Uhh, Bulbapedia says the Destiny Knot only works starting generation VI, not generation IV. Which is it? In Gen IV you can still use the Power [items] to pass on any single IV, at which point it becomes a matter of crossbreeding Dittos.

@@narutokun5025 the whole team earns EVs with modern exp share. If a party member is holding a ev boosting item, it gets the bonuses even when not in battle
I’m playing leaf green and trying to figure out one thing. I have my new Pokemon I just caught level 32. Can I go farm for EV’s and not worry about leveling up? I know if it hits 100 I can’t add anymore. But if I knock out 3 Pokemon giving 1EV each then I level up, do they cancel it out or nothing happens and I’m good to knock out 1 more for that stat point? Thank you.
Thanks for the explanation! Was wondering, how do I check a Pokemon's IVs and EVs? Are there some tools to check, or can I tell by their Summary stats? I mainly play gen 3 pokemon games
@@eliapinzari unfortunately it’s really hard to tell in gen 3. The best in game check is a man who will judge your IVs at the Battle Frontier. Even then, it is tricky to evaluate IVs with this npc. The summary stats are your best option but make sure to check at benchmarks like lv50 lv100

@@eliapinzariNope, there's a judge in the gen 4 games too who gives easily interpretable answers. Check "individial values" on Bulbapedia and page over to "gen IV"
@@OkcStarX the answer to this depends on which game you are playing. Generally speaking it is much easier to see these stats in modern games compared to older versions. I’d do a quick internet search for the specific version you are interested in

@@Krazyampotiks I have some videos on my channel that highlight some of the best teams I’ve used in certain playthroughs. You could start there for some ideas. I usually choose typings that compliment my starter. Otherwise I’d just do a quick internet search to see what movesets others have had success with. Base stats are also a good indicator of play-style
It does not take 4 EVs to raise stats by 1 point, it takes 8 of them. It only takes 4 EVs to raise the stats by 1 when you go from 0 EVs to 4 EVs on a stat; the next time you'll raise that stat by a point will be when you go from 4EVs to 12 EVs, and so on for the rest of the 252 EVs. So, while there is a 1 point difference between 84 EVs and 92 EVs, there is no difference at all between 84 EVs and 88, or 90, etc. Those are just wasted EVS. Of course this only matters if you don't plan on distributing your EVs according to the 252/252/4 scheme.
@@fedepae I just did some calcs and this is false. When adding 8 EVs to a stat, the stat increased 2 points. One point for every 4 EVs. If you don’t believe me you can create an EV spread on Pokémon Showdown. No disrespect, I just wanted to be certain (:

So here is the thing. In Pokemon platinum. I defeated 11 staravia, meaning I should get 22 speed evs. But when my Glaceon leveled up he only got 4 evs. My Glaceon is lel 48 currently. Please explain!!🥲🤌🏻

@@fawwaz7419 that sounds like a good idea for a more defensive build. I’d compare to smogon sample sets for a better idea of what is viable
