Are you as involved as you once were? More so?
Absolutely not. I've dropped off _Hard_ Since after Final Shape. Now I only get on to play with friends and help those in Raids And dont even get me started on pvp. Outside of dicking around in PMs with, Again, Friends, I have not touched PvP. Except 8v8. I liked that.
this is what happens when a bunch of mentally ill people overwhelm the actual talent and make them leave because they cant deal with the woke freaks anymore
@@QuietDarkness27 I literally play it casually haha, I play the campaigns and seasonal content, play the events, play some crucible a few times a week for an hour or two, play the playlist activities like Onslaught a couple times a week. Is there something wrong with playing like this? lol
Worst thing for a game isn’t super negative comments, shows people still care enough the game to want it to improve. Apathy is what truly means the game is dead. I logged on for Iron Banner cuz I like the armor set, did my daily challenge matches and then got off. Still haven’t tried Tomb of Elders at all
The problem with the idea of "just take it less seriously" and/or "just take a break when you're not feeling up to it" is that the game still requires money to continue playing. New expansions, new seasons, these things require continued investment. If they were entirely free and PERMANENT, players could come in and out as they pleased, and never have to worry about FOMO manipulating them to feel forced to play when they aren't up to it. As it stands (doubtful that this will change with Frontiers), new big content will require more money to get in the door, and if the current content isn't good enough for people to feel good about the last couple years worth of purchases, slowly but surely, more and more people will say no, the player count will continue to drop. Especially when you factor in the increasing amount of bugs that aren't just nagging little graphical quirks, but potentially YEARS worth of "this bug caused the gear you tried to farm nearly impossible to get"...what Paul Tassi was talking about, losing the trust of the players...if players can't trust Bungie to make a fun, rewarding product (rewarding in loot, rewarding in story, rewarding in competition, rewarding at all), then why bother play OR pay. Nothing gets better when the community is largely apathetic.
@@R377R0 Destiny players both old and new, ones that have lapsed and vets grinding daily, all deserve to be treated better...in terms of quality and passion...and neither of those things have truly met the players' expectations.
Avid pvp guy who used to no life destiny, I finally hung up my hunters cloak and even the final shape couldn’t pull me back. Love your content TV and hope you’re having fun and finding success with the other games too.
I’ve moved on after giving a decade to the franchise. I’ll always cherish the memories, and I have no negative feelings towards Bungie or Destiny, but I’m almost surprised at how much I don’t care about the game after so many years of caring deeply. There is a small part of my brain that remains frustrated at the missteps and Destiny never reaching its full potential … but maybe that potential was imagined all along and the frustration is of my own making …
As soon as I stopped taking Destiny 2 seriously I enjoyed myself FAR more than I had in the past. By simply playing maybe a couple matches of iron banner, a quick dungeon run or the final encounter of a raid instead of grinding for long hours, I've enjoyed the game so much more. I feel like Destiny has such an addicting and time consuming gameplay loop that far too many people treat the game like it's their job and take changes and problems with the game far too seriously. Just take a break, play other games and play what you like instead of stressing over what you don't. Yes you may not get the 5/5 god roll or have the gilded title to flex with but you'll be far happier and have lots more time on your hands.
Your spot on with your take on what caused the player population to go down the toilet. PvP used to keep many players tied over during the doldrums between content drops. Bungie management have proven themselves completely incompetent time and time again.
I think you got it right TV. PvP was half of the game and one of the things that made D2 special, to bring pve guns into the crucible and see what was good/fun. To me Bungie is no longer a AAA-studio, they are just a broken dev team that put makeup on a corpse.
This has been my mentality since witch queen. I play the things I like in the game and don’t do the things I don’t like. If there is a gun that is a meta weapon but I am not gonna enjoy playing the activity, I’ll just use the next best thing.
The latest Destiny scandals, weightgate and tonicgate, have really drained the remaining incentive to play and grind this game. I didn't think they'd actually break the "looter" in a looter/shooter but they did. So now I just do 1 GM and close game. Get the IB armor and close game. A broken loot chase makes the additional bugs and glitches much more intolerable. Hence, the people will close the game and move on. Bungie can't blame anyone but themselves if the people don't return.
Just like you I will always love Destiny and I still play it regularly, it is still my main game. These days however I feel like I have less and less desire to play. Before, I would come home from work and couldn't wait to jump in and try out a new build/gun, sometimes I would even skip dinner for more playing time. These days I have to force myself to jump in sometimes because it just isn't as fun as it used to be. As a PvP main, overpowered hunters, crazy uptime of special ammo, ability spam, bad matchmaking, SBMM, and poor sandbox choices have really made the PvP experience annoying and simply not fun. Games are supposed to be fun. The season of the splicer and the 30th-anniversary sandbox was the best for PvP in my opinion. I'd love to go back to those days.
This is actually a pretty good way to get the most out of the game’s strengths - dip in for some good gunplay/ability shenanigans, but don’t get invested in the farms and grinds where the bugs live.
