reath could definitely play in the nba. always impresses in summer league and in every overseas league hes played in. just needs a lucky break. sometimes its just being at the right place at the right time to make an nba roster
I also thought he was good in the olympics and the lead up games, plus would be great backup for Landale and in fiba games 2 bigs is a huge plus.

Yes but it’s still just his third year now. I see this as a breakthrough season for Giddey. As an OKC fan I can tell you I have always been impressed by his play. The thing is, he’s still one of the youngest players on the Thunder. He has room to grow, and I think he’s going to show a lot of people what he can do in the NBA soon. The amount he improved on from year 1 to year 2 didn’t get talked about enough. Year 3 he’s going to be in more highly touted position, especially if he puts up big numbers for Australia right now.

That's what I'm loving about this tournament. Gives Giddey time to grow away from Shai as the No.1 option and without the easy assists with OKC's list of freak athletes. Now we see what Giddey can do and what he can learn before going back to the next NBA season. Same with a few of the other teams that have concentrated on youth, interesting to watch the likes of Reaves when he doesn't have to play team ball to Lebron and AD
@@thomascharlton1653 I think him and JDUB will be 2A and 2B this year. I think Sophomore JDUB is gonna be a problem on both ends. Josh Giddey will likely average 10 assists this season and 15-18 PPG. Gonna be a great year for OKC barring any injuries.

Giddy is Australia’s Larry Bird.. very similar style , not that athletic.. at 6’8 he barely gets up to dunk.. but great passing, shooting and basketball IQ, finds people and great court vision/awareness

The physicality mixed with skilled feet on Giddey makes me feel like I’m on cloud 9 as an OKC fan. He can take on anyone when he plays this way because his passing is so ridiculously good.

Josh Giddey is one of my favorite players to watch outside the Lakers. His feel for the game is on a different level and he’s got a deep bag that can elevate up with an even better off the dribble three 🎉

Out of the countries outside the USA; Australia, Spain, Canada, and France have the most potential to really grow in basketball for my opinion. Germany can also be there too but I feel these countries can grow more.
But with Australia, what I notice is the abundance of defensive personnel right now. Out of the teams that can probably give team US scorers fits, Australia or Canada might have best personnel though I feel like with Exum, Thybulle, and Green they are a bit more versatile than Canada thought Canada have better defensive wings in Dort and Brooks. I do think Australia have more options like Daniels or Delladova if he will make the roster but I feel the team has chemistry and continuity to beat anyone.
The inky issue is the offensive options seem lacking though I know Mills is a different beast in Fiba. I also trust guys like Green, Exum, Ingles, and Giddey to step it up a notch as creators in the WC.
Delladova has already been cut from the roster a little while back. They are going to have to drop one of the NBA guys... probably Cooks unless there is an injury.
U forgot about indonesia, we are the new asia king. You are lucky because we cant qualify but if we did, we could make an impact

This Australian team is going to be damn good 4 or 5 years from now. Wouldn't surprise me if they take a guy like Rocco Zikarsky to the Olympics next year... even though he is still only 16. 7ft 3... will still probably grow and he is going to be the future of the Australian team. Absolute gun.
Then a kid like Mojave King as well who was drafted this year... Roman Siulepa who is likely to get drafted to the NBA. Going to be a pretty good next 10-15 years in Australian basketball.

I'm french and after seeing some preparation games, I can say that it will be hard to play the final for us. USA is impressive, Canada (if they continue to improve collectively) and the Boomers are very very strong. The last place in the semi-finals will be disputed between France, Germany, Spain and perhaps Italy, for me.
This team is always awesome until the quarter finals or meaningful games start

Venezuela team is the oldest average age participating in this world championship. In 2015 they (same players) won the America cup defeating Canada in semifinals and Argentina in the final. But 8 years has passed since then. Venezuela needs renewal.

Es duro para selección. Debemos tener una identidad y estilo de juego. Espero que los responsables que se creen dueños del baloncesto en mi país que viajan por los países gracias a la FIBA envíen a los entrenadores a capacitarse y una escuela de baloncesto. Y dejar de ensañar a los niños que con el Basket de los años 70.
Da dolor verlos y verlos perder y de esta manera, no compiten, no hay defensa, rotan lentamente, permiten demasiados contragolpes.
Este es el resultado de las gran idea que tuvo FIBA con sus ventanas clasificatorias.
Pues fíjate que no, este es el RESULTADO de que la Federación Venezolana de Baloncesto no trabajo en poner a funcionar ligas de desarrollo y no darle la oportunidad a otros jugadores de participar en la selección con anterioridad. 8 años han pasado del logro del campeonato de la Americup 2015 y mantienen al mismo equipo.
