Back when the USSR dissovled, Ukraine was stuck with so many nukes that they were for a very short time the third largest nuclear power in the world. They gave them back to russia with the promise of russia recognizing all ukrainian territories. Guess how good that promise was.. When Boris Yeltsin wanted to create the russian federation, he said it was gonna be built on democracy, which utterly failed 2 years later with Boris ordering the attack on parliament.

If you remember a couple months back they did mobilize a lot of people within Russia, I think whats going to happen is the troops within Belarus are going to push south towards Kyiv and even further splitting off the routes that Ukraine uses to get arms and supplies through Poland, if they do this things will get screwy fast. I mean why would they been sending train after train full of tanks armored vehicles supplies into Belarus, it's clear what's coming its just a matter of time.
The only choice left for Russia now is to take over the entire Ukraine.... or else ... Ukraine becomes NATO. It is too late for anything else. Putin needs to re-assess his goals or he will lose in Ukraine.
