- In a national address on Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin says Russia will be mobilising further troops for the war in Ukraine.

Putin also said Russia would give its full support to the referendums announced for this weekend in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia to join the Russian Federation.

Wow the madman is threatening the use of nuclear weapons, if he deploys nuclear weapon over a populated area

This is an outright lie. And the fact that the top leader of Russia lies is disturbing, to say the least. It was Putin that thretened to use and tried to black mail Europe with his use of nuclear. Ukraine has been shelling residential areas in eastern ukraine since the year 2014 and they are still doing it but you the western press doesn't report it
Just so you know, the areas in question have expressed for years that they don't wish to be part of Ukraine. It's what sparked the conflict in 2014. So if the vote is pro Russian, it's expected, not necessarily a "sham".

This situation is very complex and it's easy for most people to see putin as the perpetrator. But I really think the west has a lot to answer for as well. I wish we could wash out all the corruption in the U.S. and maybe even put our differences aside with Russia some day.
I agree both sides have issues. But how about we start with Russia backing out of Ukrainian owned land. One way to keep peace is not to start a war.

Yes to a point but... When something is as high stakes as nuclear annihilation bluffing/warnjng might be used. Russia might use it as a last resort. If everything is lost. The West is counting on a regime change. If there was a build up to such an event nuclear weapons might be used. Some might be less controllable than the West believe and might not go through such a beurocratic chain of command. A semi bluff can easily turn into a warning and an attack.
There might be several rogue nuclear weapons Russia could utilize at short notice.

In a war, you go out to win. Both sides attack each other. The stronger side if it cannot prevail with conventional weapons will go to a higher grade of weapons; it has to if needed to win. It is conceivable the nuclear weapon might be used to force unconditional surrender of Ukraine. Like the US forced Japan. What else is the point of nuclear weapons ? The west must realise not to push luck too much and submit Ukraine to a nuclear sacrifice.

I went to high school with a pretty smart kid, he joined the Air Force and eventually spent several years down in a missile silo waiting for the command to turn the launch keys, and when he got out of the Air Force , he built his home no where near a big city, maybe he’s not a social person .
