What makes a brand iconic, scientifically

- Branding is something I've recently gotten more obsessed with - why people (including me!!!) decide to spend outrageous amounts more on brands that are virtually creating the same item as any of their competitors? How can brands like Nike, Apple, Tylenol do that? In this video, we breakdown branding and run some mini-experiments to put our theories to the test.

Did Colt dirty with the unrecognised cow lol
Atleast you recognized my cow
@@ColtKirwan LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL COLT UR VIDEOS AWESOME
Did Cole wrong why are you still preteneding
as a marketing student your explanation was better than that of the professors at certain marketing universities, nice content
As a behavioral science researcher that uses consumer psychology to grow businesses, this is a well-made, informative, and FUN video to watch. Great job, Tejas!
This is a bit out of topic, but do you have book recommend for consumer psychology?
@@rezaaldiansyahm hey there! I am happy to give you my humble recommendations. There are so many great books on consumer psychology out there in my opinion. But to have a better idea of what to recommend you, it would be helpful to know why are you interested in consumer psychology? What do you want to learn about it in particular and why? That would give me a better idea on what to recommend.
Having said that, a good “entry” level book can be Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein
@@movementcreatorTV24 Thank you so much for the reply! I wanted to learn more about consumer psychology after reading Competing Against Luck, where the author explained a theory that a product shouldn't be simply answering the basic needs, but needs to consider the social and emotional needs. I believe reading more information regarding consumer psychology helps me understand this better so I can serve customers better.
I will try Nudge, it looks good in giving me a general idea of decision making. Thank you!
@@rezaaldiansyahm happy to help. I can send you more recommendations later. Let me know what you think about this one. 🥋🙏🏽
Tejas just does not miss man, always love how reflective your videos are, helping viewers like me become more aware of the way the world around us works!
Thank you bro! Growing with everyone :)
MAN when you said both were the same orange juice! it hit so hard.
Hahahhaa I like to manipulate
Yoo Mubi! Didn't expect to see you here. Great stuff man!
This channel is way too underrated
Just came across ur channel today(subscribed 5 mins into the video😁) and I'm absolutely in love with ur content. you deserve way more recognitionnnn keep grinding man ❤
This is such high quality content.
Wow, I'm half way and just wanted to say: I love the story you tell and the way you make these videos with your friends. It feels pleasend to watch and this is actually one of the few videos I didn't play at 2x speed. Keep it going!
TH-cam algo is mad for not promoting this content frfr. Another banger from tejas. Btw gabe itch 🤣🤣
CHILLLL. just wait, takes a minute for me!
Dude, this is an amazing video! Super entertaining and interesting all the way through, well engineered simplified examples, nice music with perfect volume, interesting creative shots, pretty valuable insights, damn, I don‘t know what to say. Great job, keep going!
Your videos are absolutely incredible! Goddamn dude I’ve now binge watched 3 of your videos! Your channel is going to blow up at some point. Keep going man.
Please please please make more branding/marketing videos!!!!!!! This was amazing.
the score on this video was awesome, good stuff!
U make good stuff dude.kepp doin it fella
Thanks!
A new subscriber here from Spain! Great content, fun video to watch and very accurate information! Keep it up buddy!
i like your videos a lot, HOWEVER i think this one is a miss :( it feels like it rambles, and misses the point of what the viewer expects from the title, thumbnail, and first minute or two of the video. it would have been a lot better if it was around 8-10 minutes and focused on Apple and these other top brands
the experiments don't really make sense in terms of the videos exposition, and the experiemtns are kinda predictable, like I knew what the result of them was gonna be before they were performed. and a lot of the dialogue is kinda drawn out; not that its not funny/interesting, it just feels unnecessary and too much fluff
there's other little things like when you were explaining what was going to happen in the video, like as a viewer I don't want to hear that, I want to see it happen so I can figure out what the videos going to be
i'm saying all this because i love you and your content, and of course this is all my opinion and maybe i'm just not the type of person to enjoy this video?
Love this critique! Thanks for the respectful opinion. Definitely trying to find a good balance between creating a scripted video essay and also an unscripted "character-driven" story.
In addition, I'm trying to find the line in explaining concepts fully yet also concisely.
You hit on two things I'm actively trying to work on 👍
One of the best videos I have seen on branding ever. Actually one of the best videos I have seen so far this year. Great work 👍 keep it up. I am now subscribed.
Why everyone in this video has 80s mullets💀?
The moment the person knew he was going to be tested about Brands, you had introduced Hawthorne Effect which killed the experiment!
I understand you are not a researcher, but because you are trying to go about this "scientifically", this should be made clear. Good video nonetheless:D
Hey Tejas what is the board behind you some days crossed or like that
after a really long time, youtube feels so back. That's an amazing video. From the set of experiments to filming to delivery, good work.
I love that channel man. Keep it up. Every Video hits hard
Glad you enjoy it!
A great example of the Mere Exposure Effect is listening to Music. You tend to like a song better the more you listen to it
Really good analogy to understand complex things into simple. Relly like a video. I am starting e commerce brand this will help me to understand branding and how to market thanks!
Found your Olympics video and loving the channel so far, keep it up!!
