Had a cop stop myself with my wife & 1yo child on our way to church, right across from it & the passenger cop got out with a shotgun & asked for my licence. Gave it to him & confused i said "can i ask why you pulled me over?"
He smiled handed my licence back & said "sure".
Thengot in the car & drove away without answering. Everyone at church asked what happened. Said " i don't know."
The looks we got!
All canines are taught a signal to make a false hit
All they would've found would've been dirty clothes.
I don’t even think that is considered a hit lol. He pointed to the bag and made a sound, and the dog followed and smelled the bag. There is no way to discern that the dog actually alerted or not. He claimed the dog sitting down was the alert, but the dog didn’t actually sit until after he basically ended the search with “You see that? Good boy”
I had this situation with the border patrol in Arizona. They told me the dog made a hit on my car which was completely insane. They tried to demonstrate to me that the dog made a hit. I was a dog trainer at the time. This guy didn't even have good control of the dog. They searched my car and didn't find a single thing. I told them I think they need to train their dogs better. Waste of an hour of my time plus having to deal with their intimidation tactics.
Being a dog owner....dogs generally just want to please their masters.....period. So they will give their master what they think they want.
Thank you for exposing corruption. Im so sick of our rights being trampled. I know this was a long investigation, but you did a great service for our country by protecting what little freedom we have left. I saw this story months ago and was delighted to see you expand it.
Im a new subscriber.
Thank you ❤
No way would I EVER give my consent for search. EVER.
YOu are going to miss that flight and have to buy another ticket to the next one on your dime?
If we give up our rights just because that is the easier route, we don't actually have any rights.
agent man, go to the border. You'll find lots of crimes going on there. 24/7.
And then you miss your daughter's wedding.... That's not a real choice.
I agree. Invoke your 4th, 5th, and then 6th Amendment. Then say nothing. If they attempt to violate your rights...treat them as a British solider
What a jerk - this DEA agent should be fired.
Absolutely Disgusting 😡😤
Tell me what isnt disgusting these days.. the problem is the law is overstepping all the time and everyone is a criminal in their eyes trust me on that.. probably everybody but their mother
@@treuky UNFORTUNATELY one agent's mother is another agent's suspect!

Retired career federal prosecutor who handled many many drug cases with DEA. This is an outrage! Only once did I have a case where a local police officer searched a checked bag without a warrant, and even then I was stunned…turns out there were drugs in the bag but the unlawful search precluded us from going forward.
Good reporting.
That is terrible that these DEA agents abusing their power instead of doing their real jobs.
To be fair most of their cause for existence is stuff like this. Stopping real large-scale dangerous drug activity is mostly related to fbi and cia, also where the cia is responsible for setting up the networks of hard drugs in the first place, like cocaine from latin america, and fentanyl from china.
These so call agents need to be fired and arrested for harassing individuals and sued! You just can’t take someone bags for no apparent reason. I would let them arrest me so I could sue them for every thing they have, them personally! This is total nonsense and ludicrous! I would sue! How much of the money are these so call agents actually keeping for themselves? 🤔
All of it! They split it amongst each other. Its stealing plain and simple. I work at the airport for 29 yrs. I've talked to a dea agent b4. That's what he told me. I was pissed
Except they are doing exactly what the the people running the Federal Government want them to do 🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷
You sure can sue. You will be up against an established authority that's funded with endless tax money and a team of lawyers with all the time in the world.
Their department keeps 10% of all money confiscated!
You would get arrested for no reason. They are still officers, complete with qualified immunity. In order to sue the federal government, a judge has to approve it and that doesn't happen often.
This is no different from an alley mugging, this is no different from a house burglary. Absolutely disgusting!
Unlike all those civil asset forfeiture is still legal and few politicians or law enforcement agencies want to turn off that spigot. Too much money to be made and they always argue about how it only affects criminals carrying around large amounts of drug money.
wrong, they have government backing... your examples don't

