I've honestly learned a lot from you, Frostbolt, Aztecross,Cammy and Baken. I use to rush like crazy in pvp thinking thay the faster I move as a titan the better. Learned the hard way that that just made me a bigger target lmao
One thing that I believe gets a lot of people killed is being stuck using the same things over and over again and not diversifying their own skills. Like when you as a sniper get flinched all the time and countered, maybe its time to put that sniper away and use something else? vice versa as well. Sometimes the aping with the shotty doesn't work out because people read you like an open book, so maybe you should change your strategy and approaches. Just people using and insisting that this one loadout they use is guaranteed the way to go 10/10 times is exactly why some folks get killed more often than they need to.
I definitely lose my temper too fast then I just rush and end up dying. However, sometimes when i just stop caring about whatever I was mad about I start doing better because I'm calm. Also, your use of sound is very impressive. I often forget the importance every detail. Thanks for the insight!
Same here .. try to breath deeply cool off and don't pursue a kill to much if a guy runs off and aim for the next one that really helped me, i always punched to much and ended up walking in a shotgun in my face around the corner from that asshole i wanted to finish off and do the same when you're low on health, go around the corner get a shotty and wait, 8 out of 10 will come for their demise
Another big part of tunnel vision is player awareness. Like knowing where your teammates are. I often find myself in a 2v2 which soon becomes a 1v2 because my teammate leaves for some reason and I’m left alone to duel with two people.
Some pretty good tips. I used to make competitive maps for Halo Reach back in the day so got many opportunities to play with the professional MLG guys. The two things they definitely mentioned that you did were tunnel vision and overcommiting. Situational awareness is hecking KEY.
I'm blushing at how many times I've died to number 5 with an SMG. All very helpful tips. I also really indentified with your Randy's vid and I secured my kills in Momentum. Lol
First, can you make a throwing knife guide? I'd like to use them more than just a last ditch effort. Top 5 reasons I'm dying 1. Unbroken stacks teamshooting in control while I'm experimenting with a bow and Thorn. 2. Lag. 3. Supers 4. Heavy 5. Shoulder charge H.M.: Playing the object
A few tips I use: Throw the knife a bit higher (Not much, if you aim too high you will miss) than head-level. Sounds kinda obvious, but it is the difference between getting a headshot or a bodyshot. Practice, practice, practice. I like to use bottom gunslinger in PvE, clean an entire lost sector with only throwing knife headshots. That helps you with knowingwhere the knife will land.
Thanks for this video. When I play pvp I don't even pay attention to any of these tips, I just hop in do some bounties and that's it. Although I know a few of these, like backhoping to a shotgun ape, noticing when the spawn changes, aiming at head level but that's a no brained and if I'm sniping I find myself constantly looking at the radar to see where they are going to come out next, however doing that to much or to phrase it correctly "relying" on the radar to much can and will be distracting, which is why I will pay attention to audio queues a little bit more from now on.
Tunnel vision man. What a huge one that some many players fall prey to! Even players going for their 5500 just get caught trying to finish off someone. I think my biggest version of this fault comes from tunnel vision in an objective more than a player. Trying to secure power ammo when I know odds are way way against me is something I find myself dying to a lot. Could have saved that life!
These are all good points. As someone pretty close to the top 1% for deaths in the crucible, I can offer some experiential perspective... Pushing when I shouldn't is my number one cause of death. Putting myself in 1 v 2s or 3s is a close second. Finally, the overall meta of my potato aim is something that ripshin (me) needs to adjust in his personal sandbox. Until aim is improved, few other things matter. :)
Reasons for dying: 1) When everyone wants to use their super on you (seriously, 6 solo blade barrage in a game is not fun) 2) Being placed IN the enemy spawn (I don't know if it's iron banner but this week it's already happened 5 times) 3) Not using a special weapon
I 100% agree with what true vanguard says about using your ears to play the game, I do this when i play constantly..... One big tip that i swear by that helps me a lot is playing destiny with a Surround Sound system because you hear your audio ques come from the same direction the sound is being made in the game, so if someone is around a corner behind you and is about to sneak up on you from behind you will hear the foot steps behind you a split second before that player rounds the corner and you can be ready a split second faster for that gun fight just from a simple audio que because you herd the footsteps come out of the speakers behind your head giving you a split second advantage... I will never get rid of my surround sound i swear by it.
