  • Pit Boss Burn Off On The New Pro Series Elite. First I am very impressed with is Pit Boss Pro Series 1600 Elite! From my experience I think this is Pit Boss's best pellet grill to date as far quality and features! Now obviously I need to start cooking on it but there has been zero issues so far and I do not see anything changing real soon!! I can't believe how quiet the Pro Series 1600 Elite runs!! I hope to see them do more models like this in the future! Next up a brisket cook to see how it runs when it matters most!! Thanks for watching!!

    For a year I’ve been wanting to smoke. This week I’ve been watching a lot of reviews. For storage space reasons I’m going vertical (still want to keep my grill) so we still have seating on the patio. But the main reason for my comment is all week this is the first burn off video I’ve seen and I’m glad I’ve come across this. Clicking that subscribe.

This is something off subject but wanted to let you know I have made arrangements this week to rent a foodtrailer for the next 7 months. I'll be doing bbq at our local farmers market every Saturday. Now I'll be able to do some events and pop up's. It's a fully certified commercial kitchen. So starting in May I'll start doing videos occasionally at the market. Should be fun. Fyi, I'm scared as hell to. Wish me luck 😁👍🔥🍻

      Yep James I plan to record a video with the insert. I have tested it out and this is designed as an open pit grill. So burgers, brats, hot and fast steak, or anything you just grill. Works dang good and it can get very hot!!! ha ha Once it warms up more I plan to do a little more practice runs and then I will post a video. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment!!

    I just picked up the pit boss 6 series elite from Lowes. It’s my first vertical smoker, and it is very quiet compared to my pro 1100. Only complain is even with the water pan temp. fluctuates like crazy. Set it to 225 and I checked and it was up to 265! I really enjoy the videos! Thanks for sharing!

    • @DeadBrokeBBQ
      @DeadBrokeBBQ  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well all pellet grills fluctuate. My Lone Star Grillz swings 50 degrees all the time but so does my offset. It really doesn't matter unless you get 100° spikes. Cook until tender and enjoy. Heck put probes in your oven and I think you will be shocked! Thanks for watching and just cook.

    Nice informative video Ricer! I too am anxious on that heat up time. I agree, love those SS grates, because those diamond porcelain coated ones are a pain in the butt with all the clanging trying to clean them. • @DeadBrokeBBQ

      Thanks Kevin!! I will certainly time how long it takes to get up to temp on the brisket cook. I know that just from so much time spent on Baby Huey it certainly was faster. I will use the app down the road also. Ya if the front shelf was 3 inches deeper it would help a ton!! I got a comparison in the mix in a couple weeks also but I obviously want to spend a little time on this pit to make sure that it is better than the OG 1600. After doing so many burn offs, I noticed that both are burning in. So I just spray it right away and get it done. Thanks for watching!

    I dont understand why you would spray cooking oil all over the inside that will catch smoke and stain everything. This is high heat oil you could use for seasoning a pan if you do not have proper seasoning oil. Can you tell me why and what the reason is for spraying oil before you turn the heat on for first time burn off procedure that is designed by the manufacturer to burn off all manufacturing oils and test the function ?

      Done it both fricking ways a 100 times and yes I have had over a 100 grills. It don’t mount to a hill of beans either way. You burn off the machining oil and it leaves a stain. All you want to do is burn the shit off. Do it how ever your little heart desires, but you are just wasting time. I coat it up right away because these pits aren’t dipped in an oil bath before they are sent. Ha ha just a little here or there. Again you can run yours for a couple hours and then add the cooking oil to add some seasoning. Or don’t add any cooking oil. But I add it because 100% it makes clean up a lot easier. I have done 1,000’s of cooks, so experience goes a long ways.

      So its for an easier cleanup. Thats what I wanted to know, you didnt mention that in the video, or I missed it, That does not apply to me as I only clean the firebox, the bottom of the grill and the grates, along with wiping down the outside. I never clean the upper or side walls, except to clean the temp sensor every cook. But thanks for the reply. I will be buying a new pellet grill and am looking at all the reviews, which mostly seem to point back to the Traeger pro 575 or the new Recteq.@@DeadBrokeBBQ

    I wonder if us 1600 Pro owners can get the controller and bottom grate from the 1600 Elite? If not I will have to think hard about selling my 1600 Pro.

    • @DeadBrokeBBQ
      @DeadBrokeBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not the controller but you might be able to get the grates in a few months on their website.
      The controller is designed around the brushless motors. You would have to buy the whole hopper assembly too. But not sure that would fit exactly right either. Thanks for watching!
