCP would be a good practice setup to 100yds. Still a toss up?
Both of these guns can get to 100 yards, but are not the most accurate at that distance. If you're just ringing steel no problem, but if you crave extreme accuracy you'll need to spend a little more and possible consider .25 cal to buck the wind.
I have a syn-rod. Shot over 1500 rounds so far. It's a bit heavy. And un- regulated. Meaning as your pressure falls in the tank the effect down range will vary, sometimes alot. And it's loud in the city. Sounds like a really loud nail gun. At night your in trouble. From what I hear on the video ..this puppy is far more quite then my Marauder. So hell yeah I'd say to anyone hell yeah buy this gun. And to look what a marauder costs.
As for recharging mine - I have an aluminum scuba tank with paint ball refiller. Costs me about $5.00 to fill and $15.00 for a re-fill and annual inspection w/refill. Using a hand pump has never entered my mind. I'll sweat for my pay check. But not so much just to have fun hunting and shooting.

Actually neither the 22 or 25 has come out yet. 25 should be out next year most likely
Does it feel nose heavy when shooting offhand?
Perhaps a tad nose heavy, but that could be that I only like gripping the gun in front of the bottle housing, which didn't give my hand much leverage. With the short time we had it, we mainly spent shooting off bags.

Do you think a bullpup conversion will be available sometime?
We hope so! Bullpup conversions have been available for the QB78/79 for some time, and there are some basic similarities with the Gauntlet. We would love to see someone convert the Gauntlet to bullpup.

Yes, in either caliber, although we recommend the .22 for pesting and small game.

pretty much, manufacturer shows up to 20 ft lbs. Unfortunately we were slinging a bit heavier than that and it shows! This would be a perfect target either at longer distances with a .22 cal PCP, or with a .177 PCP or pretty much any springer

Agreed. With some of the more modern PCPs that have the power adjusters, this will work just fine. Extends air as well that way!
can the gauntlet be adjusted to increase the fps like marauder?
We only had this demo unit a few days so we are not sure yet. Haven't heard from the manufacturer that this is possible, but you never know once we can pull it apart what will be possible.
Can a Picatinny bipod Connect to this rifle?
Yes, you can connect one to the sling swivel studs with the appropriate bipod.

I have definitely replaced my Ruger Blackhawk Elite .177 for this. Im m happy with that decision. Use it for getting rid of little pest.

Yes, and, since the Gauntlet is regulated, you can fill it to 2000psi if you want and still get around 30 shots per fill.

I am in no way, gun savvy enough to fix an air gun. Will this gun last without repair for years? And what would I do if something goes wrong?
Great question, this is a very straight forward gun compared to the more adjustable higher end guns. Outside of buying some cleaning pellets to remove lead build up in the barrel, this is very hassle free. Maybe an o-ring in a couple of years around the pellet probe (the part that pushes the pellet into place) that can be picked up at any hardware store. That should be it.

Yea, you should have no problem pumping to 3,000. Its just nice that you don't necessarily have to due to the regulator. It will perform the same at lower pressures as it will at higher pressures.

That's not too far away at all! I'm excited to see if it lives up to the claims in the production model. If the prototype you got to play with is any indication, this thing might kill unregulated PCPs as a market.
Really with this thing and the Coyote on the market, companies are running low on excuses to not deliver on regulated, entry cost PCP rifles.

It looks like the barrel is bending sitting in the stand. I don't like how the barrel is unsupported to the stock for most of the length. I think it needs something.
Looks like it could be made very easily, a support brace of some kind. It would be super cheap, I just don't know how someone in development di the say anything about that

2000+ dollar guns have same concept of floating barrel, as well as many accurate firearms. It is a well proven concept. But i was skeptical as well at first.

its a hpa bottled QB79 with a different stock. really nothing new and has been around for quite a while.
The main difference is the rotary mag, and the regulator at that price point is huge.

albeit for about the same price overall,so youre getting a better looking gun for the same price.
im not saying anything bad about the gun as it looks good and seems to shoot good too.
my point was just that this type of platform has been around for a while.

Your right, with the ninja bottle that would be regulated. So the main difference is the rotary mag. Speaking of the QB, there's a pcp version coming out very soon. Really love that platform
Seems as if they raided the airgun blogs and forums to come up with this one, they did not even take the trouble to solve the issue with the bolt not staying back to load a magazine with one hand on the repeater versions of the HPA QB79, it is easily done if you modify the catch point on the hammer, seems as if they did not read that post, wonder if they included the hammer debounce device, from the shot count indicated, does not seem so.
A they coming out with the .25cal in May???
don't think so, from what we are told the .25 cal will be coming in the fall.
