    honestly pit boss limiting the titan to just academy and no other retailers nation wide or direct sale is a major major mistake.

    As a previous Qstoves+ user, I made the switch to Asmoke and couldn't be happier! Asmoke's unique wood pellet system adds a distinct flavor to my food that I couldn't achieve with Qstoves. The temperature control is also fantastic, it's so precise and allows me to control my grilling process perfectly. The size and weight of the Asmoke grill are also very convenient compared to Qstoves, making it perfect for outings. But what truly sets Asmoke apart for me is the innovative ASCA™ technology and the FlameTech patent. These features not only improve the cooking result, but also make cleaning a breeze! Lastly, the ability to remotely adjust temperature and monitor food via the app is a game-changer. It's not just about grilling anymore, it's a whole new experience! #Asmoke

    I use a fireboard controller and the temp on my boss elite is exactly what the boss controller displays. Now it will fluctuate about 20 degrees while cooking as the pellets burn up and new ones are dropped in. But my controller has been spot on since day 1.

    Thanks for the great comparison. I have the 1600CS but have considered the Titan. Just my 2 cents, but there are a couple things that I didn't care for on the Titan. My local academy had a couple on display and both handles to the pellet clean out were broken. Seems cheap compared to the clean out on the CS and PSE. Also, the open sides of the CS and PSE allow easy access to the ash clean out from the side whereas the closed bottom of the Titan makes it a little harder to access...I loved the rack system but wished the racks themselves were a little heavier duty.

    Hey Grill Sergeant, first off, I really enjoy your videos so keep them coming. My question is, with the Titan not be available in California, do you think PitBoss is coming out with another unit shortly that everyone can purchase? My fear is I’m gonna spend all this money on the elite and then PitBoss will come out with something similar to the titan with all these new features. My gut is telling me to wait it out. What do you think?

    Like the auger safety feature especially during a pellet burn back which eliminates hopper fires. This should be an industry standard or a pressure/temp sensor in the auger tube indicating back burn. Does the titan have a more pronounced smoke flavor?

    The whole thing with the hopper being split baffles me and I’m not sure if anyone else sees this or noticed? When you go to empty out the hopper, it doesn’t release pellets from just one side, but both???!!!! So what really is so different from you just mixing your favorite pellets, 1 or 2 or even 3 kinds of pellets???!!! If it all pours into the bucket once the hopper trap is opened…..doesn’t that defeat the purpose of separating?????? Another thing is the whole biscuit test really just shows how inconsistent your temperature is within your smoker itself, so if you’re trying to cook wings across all your racks, then you’re just juggling the food as your cooking????!!! Plus with the so called temperature probe test, that just tells me that the thermostat location for the grill is located to the cooler side of the grill or where the lightest biscuits where located. The company needed to centralize the internal thermostat (middle of the Grill) to help evenly distributed the heat somehow or is just a case of the blower mechanism sending all the initial heat all the way right??? Just some thoughts & questions. I’d be more interested in which pellet grill performs best (heat) across the whole internal system!!! Thanks 🙏

    You did a good review, so good that I went out and bought a Titan. My Weber Smokefire died over the holidays, instead of putting money into a smoker with a fatal flaw I decided to get a new one. Was waiting on the new Weber Searwood to replace it, but then I saw your video.
    Anyway, it’s a nice grill but I think it’s missed the mark in a couple ways. You didnt say anything about the grill grates, they are scary flimsy. I understand why, but Pit Boss should have made the first rack running front to back and sturdy then the remaining flimsy.
    Also, I see that your pit wasn’t connected to WiFi (light was flashing), did you try to get it hooked up? I cannot get mine to connect, the app just spins and spins.
    Also, from what I’ve read it appears this smoker doesn’t have a way for firmware upgrading.
    What do you think about these issues?

    Sgt, question.. On your Titan brisket video you set the grill to run overnight and said you went to bed and didn't need to worry about it all night. Do you have that same level of confidence with the Elite? Also, how do they compare in reference to quantity of pellets burnt? I know on the Titan brisket video you had several left after your overnight cook but I wonder is that the same with the Elite as well? I have the Competition 1600 original Academy version and it will empty the hopper on a full overnight cook running at 325-350.

    • @GrillSergeant
      @GrillSergeant  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have a level of trust with the Pit Boss controllers and I've ran both the Titan and the Elite overnight without any issues. I would say the burn rate is about the same, so the advantage of the Titan is for sure you will not run out of pellets. I have run out of pellets on the Elite and it's a hassle to get it back up and running if the auguer tube runs dry. It set's you back about an hour. I really like the the new hopper design, you will not get any "stuck" pellets on the sidewalls.

    • @Veehawk
      @Veehawk 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My Pro 1600 Elite was only $1,199 at Lowe's two years ago, cheaper than this newer Titan. It's also double wall insulated stainless steel which not only lasts longer as it doesn't rust but it's easier to clean. It drops to 150, not 180. The grates stop after being pulled out and won't fall out like on the Titan. I also have a manual feed button on the Pro so I can keep the burn pot full when I open the lid to spritz/rotate/temp and not lose temp. The burn pot is easier to reach for emptying and I don't have to crawl on the ground to access the hidden drip bucket like on the Titan. I fill that 32lb hopper once every week to two weeks as that's more than enough for several cooks. The split zone hopper of the Titan seemed cool at first glance but that's just a 50/50 mix. I like controlling my mix by putting one scoop of this to 2 scoops of that or any ratio I choose into a bucket from the bags to make my own blends. After owning the Pro for 2 years there's nothing about the Titan that intrigues me. That black thin walled coated metal makes it look like a cheap Walmart brand gimmick. It's actually a much cheaper smoker with a few new flashy features yet lacking everything that makes it worth that kind of money. How many times do people post pics of their grates falling out dropping food on FB smoking groups? And they made this without any stops to prevent that? No cable management? No stainless steel for that price? They should've upgraded the Pro and not have wasted their time on this.
