Previous bike was Ninja 1000 which is classified as a sport tourer, the ZX14 is more more of a sport tourer than the 1000, was really pissed off that I waited so long to get the ZX14, after getting it I was like wtf is up with all these people saying the bike is too big, too heavy
Actually Kawasaki makes a ZX-14 that a lot of people dont know about, because it has removable bags and they pulled the handlebars back. It’s called the Concours 14 or the GTR. Check it out if you don’t know about it. That’s what replaced my ZX-14. It was quite an upgrade.
People are wierd. Also, no leg days. Leg days help XD Managing a motorcycle is a pretty physical thing. And fitness level, strength, size and height make a huge difference in how a bike feels from person to person.
@@vincentdavidson755 i'm 5'7 and my zx14r feels just fine really. Seat height is a bit higher than the Busa (even if spec sheets state otherwise). The zx14 does feel great in most situations, but take it to a twisty road and you'll feel its weight on tight radius turns. It will make you break sooner than a regular liter bike as it takes more effort to turn. Progressively accelerating (real smooth and light acceleration) while turning helps a lot. Outside these conditions, the bike is incredible really. It actually feels wierd how smooth it runs and turns in general.
I'm 5"8 and I wonder if the 14 is the bike for me I had a zx11 and I used to cruse at 110 to 160 alot on the freeway it was real good at hi speed now that I'm older I still miss the power it's like brain food I have a 1200 Harley s it's been a good bike but nothing like a kawe on the freeway
Ya and a busa is a dirt bike lol. Zx 14 anything !! only exists because of the mighty busa and was tuned to be slightly faster than busa to reclaim the long lost top spot , busa is the king of speed !

for 3 years i rode a 2001 katana 600 that took me 3 years to rebuild (6 years total) and it handled awesome. after buying my zx14r the extra weight of the bike forced me to take 2 weeks tuning the suspension to my weight and riding style. surprisingly it handles almost as good as the little katana. this is my second kawasaki in 32 years of riding. she is a keeper.
I've had many of the top end Z bikes. ZX11, ZX12R and now 2 years with the ZX14R. The bike is very well balanced, and making those tight U-Turns is surprisingly easy. Best bike I've ridden so far. Perfect ride for California's Pacific Coast Highway. Happy riding.
I had all of them and the H1 500 and H2 750 Gpz 750 Turbo, Gpz 1100 and I remember I was right there for the mighty ZX-11 did your 2nd gear go on you? Now after 2008 ZX-14 special edition got her turbocharged everything done faster than my 2015 H2. Love my ZX-14 for touring.
I had a 1993 ZX-11 back when I lived in Los Angeles and I loved riding on PCH, especially up to Neptune's Net for some great shrimp. I loved my ZX-11 and I live in Michigan now and just picked up a 2022 ZX-14R and that bike is just amazing in every way.
I spent about 6,500 miles hard riding a brand new zx9r back in 99, it was a serious machine I really enjoyed it... then i got to ride the 14r a cpl yrs ago..... wow! A perfect blend for an older sport bike guy. Comfortable, awesome wind protection..... and sooooo unbelievably powerful. I love the zx14r, But I’m afraid one would kill me.
Never road one myself , until I bought a new 17 ZX SE last week. Did handle so much better than what people say when they write reviews on it, you can rial it thru turns same speed on the street as a 600 , just need to be more in tune with the bike and the controls, unlike a 600 you can't have a hickup mid turn . I'm coming from only riding 600cc to compare .

From the UK the zzr1400 ps is an awesome bike had one for 22 months quickshifter fitted , suspension set up professionally , Akros, a flying machine it is. 15000 miles in that time with about 8 months no winter use. Lovely handling just got a bit bored so traded it in for an aprilia tuono v4 1100 factory !! Much more exciting 😜👍
Love it man! Would really like to see you try out a newer Yamaha FJR. I used to ride one and they are old man swag! Super easy fun big bikes, but super sporty and quick too. Yamaha Definitely hit the nail on the head with the whole "Sport Touring" Class. Stay safe, Stay fresh Dank!

Why do you ride it like a 600 almost red line area? these bikes have a lot a torque across the rev range which is a load of fun to use. I have a zx14 and yes you can ride at revs you like but I chose mine not to ride like my old 1 litre. No criscising just a comment.

Zx14 is busa killer enough said and a ninja which means telepathetic turning and highest speeds you ever dreamed of.in matters of xr type of bikes i would compare with maybe a yamaha tracer mt09 also you positioned much less extend on the xr. ninja zx14 has a kind of supersport extend position but much more comfortable than a traditional 1000