The reason I’m dying is because I’m running around with a breach GL for mountaintop even though I’m just gonna use it for pve. Anyways... thx 4 the good advice TV, I ran into you on Halloween morning when I was still warming up and man are you quick. Keep up the good work
Yeah man. My biggest problem is failing to realize the spawn just flipped and there are now a shitload of enemies spawning behind me. On some maps I think it's almost stupid the way enemies can spawn on top of you but at the same time I know how spawn flips work and it's on me to recognize where the rest of my team is so I can predict that flip.
Blue I mean I play all 3 it just makes the game way more fun. The titan melee is a bit obnoxious but it’s because they don’t have very good neutral game so they punch everything. Warlock has the best grenades and pretty decent supers. Hunters…hell what can’t I say about hunters. I just like them for the aesthetics and how they look.
@@jonathandixon7518 they're the most played class as they're the most aesthetically appealing also people who come from other FPS games can get used to Hunter much faster than any other class Although I main hunter I still find Titan easier to play I mean having the potential to kill the whole enemy team off 1 melee is insane.
I play on console, and I've been playing since D1. The thing I do that drives me nuts, is when I stomp on that L3 accidently while I'm in a gun fight and , as you know, the gun goes in sprint mode, and my challenger gets an easy kill. Somethimes wished I could disable sprint.....lol. Good tips TV!
The problem with pacing your shots is the fact that if the other guy is using jade rabbit for example, you’re dead. If the other guy gets the first shot on you, there’s no time to pace shots back at him because half your health bar is already gone. Also, flinch. Flinching can affect you greatly and leads to the most frustration in this game. There’s way too much flinch and if you try to focus and get back on target you’re either ambushed by a shotgun or you’re killed by the guy who flinched you. Certain weapons in this game simply take the skill out of gunfights. If you’re trying to kill someone with bygones and he just double jumps and shotgun melees you or slides and Erentils you you’re gonna be pissed. Titans with their overshields and OEM with mountaintops and recluses and hunters sliding and jumping with shotguns and erentils and warlocks walking around with arc rift orbs that float around and damage you.. Destiny 2 is nothing more than an arcade shooter. It shouldn’t have a competitive mode but since it does I think certain weapons should be banned from it. Take your mountaintops and erentils to regular crucible. It doesn’t belong in comp. It’s almost to the point where I want one eyed mask on my titan just to be able to compete. Or mountaintop so I can spam people like they do everyone else. Just release rage in this game because it’s filled with gimmicky bullshit weapons that take the comp out of comp.
Very good points. One thing I would have added is this: it takes *time* to learn much of this. I know this very well, having played 15 years of Dota. xD
I hate momentum control, but I did it for Randys and Mountaintop (and my Jade and VW catalysts). However, with that said, the lack of radar and the ability to die in one hit did make me appreciate paying attention to sounds and the kill feed more often. Just need to learn to bring that over into regular crucible and not fall into the above shown traps again.
Tunnel vision is 100% my worst issue. I even say to myself that I need to reposition because I think someone is flanking me but I'll ignore it and get flanked. Every. Time.
If you’ve followed tv from early D1 to now, a lot of this shouldn’t be new to the community. These top five along with vertical movement and playing smarter instead of harder to win gunfights have sort of been the foundation of what he’s offered as tips and stuff to think about in your gameplay. I’m not perfect in my gameplay, I’m still using and thinking about these things in my gameplay right in the moment when I need it and it’s gotten me to legend this season in comp. There’s always something to work on, whether it be over committing, listening for audio queues, rushing shots, there’s always something to work on. I find these better and easier to work on and use in 3v3’s when everything isn’t so hectic which is why I’m not the greatest in 6v6’s because so much is happening at one time and being able to process everything can be hard at some points. Either way, these aren’t exactly new, but a refresher every now and then is really good and can be a good reminder to veteran players, and new tips to think about to newer players.
