Brian and Phil would be triple session guys to pull this off in the studio in the day.... Brian timing exact.... Phil, up down picking, singing (With emotion of course) Phil had his heart into every single song.... "Demons" are in this lyric..... This is self reflection of course, he fought them for years but succumbed eventually as we all know. Sad for us all. Too soon, Phil, Gary.... Still I listen to this greatest band from the Emerald land..... TL Forever !! 🎸🎼

Close to crying about my beloved dog LOLA. What did you see? He is one of the most special in rock in my opinion. It is not only heartbreaking, but it gets down to the soul itself. I think the band really loved/ loves him. I know I love him so much. It is not led Zeppelin or black Sabbath. It's very different rock. It is one in a million kind of stuff. Why did he die? Is over doing it just that bad? Why was he so upset and depressed that he went that far? My number is up soon I think. He was such a talent. Please tell me what you saw in more detail. He was not right. He felt in a trap. Shall he never ever wrote this song he would still alive. Even more, he could have written it, but his mistake was to sing it, not once but over and over again. If your thoughts can harm you, your spoken words can destroy you. He was probably not ignorant of what he was doing. For once the said can apply literally : he had it coming. Then again, so many great artists seem to spark strong and die fast.

    • @johnlittle4833

@@RingOfRae This gibberish makes no sense at all, unlike the crystal clear post you allegedly replied to. Phil Lynott was a flawed genius. The drink & drugs killed him at the age of only 34. The song "The sun goes down" was a premonition of his own death which he knew was coming. Now find something better to do with your time other than muddying waters that are crystal clear to the intelligent.

Thin Lizzy always seemed to be ahead of the curve. The sad thing is that time was called on the band just when things were lining up. This lineup could have been massive as the eighties rolled on. They were great live, had a fantastic back catalogue and had just produced another fine album. For the sake of a pause and maybe a detoxification things could have turned out so much better. But what happened is what it is and that’s that. Such a shame.

This is one of my favorite Thin Lizzy songs! or Phil Lynott's songs! It has very interesting lyrics, a very interesting music! and even a very interesting meaning! besides that it's also very interesting to see that Phil even decided to perform this great song live! since even though it's a very good song yet it is more a "reflexion song" than a "concert song"! so maybe that was also the main reason on why this great song was performed at a little bit faster pace than in the normal album version! which by the way it's also his last song of his last album! before he died or passed away from a drug abuse or excess back in 1986! therefore maybe performing this great song live was also one of Phil's ways to tell us all goodbye! before he passed away! besides that I also believe that in this great song maybe he was also trying to be relating the sun to our normal lives! because when we analyse this great song with that kind of meaning then we could see and understand better why the final phrase of this great song very apropiatelly closes that great album and even Phil Lynott's short life by simply saying: "When all is said and done the sun goes down"! so that it should also be a kind of reminder too for all of us about our own deaths! too! therefore by analysing this great song in a better way could even realize in a better way too that in some day that very same sun which is life in this case is also going to go down for all of us! too!
