If it was the cam/rocker arms I'm surprised it didn't make a glass jar ticking noise. My drz is doing that, after adjusting the valves and cam tensioner, still happening, so I opened it up, cam was worn, rocker arm is worn/bent. Fun stuff.
It was ticking pretty good but when looking into it everyone said that's normal for them. 🤷♂️ However when I checked the clearance for the valves before tearing it apart the were to spec. Which tells me someone adjusted them as they were wearing down. 🤦♂️
U mentioned it was running but wouldn't Rev out. You mean running and wouldn't Rev at all? Like try to die if you touch the throttle at all? Also, did u check compression before that? Just curious. I have a drz 125 and run, starts fine, got it for 300bucks, super clean bike, but compression is 90, wet check with a spoon of oil and bumps it up to 100, which points to rings hopefully. So doing the top end, rings gaskets Piston etc. Readjusted valves no change. Gotta pop the head and check the cam, but feel Like it's rings. Guess I'll find out end of this week. I'm the same way, cr 125 cr250, sold, bought some vintage bikes to repair and puts, andbstumbled into a 06dr for cheap knowing it had some work.
Did you check on the condition of the oil pump? A new filter (oil) would be a good idea if you are going to change oil. Oh and btw that was a wave washer not a crush washer. Ain't sayin' just sayin'.
I'm looking for something to aid me DC hub help me troubleshoot my 2011 f150 Stereo. There's no power to the radio 😕. There was a loud zunk electrical sound one morning, and it was done. At the same time the Bluetooth quit working and the time is flashing endlessly. I reset the battery 🔋 💀 😅, then I checked allll off the fuses. Unfortunately, it is over 103* here every day, otherwise, I would Uninstall it. CD 💿 is also stuck in the Stereo. It seems like there is a known issue with this device from what I have seen on TH-cam. Made in China 🇨🇳 🤪 . Not surprised
I can't remember what part it is, bit there's a module that tends to go bad on these trucks and they have to be replaced. They're located behind the radio inside the dashboard. I haven't had to change mine out yet, but mine tends to have issues aswell.

Basically the cam and rocker arm was not lubricated.. you might check your oil filter and insure the oil reach up the cam
What did you soak it with ? And how much did this cost you to do ?
When you took the head off it fell inside if you watch the video you can see it