DEA is a federal agency not a cop
@@cavgrey8 True. But in this context it it's not about the definition - it's about the application.
@@cavgrey8Let me help you out. They are LEO’s for the federal government.
@@cavgrey8 "Cops" are law enforcement agents, when they detain you, send you to jail and court, they are acting as the plaintiff on behalf of the government, administered through their department. DEA are administered directly from the federal level. Both swear to uphold the constitution which they frequently violate.
These cops seem to think that protecting your rights is "disrespectful"... Maybe they should consider how disrespectful it is to confront someone, in public, with no probable cause, and "detain" them, without legally detaining them...
And ask them to rifle through their underwear, man, check their toothbrush... pour out their belongings onto the airport floor, and when they find nothing hand them back the empty bag and say "you're free to go". And wake up the next morning and Put back on the skinny jeans and windbreaker and go to work and do it all over again, like a real consummate professional.. Imagine?
To all those who are wondering, "why did this guy cause all this trouble, why didn't he just comply?" The answer is that all government agents have sworn an oath to defend the same Constitution that allows that man to enjoy his freedom from this EXACT kind of outrageous Government behavior. In a perfect world, government employees would never make an illegal or unconstitutional request of a citizen. Sadly the world is full of dumbshits like this DEA team who think they are above the laws and the Constitution upon which the laws are founded.
I laughed when dea said “you disrespected me.” All I had seen was him (dea) disresopoecting his victim and the constitution.
That’s not the reason. The reason is to stop government abuse, and that’s why it’s the law.
They needed money like many other police stations, so taking your money it is.
Do what the Government tells you to do. Just comply. Now sew that Star of David on your jacket, Abe!
@@tommyt8998 Comply like all those Germans did? What if they want a cavity search? You down to get to third base with your compliance? I mean, just how far does it go?
The issue with a lot of local police officers assigned to a federal task force is that some of them believe they are above the law. As a former very large agency officer who worked with a Federal Task Force I’ve seen several officers let their assignments go to their heads.
They are above the law. That's why none of them were punished for what they did on this tape
I worked for a air carrier based at CVG that transports US Military and dependants across the globe. When that same guy told me he was going to search my bag and asked me for consent, I told him I did not have the authority to consent. That took him off his stride. I said that I do not consent because I cannot consent. Search it at your peril. The dog 'sat' on it. No drugs or money was found. I had already reported the US Government contract flight schedule as 'compromised' since they took it out of my line of sight! His actions cost the US Federal Government 94 million and netted them not a penny!
Holy cow!
Can you explain more? I don’t understand.

HTF does your process have such a vulnerability in it? If *any* simple step could fail and cost 94 million, that's a design flaw.
@@GamesFromSpace - imagine opening a Classified document that included a list of targets, their locations, and the scheduled drone strikes, and all of that had to be scrapped because that ATF agent had compromised the information
The airline passenger needs to sue the DEA and the agent personally for breaking the law, which is false imprisonment and robbery. That agent needs to lose his badge and definitely should be in prison. The agent was disrespectful to the passenger.
Yeah, but good luck with that. Most of us do not have the time and money to be able to take it to court and do you realize how difficult it is to sue the government? The justices system is all in cahoots with each other and the “thin blue line” - prosecutors, District Attorneys, judges, public defenders, and law enforcement.
I'm personally pleasantly surprised that a mass media outlet is reporting on this! Actually, I thought the reporters did an outstanding job.
Many various emotions goes through my mind when I hear blatant abuse like this! These types of law enforcement personnel need to be re-schooled/restrained, or let go!
If this fella made it through TSA security then he must be free to go, unless there is legitimate probable cause!

That officer is giving signs of a psychopath
I spent most of my adult life as an LEO. Some reserve and even a limited federal commission. These cops are disgusting. I suffered nearly fatal trauma, went to the hospital on duty for treatment, and my family went through hell when bad things happened and they could not make sure I was OK. Pre cell phone. I knew sometimes I had to let bad guys go. I worked harder and got smarter. I never considered abusing my fellow American’s rights instead of diligent police work.
Thank you. This is what reporters and the idea of a free press is about.

The problem is not just the abusive DEA using illegal searches. The TSA is also to blame, because they are the ones who point out possible juicy targets for the illegal searches to steal any cash from passengers.
This makes my blood boil.I was moving 1,000 miles away. I didn't want to drive with my valuables, so first, I flew down with my ton of jewelry, lots of cash from my moving sale, and my gold coins. My plan was to put it all in a local bank safety deposit box, fly back, then drive my car to my new home. I knew I'd be questioned at TSA. I told them I was moving, and they believed me. Now I see that all my cash could have been confiscated without cause. Grrrr

Carrying any amount of cash on a domestic flight is not illegal

Leos do not care.
LMAO
It's also not illegal to have cash in your vehicle but cops stop people all day long and steal their money... legally
Exactly. You just need to declare over a certain amount at customs when you land.
Not illegal but you do have to declare any amount over $9,999.00
Many people with far less then what is required to be declared have had their money stolen. Declaring makes no difference anyway, it just alerts the government so they can steal it easier.
remove all immunity from law enforcement and judges!
TSA has gone through my suitcase multiple times after I've already been through security. One time breaking a candle jar. They always leave their little calling card inside stating it was a high security situation, but I never see it until I get home and unpack. Isn't that the same thing as the DEA doing this?
Pretty sure checking your bag gives them consent to search it somewhere in the fine print.

Excellent report, Brendan. I still don't understand though how the TSA, which you said are Administrative Gov't employees, can legally search your bags. How do they get around the 4th Amendment? Is it that when you choose to fly, you agree that it is a privilege, and that you consent to be searched as a condition for flying? Still seems like a violation of the 4th Amendment anyway. Please explain.
