    "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen"
    "All Over Town"
    "I Like To Rock"
All of the above are more great rockin' tunes from 'April Wine'.
Their biggest US hit was a power ballad called
"Just Between You And Me". Not my personal favorite, but hey, to each their own.
    Enjoy your day...🎸🎶🙂

The only ones I heard on the radio were ‘Sign of the Gypsy Queen’ and ‘I Like to Rock’ that also had a video that played on MTV.
Would always find a friend that had an album so you could get a cassette recording if you were cool…

That's actually a song by: Lorence Hud
...but, yes: April Wine's version is seminal (and the best-known version - arguably, outside of Canada.🤷).
Nature Of The Beast is (pretty easily) their best album, overall
      [and most well-known, as well.]

April Wine, yet another Canadian band... haven't thought of them in awhile... good music. Sign Of The Gypsy Queen and Just Between You And Me are their two biggest international hits, but they had lots of success until their founder and vocalist Myles Goodwin passed away in 2023

Saw them back in the 70's at their peak! And they did not disappoint! One of the many amazing things about this band is that they had 3 lead guitarist. So, lead wise, they would go back and forth on leads, licks, tricks, etc. They would do it so quickly that one would think they were at a tennis match! All the back and forth in all their songs! It's quite astounding to witness that!

Also anther cool story is how they helped out Keith Richard and the Rolling Stones when Keith got into some trouble with the local law enforcement over some drugs. Richards was order to do some community service so April Wine did a show that was featuring a up and coming band. People were confused when April Wine opened the show but when the Rolling Stones came out after well lets just say Keith's debt was paid in full. Later the Stones allowed April Wine to use a riff from Can't Get No Satisfaction on their song I like to Rock. Maybe you guys should check that one out. Please see link below.

One of my favorite bands. They came through our small town more times than I can count! Always a great show. They do not get the respect they deserve, IMHO.
    Check out ...
Hard Rocker > 'Oowatanite' (1975) Used to be my Alarm Clock!
Slow Love Song > 'Tonite Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love' (1975)
Fun Rock > 'The Whole World's Goin' Crazy' (1976)
Another great Canadian band I've never seen anyone do is 'Lighthouse'. Kind of our version of 'Chicago' or 'Blood Sweet & Tears'. Choose from...
'Lighthouse - One Fine Morning' (1971)
    'Lighthouse - Pretty Lady' (1973)
'Lighthouse - Hats off (To The Stranger)' (1971)
    'Lighthouse - Sunny Days' (1972)
    All great tunes.

What an introduction to April Wine for you. That is their most rockin' and best song IMO. That said, they have a lot of great tunes. Check out their greatest hits album and pick any one and you can't go wrong. Oowatanite was a huge radio hit for them. I Like To Rock is another hot one that has cool dueling Stones/Beatles guitar riffs to lead out of that song. By the way, singer Myles Goodwin had a great voice. R.I.P.

April Wine is criminally underrated. I saw them 2 yrs ago in Maple Ridge, BC. Great party atmosphere. Great time.

It's called dueling guitars. Saw April Wine as an opener, they bring it. Lead guitar twinning and dueling is a lost art, has such a powerful sound. Thin Lizzy used it a lot as well.

This is literally one of the greatest rock songs of all time. I'm not being hyperbolic, either. If you listen to it four or five times and start comparing it to every other guitar-based pop song you ever heard of... Well, it's not enough to call it fun or awesome or whatever. It's actually LEGENDARY.

Saw them in situ when I was a teen -- right here in Nova Scotia. Saw them a few years ago at a venue just down the street from my house. Myles died recently, but his son apparently is taking over. They were world-class but seemed like they were overlooked for some reason. They're getting a lot of play these days.

    "Weeping Widow" for more rock
"Say Hello" for a cool yet mellow vibe.
April Wine has tons of great songs.

I saw April Wine open for Rush on the Hemispheres tour, everyone goes on , about their guitars, and they were great, but no one says anything about their drummer, don't know his name, but he is absolutely ambidextrous, he's the only drummer I have ever seen that has two high hat cymbals, one on either side of his snare drum, and he used them , I'm a drummer and I have never seen that before, he was truly worthy of opening for Rush and Neal Pearts amazing abilities

I've lost count how many times I'd seen April Wine's live arena rock shows on Vancouver Island - 80's Americans loss was our gain here in the Great White North.

A Montreal high school favorite in 1970 where they played the local high schools, before they had commercial success. Somewhat overshadowed by a couple of Canadian bands of the time, like Triumph, and especially Bachman Turner Overdrive, with Randy Bachman, he, being a previous founding member of The Guess Who. Canada is a small country, eh.
