I would much rather be known as a jerk than the incompetent government employee that let a bomb or a weapon on a plane full of passengers. I can live with being called a jerk. I can't live with knowing people could have died because I didn't do my job. It also would not look good in his employee's file either.

These "Canine Officers" are Trained to react to a stimulus. They are also are given rewards for their actions. And I would like to point out, that a "Canine" is UNABLE to testify in court as they can not "speak" and tell the FACTS of the situation. Thusly it is a Violation of a Citizen's right to "Confront All Witness' against them". The "Powers that be" have the power to hold a Citizen, for "investigative purposes", but when that investigation bears no "fruit", they simply say "Sorry for the inconvenience." as if that makes it all OK. Furthermore, this all happens on PRIVATE PROPERTY, being that the Airport is Privately Owned.. This again Violates "Jurisdictional Borders". For Example, an Agent of the court (AKA Police Officer) that is Employed in One Jurisdiction and Sworn under that "Policy", then moves onto Private Property, and Asserts Authority in a "Task Force" which can create unfettered "authority" because of the Implication that the Government has Blanket Power. I will remind everyone, these are NOT Elected Official's, they are employee's of a Corporation, NONE of us are under contract to. The Constitution was drawn up in very particular language, and the "Corporation" of the Government has then taken that Document and trampled the "Soul" of the Founding Father's intentions to Protect the Citizens, and to prevent overreach. Our "Government", on all levels, profits off us in EVERY WAY, wither it be by Taxation, Fines, or Fees and Profit while ruining the simple existence of persons that are meant to be free of interference from "Tyranny". And as a side note here, Law Enforcers are ALLOWED, even encouraged, to lie in their profession.. why should we believe Anything they say..

Years ago I met with the owner of a savings and loan that had just been seized that day. The meeting had nothing to do with the S&L. As I was leaving, federal agents told me they had to search my briefcase. I had some sensitive personal documents I didn’t want them to peruse. I asked if they had a warrant or reasonable suspicion that I had committed a crime. They didn’t. I then left. I’m a Vietnam vet and feel strongly about our rights. I put my life on the line for our country for our rights and freedoms. I don’t see how the courts allow such search and civil asset forfeitures which seems totally contradictory to the 4th amendment. It makes me very angry to hear of these injustices.

Cash is not illegal. The government just wants to use criminals as an excuse to restrict everyone's rights. Law enforcement and crime prevention are two very different things and crime prevention is a slippery slope to losing freedom. In America if the authorities do not have a valid reason they cannot restrict your movements in any way. We all have a constitutional right to security in our person. Remember there is a fascist born every minute and you have to stay on guard to maintain freedom.

A warrant isn't necessarily required, IF the LEO has probably cause. In this case the DEA Agent never admitted he had no probably cause for reason. He was just making it as painful for the man as possible because he wouldn't consent willingly. He should have refused to consent once he was off the plane, but instead when the K-9 dog was made to respond positively, the DEA agent had his probably cause. Forget that it was based on a dog that was told to signal positive. I'll be surprised if he can convince a judge otherwise because he consented.

And you say "no, thank you" and he says, "I didn't ask you a question..."
You say, "I don't consent to any searches, seizures, or questions. Either show me a warrant or leave me alone."
DEA say: "I said I'm not asking you a question. I'm not seizing you either, you're free to go, but your bag stays with me.
We'll turn it in to lost and found when we're done with it if you choose to leave now, but that's up to you."