#1 - framerate (trust me on this, anything below 100hz is very noticable, and 144Hz+ give a massive advantage) #2 - input lag #3 - ghosting #5 - make sure you have mouse accel. off or it will fuck with your muscle memory #6 - have good surround sound headphones with good sound separation and reproduction. Now you're ready to actually play the game, follow the advice in this video. Don't try to be competitive otherwise. People may say it's not about the equipment, it's about the player. These are idealists. I know because I have personal experience. I spent 5 whole seasons before I switched up my gaming rig to something much better. Before I was running the game at 60 (ish) frames and had a lot of ghosting and input lag. No headphones either, and I was using mouse accel. Granted, this was my first FPS so forgive my ignorance (especially about mouse accell). But my KD jumped all the way from 1.6-1.8 to fucking 2.5. Equipment matters.
Me: goes to watch new video about why I'm dying TV: shows clip of ME dying to HIS throwing knife around a corner...twice Me: WELP THAT CLEARS IT RIGHT UP, THANKS
i think the spraying issues is why people dont like autorifles in pvp much. ive been rockin Monte Carlo and you definitely have to stop firing and reset your aim sometimes, but ive been mowing dudes down left and right. you also have to anticipate people running away from your grenades, use them to block passages and watch them run the other way in to your bullets. make the enemy do what you want them to do.
this is a very good video, but i think it's important to state that just saying "git gud" doesn't negate concerns regarding balance, and sometimes you die for reasons beyond your control (every death is technically avoidable, but you don't always have the necessary information at your disposal to avoid a death). i think i suffer from tunnel vision, though. i over-extend myself trying to get kills, and often find myself on the wrong side of the map during spawn flips, getting baited into one-shot deaths, or getting team shot. i can't count how many times i've scrambled around in the middle of the enemy team only to eventually be caught and killed.
Tunnel vision is the reason i use knucklehead radar at legend. Honestly just to keep up with people who are better than me. I just tried to be hyper aware and communicate as much as possible.
IB light lvls changing my damage has been my #1 this week. The inconsistency of some guardians being at my lvl and some being 20+light higher gives me unnecessary deaths. I refuse to check the roster pregame in a 6v6 though.
My biggest problem, relying on people to watch my back when I rush.... How many times I predict a rush to a point, get there only to find I am the only one there against the whole nme team....
I can give you two reasons why I am bad at Crucible. Reasons- 1) I run Hard Light and try to get ricochet kills with it. 2) I play Warlock. I do exceedingly well on Titan and more so on Hunter, to the point where I get sad cause Warlock has been reduced to a shell of its former self.
Reason #1: I proceed to use my HC when they use a voop. Reason #2: I proceed to use my HC when they use MT or another nade launcher. Reason #3: ??? What just happened??? Reason #4: I know a Titan is going to shoulder charge, I dodge or jump. Titan auto-locks at a 90 or 180 angle, stills hits me while probably not even being able to see me on their screen while doing so. Reason #5: Coming around a corner to 3-5 people holding hands with pulses or scouts. Reason #6: Only dude on team still alive and not realizing it. So spawn flipped and people are spawning behind me. Reason #7: A little way into the match, I realize half my team wants to hold hands in spawn with scout rifles. But I'm not going to do that, so the whole match is usually a 1v3 at best 1v5 or so most of the time.
For me, I'd add "pushing rope": trying to make a thing work that just won't. I heavily favor mid-range play even at long or CQC range, and pay the price accordingly.
Hey TV, I know you said you read all your comments, so I'm hoping this makes its way across your screen at some point. I just wanted to get your thoughts on the the changes that Luna and Not Forgotten have undergone and where you think that leaves them with the current sandbox with the recent range nerfs and recoil adjustments. Do you think it would be okay to reverse the changes previously made to them, maybe tweaking Mag Howl a little bit but moving the handcannons back to a 180, or do you think they should stay where they're at? Many of my friends feel that, now that there will be no more new "pinnacle" weapons, the ones we currently have should be brought back in line with how they were, but I think that might be missing the point of the changes they (Bungie) made. Anyways, just food for thought.
