That's awesome that you did a proceed dinner for someone who needs it!! I hope watching this video gets you some more $ too! That was very satisfying to watch. BTW, if you want to get rid of the muddy taste to the mud cats, fillet them up, and soak the fillets in a bowl of milk in the fridge for a few hours, or overnight - the taste is so much cleaner after doing that! I don't know how it works, but it works!
We aren't making money on these videos yet, but we thank you for the support. It will get us there to where we can help more people out in the future!!!
Once did a three generation fishing trip back in the coastal ways of Louisiana, it was a planned all day thing, stop at countrystore for sandwiches and pop, bait ,check gas and tires, don't want to get stranded out in the boonies.we been fishing a ll day caught crabs a few small fish and dang sun headaches, finally wrapping up to go we land a six foot alligator gar ,so huge had to shoot it to get it out the water, and the thing still went for a long ride before getting hauled in.
That sounds so fun, and thise type of memories are second to none. Yall had an awesome experience down here yea, shy the sun headaches, if yall are ever down in the Southwest region of Louisiana email me ahead of time and we can possibly plan a trip for yall again!!! God bless you and your family!!!
Yes it was. I'm starting to get the hang of it now. I'm used to having the hand or foot steered type, and that remote is like a new video game for this old man🤣 God bless you and your family!!!
Nice catch, we from North Carolina , love the traping videos hope you have more in the future good luck when you out there be safe you and the family...
Thank you much for the kind words, and big shout out to North Carolina. I work construction so safety is on top of my mind at all times, and we will definitely keep them coming long as we are able to!!!
Yes sir, I've only been out of the south for short periods a couple of times long ago chasing construction money!!! God bless you and your family, and thank you for the support!!!
Yes yes we are just north of Lake Charles, La. If you're ever around this way and want to plan a fishing trip just let me know my email is wildbillsfishingreels at Gmail.
Looks like a good time to me. I have ben thinking about getting a couple of them traps and trying them out around here in west cent LA. Great video see you on the next one.
Thank you for the kind remarks!!! We got them out of Jonesville, LA. If that's close to you, email me wildbillsfishingreels at Gmail and I can give you the companies information
@@WildBillsFishingReels I get their catalog every year since I ordered some alligator hooks from them a couple years ago, and my buddy makes hoops nets and he gets all his supplies from them. If you ever want to get some hoop nets he can hook you up and I think he is cheaper than nets and more with the same quality, he hand makes them.
First off you can clean your traps off by shaking them in the water and get the trash off them it will make it a hole lot better when you get the fish out good luck
Good tip and I plan it from here on out. The real bad ones like the fourth trap I pulled will get dumped in an older ice chest that's coming with us next time instead of my casting deck. It took alot of effort to get my boat clean after that trip. Learning lessons as we go yea!! Also, thank you for the support!!!
Pretty nice haul brother. This may be a strange question but would you mind telling me the brand of shoes you're wearing? I'd like to buy myself a pair.
I have put a few in there in the past fishing hook and line, but I prefer to have variety in my pond. Putting that many in would get it overran with catfish only!!
It's a shame you have to hide your traps. Why can't people understand and abide by the fact that it doesn't belong to you, then you DON'T touch it. There are lots of people with no morals in this world.
If you were close, I'd let you have them. I hate to kill them for just the rib meat, and the fillets have little bones throughout. Sorry to let you down, but I ain't a big fan of them.
@WildBillsFishingReels freeze em. Box em up and send to me in Navarre Fl.🤣🤣. I grew up in Boyle Ms just west of the Ms. River. My old man used to run trot lines and Hoop Nets. We love them Buffalo ribs just as much as the Flatheads.
@WildBillsFishingReels To be honest man I really don't know. I live off of 87 Highway 8 miles below the Yellow River. Caught plenty of catfish on it, goggle eye, regular brim, a crappie here and there, bass, gar. And they have a drum in that river but I forget what it's called. It's got red color on its fins and face. Never heard of buffalo in the river though. I have heard Escambia river has some. Haven't gotten around to fishing it yet. But Florida doesn't allow hoop nets which sucks. Can have one 20 hook trot line I believe. Wanna go set 2 10 hook lines out in the escambia river to see what we come up with. I know occasionally you can get a buffalo on a rod but definitely much easier with a net or trap like you're using.
@NastyNate98 That's awesome you catch all those species there though. Lots of good eating fish you named. If you are going for Buffalo keep in mind that they are similar to carp in that you most likely won't catch them with traditional fishing baits. The bait blocks I used are cheese and soy bean based. They are going to be attracted with the same styles as carp fishing. I hope this helps you get on some if you really want or decide to give it a go at them!!! God bless you and your family sir!!!
Thank you for the tip. I'll have to try that one day. I think I was told buttermilk also. I havent tried it yet, but I only caught one in that last trap I had to check that day so I figured I'd just let it go back with it's friends down there yea!!!
Just wondering, why is it that it seems all of you guys go far away from where you live to fish. It would seem there would be fish anywhere in the river. Memo
This is the closest place I have to launch my boat, and it's only 30 minutes away? Maybe I spoke wrong, but thank you for the comment, and we hope to hear from you again with anything else you want to know. God bless you, sir!!
