- Spending a weekend on an off-grid houseboat in the Louisiana marsh is an unforgettable way to experience the unique lifestyle of the bayou. Surrounded by cypress trees, winding waterways, and abundant wildlife, this off-grid retreat offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. With solar power for electricity, rainwater collection for fresh water, and a composting toilet, the houseboat embodies sustainable living while embracing the spirit of the Louisiana outdoors. The marsh’s tranquility invites long days of fishing, birdwatching, and exploring hidden coves, all while indulging in local Cajun and Creole cuisine. Whether you’re kayaking through the swamp or simply relaxing on the deck, the experience highlights the beauty of living in harmony with nature, where the slow pace of life allows you to reconnect with the rhythms of the land. This weekend retreat combines off-grid living with Louisiana’s rich cultural heritage for a truly immersive experience.
Man, I gotta tell ya, you are a good man. Of all the channels I've come across, your positive attitude especially towards children shines through the camera. You are a true ambassador to nature and the outdoors.
Nah everybody do da on TH-cam
I second the hell out of this. A man who exemplifies being a good father and all around good person. You’re about it, Jarred and it’s (pardon my ‘French’) fuckin awesome. Big kudos always.
Man you have no idea how nice that is to hear. God bless you
Facts!! God bless
Hello 👋 Jared, at my age I have a few. I have three major pains that I’m fortunate enough to only be dealing with occasionally. I shattered my left knee in ‘07, I broke my arm in ‘10, and injured my entire lower back in ‘95. Daily aches and pains aren’t an issue even trying to improve and keep up our little farm as retirement can be very boring if you let it. Thank you 🙏 for taking the time to make these videos and taking me along on the journey 👍💪🙌🙏🌈✌️🐽🐷🐖
amen your farm sounds like a great place too
Merry Christmas Jared!
Great video! What an amazing time & memories you guys created for yourselves. Food looked absolutely delicious.
Thanks for sharing!!!
I really enjoyed this video. The duck hunting, the fishing, the fantastic camp food, ham and biscuits in the duck blind, tight sleeping quarters in the camp. What more can a man ask for. Sand hill crane breast at the camp, wow. Keep em coming Jared.
I really appreciate you for saying that
Hey Jared! I lived in New Orleans until I graduated from college and entered the Army. 74 now and had both hips replaced 8 years ago and now need both knees replaced. NuNu Broussard is originally out of Milton. By far, the best boudin around, too. They're in Youngsville, Scott, and building a big store in Maurice.
Tell him to give a brother a sponsorship lol
Ya gotta do the pan seer skin down. If ya cook duck a lot, watch the anthony bordaine episode where he shows the audience how they do duck in upper end restaurants. Its really not that hard and it comes out incredible

Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3, my muscles are getting weak as time goes on. Two broken ankles, a dislocated hip joints, and a spine that's starting to curve and develop arthritis. Despite that, at 52 years old, I'm still walking a little, working full-time, taking care of myself and my family. Aches, pains, bones popping, and cracking go away when I work, hunt, and fish. It's my therapy because if I don't use my muscles, I'll lose them. Stay strong, folks 💪
Damn man I’m sorry to hear all that. God bless you
@OutsidetheLevees I love my life, the great outdoors and your videos. Keep at it... Never give up!
my chocolate female was a Kokoa ;)
I really like how y’all have your pull-in blinds setup. Are there any plans or extra photos that you can share so that I can replicate?

I don’t freeze fish and only really eat them when I’m filming I’d rather red meat or chicken most days.

I don’t know what the poor folks are doing? Not eating hot ham. Dude… I can’t watch you anymore. Good luck!
It’s a common southern expression not an actual judgement on the poor. You normally say it when you are having a good meal regardless of your situation in life. Google it I’m sure they can explain it better. God bless
