Definitely the best 2 hours I spent watching something. There is no place that can hold a candle to Saint Bernard the best place to live I was born here I'm gone to die here would never think about moving.
Ain't nothing better than being in Louisiana I live in bayou pigeon need to come do some videos over here love you content brother keep up the good work
I see a two hour Outside the Levees video, I crack a cold beer, kick up my feet, and click the like button. Gave us a whole dang documentary! Great job as usual brother
I'm from marrero (westbank) close to Jean Lafitte..... And this my kinda content imma swamp boy loooooove fishing loooooove the fisherman of our beautiful state much love and tons of respect keep fishin keep trappin baaaby
I grew up in Lafayette and almost every weekend my dad would load me and my brothers up, hook up the boat and head out to the Atchafalaya to go fishing. Now I live all the way up in Utah and during the summer months I actually take my daughters out to one of the lakes up here that have crawfish and we load up and have friends and family boils every few Sundays! These 2 hours were a trip down memory lane for me! I seriously appreciate the content!
I’m a tattoo artist and I completely understand what you’re talking about. There’s nothing like working for yourself and I can’t just go find another job. The time is almost priceless ❤ so it’s never about money or how much money I make just want to live comfortably and take care of my family and trying to stay rooted in / on what’s important
Good to see you Jarad. Thanks for taking us along with you. If I ever get the chance to come to At Bernard, I know I would weight 300lbs or more when I left. I would eat everything I could and then some. Much love to you and your family ❤
Thank you sirs for your hard work commercial fishing is hard. Shrimping and fishing is a beautiful industry, I am coming to the dock.. helping the industry. I am a server for 20+ years and work hard for my family..This looks like so much fun I would love to take my family on a charter like this.. new sub here. Much ❤
Being from New England I was so happy to hear the catfish fisherman refer to the menhaden as both “pogie” and “bunker/bunkah”. Thanks for introducing me to Saint Bernard Parish.
I LOVE IT ALL PLEASE CONTINUE TO DO WHAT YOU DO, THANK YOU ALL, SO MUCH FOR SHARING IT ALL, BRING IT ON, YOUR, VIDEOS ARE EXCELLENT, LIKE I'M RIGHT THERE, WITH YOU ALL.CATCHING THEM BEAUTIFUL FISH, LOVE THE LOCATIONS , AND ALL, YOUR GOOD SPRITES TALK, INFO, ALONG THE WAY, JUST BEAUTIFUL.
Similar to the intro image, My uncles family owns some land of the intracoastal canal in terrebonne parish. The canal they cut to access higher land threw up small levees on either side. Over time, oak, cypress and water Tupelo grew and became covered in Spanish moss. It’s so beautiful at sunrise or sunset to motet your way along it. It feels spiritual every time, like I’m seeing, hearing, smelling and experiencing what my ancestors have experienced since the 1640s. I really don’t have words that appropriately capture how it makes me feel. Maybe “home”
Could not force myself to stop watching! From the title'screen/thumbnail all the way through - that place of yours looks divine! And your video gave me a direly needed visual escape from the eastern-european hell-hole in which I sadly am trapped against my will. Wish I was in St.Bernard Parish, instead of bulgaria, but alas...
Louisiana is a beautiful place. I'll never forget my first job there (it was remodeling the Sheridan, the first hotel when you cross the causeway on the right, in Metairie). We pulled into the parking deck, and I thought mice were running everywhere. It turns out they were what I now call, Palmetto bugs, or big roaches 😂. My idea of self control then was a bartender calling last call. Needless to say, I left the bar after sunrise the next morning, many times, not realizing that much time had passed. 😂 And the French Creole women, with that accent... Guud Lawd! 😁
I've had the opportunity to inshore fish all down the east coast to Miami, and I live in the FL Panhandle. I've taken some trips to LA before and I can verifiably say that South LA is home to some of the best inshore fishing bar none, and the most hospitable, helpful, kind, salt-of-the earth people you will ever meet. I call Florida my home but sadly the coastal towns of Florida mostly pale in comparison to South LA when it comes to friendly people and the sheer number of quality fish to be caught.
I love this episode tell him the Job he is doing is good because that's his life and if he enjoys it don't worry about what people say about what he does because they are clueless keep doing what he loves I love it
those white shrimp are the best tasting shrimp in the world ! sweet with a nice firm texture nothing compares ! that farm raised shit they send over here from other countries, well i wouldnt feed it to my dog ! i fished those waters many years ago with a family friend joe dotsy trosclair. the trosclairs were life long residents of arabi. Joe took us all over to fish for speckle trout and redfish. the trosclairs are long gone now but never forgotten ! i plan on coming back to st bernard this fall to visit. got to stop by rocky and carlo to eat , if there is a good guide you can recommend out of delacroix let me know. GOD bless you all, you are real people !!!
I think this is the best video you have ever put out!!! Now I'm not saying the rest of your videos aren't good by no means but this is my fav. I think you are doing a great job Jarad!!!
It’s amazing if this fishery remains sustainable and not experiencing the same decline that other highly fished regions all over the world are experiencing. Love Nawlins!
Just stumbled across your channel & took me back to my childhood fishing alligator Gar on jugs in Lafitte, LA... Love ya content focused on Southeast Louisiana
Jared Great Video Good learning experience. I know what was going on but poss. explain to people what a wing net vs Bottom trawl time of drag.... what kind of traps like you did with the hoop nets.
Pretty cool stuff. You start out with the shrimp you say its October (say what? It's April up here in the PNW......LOL) Shrimp benedict ....OMG .... I need a couple of those. Gar, I didn't know there was a commercial market for that fish. Some nice size slabs there. 👍👍Bait Boat......, I'm with you lets eat. WOW that's a few cats. Thanks for sharing your industry with us. Two thumbs up. Keep um coming. I'm making plans to head down you way maybe this fall.
Great compilation bud, love sea food and this was just making my belly scream for everything I saw.. you guys are lucky to have a beautiful selection.. Time to subscribe I think.. Now to go through your videos 😁 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
South Lake Michigan we staked out gill nets back in the 80s in Gary 2 nets a person wade out to top of waders with 2 people stake out and grab a full net to pluck on beach once in a magic while late April.:now you can limit out on spring coho in an hr
I need to get me a new set of skimmers made for my aluminum boat. Sold them before Katrina. Been missing it. Haven’t shrimped that area. But would shrimp the nights also. But would get 4-5 ice chest sell enough to pay for the trip a some extra money an fill my freezer. Wasn’t a business for me. But a way to fill mine a give some to family and friends sell off whatever else. But been itching to start doing it again here and there. An running crab traps haven’t done that in just as long. That though I would do just for my household wasn’t running a ton of traps to sell any. But did that strictly for my own eating.
The people in this video are the kind that keep this country fed and working, they are very much appreciated.
I like the video
This is what the backbone of American fisheries really looks like and I am grateful for their hard work and sacrifices.
Definitely the best 2 hours I spent watching something. There is no place that can hold a candle to Saint Bernard the best place to live I was born here I'm gone to die here would never think about moving.

I'm so glad to see commercial fishing surviving somewhere in our nation. Here in California they ruined it. Great show, I'm glad I found it.
Thanks for watching!
