    ✔ More about this video:
    Let's face it, the reason why we use Gutenberg Blocks instead of some page builders is because we want our sites to load fast and have as little bloat as possible.
    If not, there is really no reason for using a Gutenberg Block plugin.
    So, we will be doing some tests on Google PageSpeed insights and what we are looking for is the DOM size of each block. Please neglect the PageSpeed score as it is due to the ever degrading webhost. It is tested and proven. That's why I am changing my sites to a2 Hosting: jackcao.com/a2hosting
    But for now, I have to bear with the slow website.
    We won't have a lot of time to test every block, so I will only be testing about 10 blocks. My criteria is:
    🏆 Lightweight Block: Below 40 DOM Elements
    🥈 Medium-weight Block: Between 40 to 100 Elements
    🥉 Heavyweight Block: Above 100 DOM Elements
    The blocks that I have tested are:
    00:00 Introduction
    01:42 Weight Classification of Blocks
    03:03 Blank Page DOM Size
    05:00 Advanced Chart
    06:45 Animated Service Boxes
    09:22 Before & After
    10:07 Heading Animation
    10:54 Timeline
    12:44 Data Table
    12:19 What I think about the blocks so far
    14:26 Process Steps
    15:34 LottieFiles Animation
    17:57 Progress Bar
    18:57 Social Sharing
    20:52 Awesome Blocks that I Couldn't Test due to Technical Issues

    Hi and thanks for sharing this tutorial, I think adding DOM size is just one important metric, but we also need to see haw many and how much JS and CSS will be added by these plugins.

    Thanks for the amazing video Jack ❤, creator like you uphold the WordPress community with such detailed analyzed videos.
    And for the Front end issue, I would like to inform you that that can be easily fixed by clearing The Plus Performance Cache,
    This is a special asset delivery mechanism to deliver 2 assets for each page i.e. 1 CSS and 1 JS for any no of widgets present.

    Thank you for showing this! I can see myself using this as well. Regarding the lottie animation; was there an option to display it only once per page load? I would like to have an animated site logo, and was thinking if the lottie block could solve this challenge.

    How well does The Plus play with Kadence Blocks? Can their blocks be placed inside of a Kadence Blocks Row? Our sites and pages are very fast, thanks to you I'd like to add. I don't want to mess them up by falling prey to "shiny object syndrome." Thank you for your hard work.

    Another great video Jack!
    ...but just wondering what you think about The Plus Blocks and their positioning for future FSE readiness vs. Stackable with their seismic shift towards FSE with their v3.0 release? In your opinion are The Plus Blocks 'future-proof' for FSE (and thus worth the LTD now) or might they too also need to make a shift in their approach the same way Stackable did? In other words - does it appear the LTD of TPB will hold it's value 'as is'? (...or if you had to pick 1 of the 2: maybe Stackable is the safer bet with them simply needing to keep adding more blocks to catch-up to others like TPB? ...while already being ready for FSE).

    Hi Jack,
    excellent presentation !
    I tested few blocks using Kadence theme and they are a bit buggy.
    For example, accordion block is giving me an error if I try to place some dynamic content inside this block.
    In Kadence accordion block this dynamic content, which is done with another plugin, is showing nicely.
    ps. long time ago I asked you for your opinion regarding Jetengine plugin...anyhow, I tested it. It is lightweight, you can query/filter almost anything, create CCT,etc. However, they don't have block for raw and columns, hence you need to pair with another gutenberg plugin, and Stackable is the only one I found to work with Jetengine, especially if you want to use Jetengine listing block. In addition, Stackable container and columns block (V2) is so awkward. Stackable V3 is not stable with dynamic content. This is my experience.

      @adityaarsharmapersonal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Basket, Dynamic content support is not yet added in The Plus Addons. As we speak we are working on it. Then afterwards it will be integrated with ACF, Toolset, Pods & Meta Box.

    Lots of blocks I'm looking forward to in this package but reportedly there are still a lot of bugs and quirks. Things that don't work the way you'd expect etc

    Wow Jack... there are some awesome blocks here. Thanks for the review.
    The Data Tables made me sit up and gasp! Data tables are such a useful way to display information but such a design challenge when it comes to responsive layout. To have a good implementation done for you (when its fixed) is almost worth the price just for that.

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. When I was doing it with CSS, it was a nightmare. This makes it so much easier! I've done lots of research and even some premium Table Plugins do not provide such mobile optimized table. Definitely worth the money! Hopefully, the bugs will be fixed.

    Jack Could you please make a video about how to decrease DOM elements in an article while we are using Gutenberg Editor on Wordpress?
    Thanks

    • @JackCao
      @JackCao  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it is an article, I recommend only using lightweight blocks. There is no way to reduce DOM other than using lightweight blocks and try not to use animations as they are heavier.

    What you just showed is my experience with Gutenberg alot of potential but soooo many bugs all over.
    My second concern is that i could end up with frankenberg. Installing Gutenberg plugins from serval places cause you cannot get blocks from one place that cover all tour needs.
    And last i know you said dont look at the speed number but why the big drop from 87 to 60 ?

    • @adityaarsharmapersonal
      @adityaarsharmapersonal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi MB,
      We have our own Asset delivery mechanism, due to which we just have to purge Performance cache once from our dashboard.
      And for speed scores, its because just after fresh Siteground cache purge the content was fetched for page insights. Once cache gets preload, you will experience much better speed scores. For example our own domain with all blocks used - its 90+

    • @MB-sl8pw
      @MB-sl8pw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adityaarsharmapersonal ok that would mean that without cache the score is 60 and with cache its 90 plus ?