If I could add number 6 use your vertical space (some True Vanguard guy taught me that in D1). Enemies lose sight of you easily and you get advantage. On the flipside look at your radar once in a while. 😉
I'm keeping this somewhere so I can watch it in private when I need a pick me up to get my mentality back. And keep in mind this isn't just stuff that applies to Destiny. Most if not all of these can apply to ANY pvp game. Yes. Even chess. Which sounds weird but trust me it does.
Everyone is so quick to list the things killing them. Gotta start with yourself and your bad habits. Complaining about what the other guy is using will only perpetuate your failures.

TV these thumbnails are 🔥my man
Another big part of tunnel vision is player awareness.
#36 made me laugh out loud!! Thanks for the chuckle!
First thought when reading title was:
1. Recluse
2. Erentil
3. Mountaintop
4. Mindbenders ambition
5. Bottom tree striker
I'm blushing at how many times I've died to number 5 with an SMG. All very helpful tips. I also really indentified with your Randy's vid and I secured my kills in Momentum. Lol
First, can you make a throwing knife guide? I'd like to use them more than just a last ditch effort.
Top 5 reasons I'm dying
1. Unbroken stacks teamshooting in control while I'm experimenting with a bow and Thorn.
2. Lag.
3. Supers
4. Heavy
5. Shoulder charge
H.M.: Playing the object
A few tips I use:
Throw the knife a bit higher (Not much, if you aim too high you will miss) than head-level. Sounds kinda obvious, but it is the difference between getting a headshot or a bodyshot.
Practice, practice, practice. I like to use bottom gunslinger in PvE, clean an entire lost sector with only throwing knife headshots. That helps you with knowingwhere the knife will land.
Subscribed after I saw the minor threat video....good stuff
I'm glad you stuck around phillip
Easy to hear audio cues when there’s only one other player lol.
Also he referenced not listening to audio cues with a story about tricking someone with audio cues.
1. Thunder coil
2. Handheld supernova
3. Pulses and scouts teamshooting
4. Solo supers
5. Mountaintop
6. Recluse
7. Machine guns
1. One eyed mask
2. Erentil from the back of the map
3. Me being stupid.
But mainly the first two
I feel this
Tunnel vision man.
1 reason for every other person in their full stacked team.
Reasons for dying:
1) When everyone wants to use their super on you (seriously, 6 solo blade barrage in a game is not fun)
2) Being placed IN the enemy spawn (I don't know if it's iron banner but this week it's already happened 5 times)
3) Not using a special weapon
1. One Eyed Mask
2. Titans one shot melee
3. Recluse
4. One shot bodied by izinagi
5. Arc web
The reason I’m dying is because I’m running around with a breach GL for mountaintop even though I’m just gonna use it for pve.
Anyways... thx 4 the good advice TV, I ran into you on Halloween morning when I was still warming up and man are you quick. Keep up the good work
Great video. Once I started wearing my headset while playing survival or rumble it changed everything.
Still listen to this at least once every 2 weeks.
Top 5:
1) Titans in general
2)
3)
4)
5)
Jack Monaghan play titan? They’re actually pretty fun
I get killed by hunters way often and they're still the most played class on console
@@jonathandixon7518 they're the most played class as they're the most aesthetically appealing also people who come from other FPS games can get used to Hunter much faster than any other class
Although I main hunter I still find Titan easier to play I mean having the potential to kill the whole enemy team off 1 melee is insane.
@@Ro-Ghost Blame the introduction of the cancer artifact in pvp. It's perks should never be active in crucible
Awesome video man! Super helpful and relatable 😃
I definitely over commit to kills. I need to learn when to just let it go and survive thus not giving the enemy more points
He's not lying he punished me for pushing with trinity ghoul this week.
TV I’m not sure if you know but if you double tap crouch then press jump you Icarus dash on the ground
Very good points. One thing I would have added is this: it takes *time* to learn much of this. I know this very well, having played 15 years of Dota. xD
Love that MTashed shade in the description
Answer: You’re not using Mountaintop, Recluse, and Wardcliff, you’re good now.
