I think the Providence Anadime v3, is the best analog Chorus tone, I’ve ever heard. Just behind it, is the different analog chorus effects, I can get from my Mad Professor Double Moon. It can do Flange chorus too. It’s not digital either. It’s a killer pedal, that is slept on. I’ll say the right Electric Mistress, as not all of them sound as good, is my number three Chorus effect. I remember when I first found out Andy Summers was using one on so many of those tracks, that most people assumed was Chorus.
I have like four delay pedals, and sequencing them in stereo on different modes makes for an interesting chorus sound that almost dips into phaser at its edges! I'd definitely recommend the NUX timecore on analog -> OBNE reverse delay -> Keeley Caverns on the light mod setting. Great video!
Troy Van Leeuwen (QOTSA and Chelsea Wolfe currently, everyone else on the planet previously) has the Rainbow Machine first in his pedal chain, always on, doing a combination of the detuned sound you demonstrated with the feedback trick from your first example. Love your approach, you've definitely earned a new fan and subscriber!
my 80s rackmount Roland digital delay is my favorite chorus and i'm going to pick up another one of them soon. in fact, all my "choruses" come from mostly older digital delays and that's basically what i buy them for! some i haven't even touched the knobs on in years because i like just where their modulation is set at (hence my reason for wanting multiple units of the same model). i have another one that basically does nothing but compress & "rubber" up my kick drums real nicely and that's about all i use it for. one gives a really nice sense of space almost like a reverb. some even capture/sample/hold audio and the knobs mangle it. some are for one specific thing only, only get used on specific instruments while not on others. i use my delays more often for anything but delay! there's a reason why delay units outnumber all the other effects in my studio and probably count for half of those effects total.
Boss harmonist - has a detune setting that, when mixed with your dry signal, makes a very stable chorus effect with virtually no "motion" the way most traditional chorus effects have.
while not a pedal strictly speaking but in vcv rack i really like patching an envelope follower to the delay time on a delay to kinda combine the modulated delay and the envelope vibrato ideas
Once when I needed some money, I decided to sell some pedals. I had a decent chorus, so I A+B'd it against the detune mode on the whammy 5 to see if I could afford to lose it and it was undiscernible. Also, that dano is rad.
@@BaBaBaBenny Awesome. The Whammy 5 detune setting is pretty incredible. Thanks! The dano has one of my favorite necks I own. Plan on making it look kinda like a TB500 with two p90s eventually.
I’ve been debating making a video about the Whammy 5 chorus specifically because I never see people talk about it. Not sure if this means I don’t have to or gives me more reason to spread the word.
Yeah nice! Similar to the whammy sound. I have a boss ps-2 that I considered including in the vid, but was too similar to rainbow machine. Been looking for a cheap ps-3 to explore some of those sounds also. Great series of pedals.
I picked the right day to up my microdose. Great vid
That wasn't a microdose, Vin.
Cool video. Enjoyed the Radiohead!

Sending this video anytime someone questions my Boss BF-2 Flanger chorus supremacy take
@@PumpkinPieces33 I so very nearly included a clip with one ha
@@VincentSebastianMusic real ones know 😤😅 excellent video homie
BF2 IS THE BEST CHORUS HANDS DOWN
As a fan of chorus, I appreciate this video. Great style.
@@StompboxBreakdown Hey, thanks so much! Also really enjoy your videos!
the EHX electric mistress is my favorite “chorus” pedal

Do you have the original with Reticon chip?
I could watch this video for hours straight 😅 it’s so inspiring! Thanks for sharing!

That sounds sick! Have you posted any clips of that chain anywhere? Would love to hear. Thanks!

@@noyd4172 Ah yeah right on! I’ve seen a decent handful of people use it that way but didn’t know he was one. Thanks!
@@VincentSebastianMusic Mike Stern also has an always-on Boss Harmonist in detune mode at the end of his chain. The non-chorus chorus is so real.
Thank you for this. It's exactly the type of content I was looking for. Suscribed!😊
The synth part is dope👏
I bet this guy's band has a good bassist

Every delay with modulation is basically just a fancy chorus. I blame the fact that they both use bucket brigades.
Flangers can get a chorus thing going
The Boss Harmonist was the first non-chorus pedal I discovered chorus in.
Also, this is the kind of content I'm trying to see.
Mike Stern is a Boss Harmonist chorus enjoyer, literally has it on all the time ever since he tried it.

you should do a video on how anything can be a distortion pedal
ha, i'm into it. distortion doesn't exist.
@@VincentSebastianMusic just various stages of non distortion.
