No Ben Simmons, Jonah Bolden and Thon Maker.. Besides Bogut, Mills, Delly, Baynes and Ingles playing in the NBA, the rest of the players either play in Europe or Australia's NBL. Bogut is almost 35, not to mention a few bench players at around 35. It was a fantastic effort by Australia, and no matter which way you spin it, the gap between the USA and the rest of the world is closing, which is great. Makes it more interesting. Well done Aussies!

People talk about about "set plays" but it's really the reading and reacting that is making all of it work. Nothing is really "set" as in set in stone. They've got their concepts and they take what the defense gives them. It's a motion offense with interchangeable concepts regarding movement, screening and reads to make.

It definitely wasn't coaching. Our "Coach" (Lemanis) really sucks. Australia just played better, and Patty Mills caught fire at just the right time. I sincerely hope we fire Lemanis before the Olympics next year. Brett Brown coming back to coach Australia would be ideal, as he knows how to coach NBA players, knows Pop's system to counter it..... and most importantly..... he knows how to use Ben Simmons (and Jonah Bolden) better than anyone.
All Australian players grow up learning a much more fundamental and team-oriented style of play. Joe Ingles is the perfect example of an Australian player that isn't the fastest or most athletic guy... but because of his fundamentally sound basics that were instilled from a young age.... he gets the absolute most out his physical gifts by being an intelligent, heady, team-oriented, and crafty player.

That makes no sense when the top tier talent of the nba can get in there and each score 30 they’re more focus on winning a championship they also don’t care about fiba they care more about the olympics where most of the top tier talent usually stays to play

This is one of the reasons why the Jazz will be a fun thing to watch in the coming NBA season, Ingles teaming up with the intelligence of Bogdanovic will destroy other teams.

All this talk about the weak USA team. They are all stars in the top league in the world. You don’t see Australians talking about how they are not playing their A team: Simmons, Exum, Bolden, Maker and Broekhoff.

This is still probably the weakest team we've ever sent out. These guys probably won't even be RESERVES for the Olympic team

The last time the US was this pathetic Duncan was on the squad, now Popp is the coach. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe these Spurs legends are overrated AF.

There is less spacing to work with in FIBA and it makes a world of difference
It puts a cap on how much talent and athleticsim u can utilise. U don't get the same leeway to bail out bad execution with iso plays u do in the NBA either
The Boomers are a settled team with seasoned international and they aren't a bunch of scrubs either Patty Mills has been killing it for the Boomers for a long time

Uh Boooo... Sooo you would risk your NBA career for exhibition games? For what? Most of them already have a gold medal why risk it again for a 2nd time... Remember America invented basketball the rest of the world should be grateful we showed them how to play or let them in Our league...

I despise how Jalen Brown plays defense. Avery Bradley plays defense the same way. They have both earned reputations of being good defenders. They lock into their man but are often unaware of everything else going on. Being a great individual defender in a team game is only important a fraction of the time. 2 or 3 points is still 2 or 3 points if the person you aren't guarding scores. At least be aware of what is happening instead of having your eyes buried in your man's chest.