videos just keep getting better and better Tejas! the brand is strong
@Tejas Hullur, interesting video on branding!
Thank you!
Forever learning. I’m not “loyal” to many channels, but you sir. Consistently are worth the watch every single time.
For your stat calculations I hope this helps… I as a viewer expect “To learn something that helps me to leverage my position in the creator economy better, primarily from a theory standpoint with a few practical to-do’s mixed in.”
love this channel and your fresh prespective , its very caesy neistat-esque and I love it .
Oh shit Tejas! This video is so timely - I've been ravenously studying brand recently - thinking a lot about how to make Stan on the level of the Nike's and Apple's and Red Bull's of the world. Excited to dive in!!!!
this was SO GOOD dude.
Congrats for this man! I can only imagine how much effort you put into this
I think something you may want to consider is pushing people to communities like discord surrounding your brand because I was gonna go into your description to see how well put together it was and I was confused to see no links
bro this is a great vid the cow thing at the start is exactly my marketing plan!
Thanks man for the work you put in those kind of videos, really enjoy your vids. Keep killing it :)
Really means a lot!
bro created a brand marketing masterclass and droped it in silence
"nah I need US currency, I see a $100 right there" LMAOOOOOOO
This guy is too underrated
I expect deep dives behind the why?? of things. Goofy yet creative demonstrations followed by dope video angles.
I associate your videos with ambition and ingenuity. You manage to find worthwhile topics and present them in an understandable manner. In terms of branding the thing that comes to mind is the handwritten notes. Maybe try something with that
As always your videos are amazing but I don't even recognize this is your video by thumbnail then I saw your channel . I mean you should put your face or maybe a unique logo branding in corner on your each thumbnail ❤
Heyy Tejas, really loved your content like the way you film it, edit it , its just my vibe. Infact, i binged watch all of them. Keep doing what you do, and waiting for the next one😋
Means the world :,)
@TejasHullur much love brother 💗
Yo Tejas that was better than most marketing classes! Well done.
What I'm left with now is how do you effectively build an underdog brand ...
Great work all love from Uganda
Man! Love that mic. Which one is it?
TEJAS! Your videos are so fun to watch and they are literally the only videos I can watch till the end without even having a second thought
Holy shit. This content is legit.
I’ve learned so much. Ty g
Tejas's videos are just better.
I like the cows smile
Great video! Sticking around.
Amazing as always, but now I really want that Apple monitor...
Wonderful video!!!! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🔥
Sick thumbnail ✅ sick video ✅
Thanks bro!
loving this algorithm recently
Branding started way before the stamping of the cow. It started in ancient times with clay bottles and olive oil
In saying that I like your cave 😁in terms of your friend preferri dominos even though the other pizza is better ...it's due to lack of self awareness...example - Warren buffet would choose the cheaper pizza because it was better. Far higher ROI and less spend. Whereas your friend he would prefer to not change dominos because if he was to choose that ...then he wouldn't know who he was. He'd feel lost and that association of created memories with dominos would be at a risk. That brand is a certain meaning and association to him that he'd even forgo the taste just for satisfy the ego. Hence the lack of self awareness.
This is like a better quality Vox
Hope you read all of your comments, got a project idea for you...
Boi The Lifespan Of any Branded (apple/samyang) Electronic Device is better Than Others
I Liked this video, but believe the storytelling could''ve been more clear and with a structure, so the viewers know what will be the conclusion, and sometimes you can conclude the whole point of the video by summerizing your points in the video.
the production quality is insane. insane!!
really good video
Bro is livin'in the kids bedroom
I always root for an underdog thats why I watch Tejas Hullur videos
super nice video my man, but that decoration at ur studio.............
Your way of storytelling had a bit of Casey neistat style. Is it intentional?
As an aspiring branding & visual identity designer I love it 😍
You should have picked a dumber guy, he already knew all about branding
well by buying branded stuff u can usually expect a quality and vibe....
He grew up in America, still challenges insane brand pulls like a true desi. Nice!
Is that the plank from SpongeBob on your table 🥹
I love how branding is being demonstrated and dramatized here.
Bro's vid inspired from alex hormozi XD
you gotta bring back Veljko, he was hilarious
also, to answer your question at the end, myself being someone who tunes in to every video... when going in to a new tejas video I have begun to expect high effort research into topics I would describe as being interesting enough for me to want to research them but never being bothered to do the research myself, so im stoked to have tejas serve them to me me in a nice entertaining MP4
a bonus is i do also always hope for some space for a laugh so it doesnt feel like a lecture
This reminds me of the concept Primal Branding
What's the name of the jazz throughout the video
this is the one that will go mega viral
marketting is the very important in everything
Love your videos and thanks for making them. It's a pleasure to watch. I love how it's a playful and not a very serious setting, perfect to relate to and also enjoy. Just sharing a feedback, i thought the the topic of the video was very interesting but the value or insights from it did not come off strongly. it was more of a vlog and entertaining, but i'm not able to summarize strong insight that would be valuable to me. i think there's potential to make it better hence sharing. kuddos and best wishes
Now this is a TH-cam video. Brilliant!!
Aha this guy just found a way to write of his monitor
Let Tejas Cook! 🗣💯

Very interesting orange juice experiment. Love the way you think about the world, Tejas.