1. Handheld supernova
2. Ertenil the rapid frame sniper
3. Last word the gunfight decider
4. Tick rate
5. OEM Titan with his master of scrubs
#1 - framerate (trust me on this, anything below 100hz is very noticable, and 144Hz+ give a massive advantage)
#2 - input lag
#3 - ghosting
#5 - make sure you have mouse accel. off or it will fuck with your muscle memory
#6 - have good surround sound headphones with good sound separation and reproduction.
Me: goes to watch new video about why I'm dying
TV: shows clip of ME dying to HIS throwing knife around a corner...twice
Me: WELP THAT CLEARS IT RIGHT UP, THANKS
i think the spraying issues is why people dont like autorifles in pvp much. ive been rockin Monte Carlo and you definitely have to stop firing and reset your aim sometimes, but ive been mowing dudes down left and right. you also have to anticipate people running away from your grenades, use them to block passages and watch them run the other way in to your bullets. make the enemy do what you want them to do.
True vanguard what roll do you have on your austringer?
I always pay attention to audio in destiny. Podcasts, youtube videos, music... the list is endless
Good Video. I really hope that my desire to play pvp comes back at some point.
I love the way you use warlock top tree 🎮🔥
this is a very good video, but i think it's important to state that just saying "git gud" doesn't negate concerns regarding balance, and sometimes you die for reasons beyond your control (every death is technically avoidable, but you don't always have the necessary information at your disposal to avoid a death).
i think i suffer from tunnel vision, though. i over-extend myself trying to get kills, and often find myself on the wrong side of the map during spawn flips, getting baited into one-shot deaths, or getting team shot. i can't count how many times i've scrambled around in the middle of the enemy team only to eventually be caught and killed.
Tunnel vision is the reason i use knucklehead radar at legend.
Honestly just to keep up with people who are better than me. I just tried to be hyper aware and communicate as much as possible.
The only reason I'm dying in crucible is because I'm not utilizing cover, I'm not running when it's necessary, and I'm not abusing META loadouts.
IB light lvls changing my damage has been my #1 this week.
The inconsistency of some guardians being at my lvl and some being 20+light higher gives me unnecessary deaths.
I refuse to check the roster pregame in a 6v6 though.
Thx for the Tips TV! You gave us all ya secrets lol! I appreciate it, it was sooo true!
Yo for real reason #36 killed off my titan and warlock.
Only my Hunter survived. Hid behind the cape.
Great vid TV! How do you feel about crouching in between your shots with a hand cannon or any semi-auto weapon? I’d love to chat about this a lil bit
My biggest problem, relying on people to watch my back when I rush.... How many times I predict a rush to a point, get there only to find I am the only one there against the whole nme team....
Great video from one of the greatest our here ...luv u man T-God.
What a great video, thanks TV
I can give you two reasons why I am bad at Crucible.
Reasons-
1) I run Hard Light and try to get ricochet kills with it.
2) I play Warlock.
I do exceedingly well on Titan and more so on Hunter, to the point where I get sad cause Warlock has been reduced to a shell of its former self.
I over commit to kills alot, I think its a 1v1 and I got him weak, and I slide around the corner to get him, and he has two teammates with him
Reason #1: I proceed to use my HC when they use a voop.
That's literally me lmao
Kinda weird how, once you get all this down, you don’t even think about it, it just becomes like second nature.
1. 6 stacks of nf and wardcliff
Weak excuse
James Jordan Completely fine reason since the matchmaking can queue people with 50,000 Comp Wins vs someone with 0.
Just use erentel it wins vs warcliff at a range cause it's hitscan and warcliff isnt
James cordon not its not because if 6 unbrokens are team shortting with nf ur dead before u can say I’m salty
@@sk-cg9ne 6 stack unbrokens don't use nf they use bygones erentel
They are not the best right now but I think they are fine. I think the handcannon change should be reverted because it's the highest skill weapons.
