Oppo has spent the last few years leaving a significant dent in the smartphone market and a lot of it has to do with the quality of its products. The company's R lineup was always meant to defy the odds of smartphone design, and in the case of the new R9s, some of this legacy made it, some of it didn't.

It doesn't matter if this phone looks like an iphone. All that matters is how the phone performs for the price.
Not really, you have to like the thing you are holding in your hand by feel and looks... plus there are other factors like the screen, the feature set, the durability, cameras etc...

It does matter if you don't like iPhones or a good price-performance ratio.

I too have been an apple user for a long time. oppo is good for the price and performance
OPPO used to make such durable and overall great and unique phones before with their Find line. now all they do is make iPhone clones and hope they sell.
Alex De La Rosa they sell a lot, beating xiaomi, huawei, apple and Samsung in China. I like the old oppo, but money talks. Still, u can find the reminiscence of old oppo in oneplus.
they sold 20million oppo r9 in 2016 and topped the charts in the chinese market in 2016 with 5 of their models in the top 10 most phones sold

they sold alot more phones for looking like Apple. But they've lost their identity...

I have r9s and it's killer sd 625 is great for power efficiency that's why battery is impressive 4g ram is plenty for response I think they did a good job
Oppo=Oneplus, that's why you feel less Oppo present in USA. Oneplus is like their insurance.

Somu GHOSH when you look at OnePlus and OPPO they are like day and night.OP is like a buy on a Android side and OPPO is catch on iOS side so they have good strategy but I would never use it.

Just tested the camera now with my friends and damn! It's so clear and I decided to buy later. Just excited to get this one and will be using for Fifth Harmony 7/27 live tour.
I bought one. Very happy. Battery life and quick charge are both amazingly good. Feel and quality is higher than most Chinese phones. Negatives are no NFC and a couple of software quirks (need a couple of swipes to access notifications which makes it feel clunky).
How long is the battery life on screen?
so which is better for gaming, R9s or find 9....
This is my second go-to phone currently. For a mid-ranger,the performance is excellent. Good job Oppo!

The Oppo R9 just got released in Australia so to hear that there's already a R9s in the US is crazy
Now used OppoR9s and I say it's a very good phone when it comes to camera and I am satisfied everytime I posted my photos on Instagram it's so damn clear.
This is a great pathway for iPhone 5 or 6 users to migrate to the Android Community. Snapdragon 625 is snappy, the OS is fluid even if it's a skinned one. The camera is decent, if not then great!
I think Oppo actually has a point on this one, they're targeting migrating users.

Oppo R9S is a surprisingly good phone for the price. And their VOOC charging is insanely fast. If you can't get the OnePlus 3 phones, the Oppo R9 and R9S are great alternatives.

What is the difference between the snapdragon 625 and the snapdragon 835 that is on high-end smartphones today?
corey pilgram First, the 835 isn't even out in a phone yet and won't be until the S8 is released. Second, the 625 is more like a midranger Soc with power efficiency as a main priority while the 800' series is always the best of the best at least in raw performance. And third, idc for who was the question i can't sleep and this comment section lools promising.

Looks nice but one of things that keep me from buying this phone or some other Chinese brand phone... is will it get software's updates? security updates? anytime soon after they come out?
I use my phone for everything, banking...Amazon ... credit card bills... paying utilities.. I hardly ever turn on my computer anymore... my point... updates are important to me... one of the reasons I bought an unlocked US
HTC 10 is because of this... and it's on the January sercuity release and so it's worked out well here in the states.

I think despite the copying of the chinese companies, they actually bruild pretty good hardware, and once you get used to the software, its actually pretty good.

I like how the oneplus 3 and the oppo r9 have basically the same chassis. Front is the same, but for the majority of the people just the r9 is a clone.
