VW Atuomatic Side Mirror Lowering in Reverse Setup, and auto mirror folding when locking

In this video I go step through step on setting up automatit mirrors in reverse, and power mirror folding when locking. Step 1) put car on accessory on, not fully started 2) engage emergency power brake 2) put in reverse 3) put mirror switch on R, not 0 or L 4) adjust passenger mirror to look at rear wheel area 5) put in neutral 6) start vehicle. Just for clarification. If you have a RHD then you need to select L on the window switch not R and it will only dip the passenger mirror only, not both.

Will the side-view mirrors lower when in reverse on a 2021 Tiguan SE? Or, is this option only available on SEL models?

Good video, however, I have 2019 SEL Touareg, and I’m trying to setup the left mirror (in the UK) to lower when in reverse. The first step according to your video is to put the car in reverse without starting the engine. My car won’t let me do that and tells me I need to start the engine before engaging a gear. Do you have any advice for how I can complete this process?

The ignition has to be on,just push the start button once without applying the brakes don't start the car

The clock can be enable in menu setting

This doesn't work on the new 2024 Tiguan because you have to turn the engine on to go into a gear.
I have enabled it in the software setting, but for some reason it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas?

I’ve seen the option but have been disappointed it does nothing. Hopefully with this tutorial I’ll get the mirror to tilt! They don’t make it straight forward though that’s for sure.
