    Wiseman is on that Bagley path where he could be a solid bench big but high level starter hopes are almost gone. Definitely a bust, but not out of the league. Johnny Davis is confusingly bad on the NBA level, he'll prolly get that overseas bag after this contract. I think Zaire Williams could still make a jump to be a sixth man type guy personally but we'll see. Josh is absolutely cooked, even if he were a better player he's damaged goods in a way the league doesn't mess with (what he did was highly confusing and concerning)

  • @lmcc0072
    @lmcc0072 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Sometimes it’s about who drafts you and how you’re developed. Sometimes it takes guys a little longer, especially if they get drafted by the wrong team. Look at Jermaine O’Neal. He literally did nothing during the first 4 years of his career. He became a solid rotation player in his 5th year and then a multiple time all-star and All-NBA player after that. The problem is also part of the way that the NBA does business. It’s much more difficult to see if a guy will make it when he’s 18 or 19 rather than at 21-22.

    1. I agree it is time to give up the possibility of Wiseman to turn into a lottery pick player, but I still think he can be an (above) average backup center, like a Gorgei Deng/Plumlee/Richaun Holmes.
    2. Jonny who? I agree.
    3. I kinda liked Ziaire but there wasn't any room for him on those Grizzlies teams, kinda like you said. I still think he could be a borderline starter, like an Al Foruq Aminu/Demare Carroll. If Ziaire was drafted in the 2nd round, people would be like "ya, he's alright".

    I've seen players learn new offensive skills. I have never seen some "all of a sudden" learn to play defense. Wiseman is a defensive sieve, and just can't be on the court. He plays 8th grade defense ("I am taller and faster than you, I am.just gonna go up and block your shot"). Any pump fakes gets him to commit a foul. Sad, but true. Offensively, he's Ok at times. He might have had a long career in the 90s. Then again, Shaq and Olajuwan would have abused him, so who knows

    Here in memphis it has been sad to watch Wiseman's career, it has been destroyed by a lack of development. Penny killed his college career by challenging the NCAA. Then the 'rebuilding' GSW team changed course and he was hurt &/or on the bench for two years. So 4 years into the NBA, he has far less experience than the average G league player, after 2 years on a DOA Pistons team to be disheartened further. Basketball IQ = experience to a large degree, he just hasn't gotten much for his time in the league. I think there's still a chance for him to be a decent utility player, but at this point, never the star he seemed destined to be.

      @@Thomas-j3e Bob Myers left because the Warriors were hopelessly over the salary cap and could not afford to bring in top talent. He failed to resign hardly any of the top role players form their championship team. Plus after he wasted their only chance to level up by wasting #2 overall pick on Wiseman, he'd had enough. At least if he had traded the #2 pick he could have gotten something out of it, instead of nothing at all.

    Some YT analyst did a video claiming Wiseman advanced analytics were similar to Isaiah Hartenstein, although obviously over much less minutes. Pistons are a messed up team with a logjam at big man. Wiseman is very young and had a very short basketball career, definitely a draft bust #2 pick, but I wouldn't wright him out of the league just yet though he is on the bubble.

    Wiseman - hard to see if he either too stupid to figure it out or doesn't care enough to figure it out. All he needs to do is focus on defense and he has a role in this league for a long time, making more money then he'll ever make after the NBA. I don't know that anyone is telling him that. Just play defense! With that body he can rebound, block shots, and defend well. The offense will come when it does, it should NOT be his focus. Plenty of other guys who can shoot the lights out.
    Who is his agent? Some creepy guy in a plaid blazer and a greasy ponytail and cheap sunglasses? Probably.
