  • Most of us think of bit-crushing and sample reduction when we think of recreating classic arcade sounds in a stomp box. Those effects alone can certainly get you in the arena of that audible nostalgia. In typical fashion, Meris raises the bar and gives us more than we expected or even knew to ask for. In a world where some pedals can feel interchangeable with little difference to distinguish them. Meris sets this bit-crusher far apart from others in its class. Combining sample reduction and bit-crushing with a flexible six-step sequencer, stutter effect, and an excellent low-pass filter makes Ottobit jr something truly special.
The same rules that apply to all Fiddling with Knobs apply here. No tweaking or tone sweetening took place after the initial recording. I use a TC Electronic Hall of Fame and Flashback so you can clearly see how much delay and reverb is being added. All settings are shared below so you can try them out if you like.
    I’m playing:
Fender Squier - Classic Vibe 60s
TC Electronic - Flashback delay and Hall of Fame reverb
    Dunlop - Volume X Mini
Line 6 - Helix LT (for amp modeling)
Additionally, here are the links to my Bandcamp and Soundcloud.