I just came back last September after putting in 7.1k hrs up to 2020 - and man I am absolutely stoked about the game again after taking a break for a few years. I honestly thought I was never coming back but yeah, it's looking like I'm back. Lol
Same! I do this every other year or so + a few small breaks every so often and it feels like and it makes my relationship with the game so much better. Taking a small one until after Christmas. :)
Yup I take multi week breaks every so often, longest break was 2ish years before beyond light and when I came back during lightfall I was in love all over again!! The final shape grind I hit super hard and now I’m coming back after a month break and I really enjoy when I play now albeit not as much investment/time wise
Same. I came back and am really enjoying it, but my clan imploded while I was gone and the lack of crafting combined with the tonics bug is really draining my enthusiasm.
your 100% correct, this is why I stopped playing. Stop bitching, stop playing and move on. With the number of issues this game is having in the last couple months, it should make it easy for people to move on.
Myself and almost my entire raid core have stopped playing - with the exception of literally two guys. I built a clan and a Discord around Destiny 2 and I love the group of players I've managed to build up (albeit a small one), but I still have all the bots and active pings in various channels for Destiny news, Bungie Tweets et cetera - so we all have a laugh over all the bugs and issues that seem never ending. But we've all basically stopped caring because we stopped playing. We stopped complaining. But I would argue that that reality is almost worse. We complained because we truly cared about the game and wanted to see change. Now, we just don't care and we've all moved onto other games - which has been great for all of us. Anyway - cheers to you for the Space Marine 2 content btw, as a huge Heresy/40k lover, you did great with all of it. Don't mind the Chaos ridden heretics bashing you in comments.
I finally quit completely with over 25k hours between D1 and D2 and let me tell you I've never felt better. I always thought that I'd never be done with destiny but the time finally came and life itself is so much better without the frustrations of that game!
Just imagine how many great games you could have played over these 25K hours. I realized that one point, and Destiny is just a filler content here and there. I missed sooo many great games because I was so into Destiny. I am fixing that now. 2025 is PACKED with awesome games not named Destiny. I will buy the DLCs, play them like a true little campaigns, and move back to other games that call my name. No more 100 percent Destiny. It's foolish and complete waste of time at this point.
Most of us have moved on from Destiny. I stopped at Forsaken but played D1 all the way from the alpha. Some of my best memories without a doubt. Issue is, bungie has always been sketchy even through D1, but in recent times it's apparent why they've fallen so far.
sbmm in the casual playlist singularly killed my desire to spend evenings in pvp. as a whole I've freed myself from the need to get every seal and godroll and i now play the game maybe 5 hours a week instead of 25
I like it still. I agree that pvp development slowing down was a bad move. The thing that feels bad to me this year is that The Final Shape genuinely felt like a new game in a way that D2 hasn’t felt since Forsaken… and then these Episodes are just back to same-old, same-old… It seems like they can’t deliver the volume of content needed to keep the game going and feeling fresh. And you’re totally right that in the downtime between compelling releases pvp is where players go.
@@Vengefulserpent183 For sure. Like Vanguard, I'm a major fan of the game. I have never been the biggest pvp player, but when I do pvp it was almost always either with friends, or when I ran out of pve goals to chase. For me, that is unchanged and I still like it. But the reason I can do that is because other people play a lot of pvp, so there are always matches for me.
i care very deeply about this game and invest a lot into it, i’ve just come to terms that doing that does nothing. i wish i could detach and care less, because i know it won’t be what we want
I watch a video from you every once in a while, that is the extent of my Destiny interaction. I watched the final shape story on TH-cam, and then checked out. I am having a blast buying and playing all the PS3 and PS4 games I missed while Destiny was the only thing I played. I don’t hate Destiny, I have a ton of fond memories.
I check in for episodes and the odd pvp content when theres a weapon I want but tbh I just find myself checking out of video games in general these days. Started reading the dune series, I forgot how enjoyable reading was lol. Appreciate the video though, also the suppression from CO in that background footage was crazy. Wish you the best!
Opening up about how mean another community was and still having a blast playing and making content on that game is pretty based. Regardless of how anyone feels about destiny or its content creators that have moved to variety content, you can't deny TV's positive attitude will always make him a worthwhile watch.
content creators are overdoing it with complaining.. making like 3-5 videos complaining about the same issues in just a couple of days.. and saying basically the same.. I guess it draws attention and views. Complaining and critique is fair of course, I hate this game all the time lol but people don't have to milk it like a cow
Spot on TV. I'm a Crucible player, but played all the PVE content for guns to use in PVP. Used to be hardcore, but I just don't care anymore. I held out for 5 years hoping things would get better, but I can't anymore, the Destiny I once knew is not coming back. I log on occasionally now...
I have played since day one D1. I have had to take several breaks and hiatus because the game got stale or wasn’t worth my time. I love this game above all others. But changing my mindset to play the game like a casual has opened be game back up to me. I miss being the guy who knew every little thing and had the best most optimized loadout. But that’s not feasible for me anymore with the cadence of gameplay and real life.
4000 hours is enough. Half a year of my life dedicated to one game. I’ll always have the fondest of memories, but playing now is like visiting an old ball field you played on as a kid - nostalgia hits, you may take a few swings, maybe even run the bases, but you’ll never be under the lights again. It was fun while it lasted.
I don’t see myself ever playing Destiny 2 again. It was good 10 years. I’ll continue follow it casually to out of curiosity, but there is nothing they can do to make me want to play again. Also my massive backlog of single player games is thanking me!
I feel you TV. I care deeply, very deeply, for the Destiny we don't have anymore. Now it's just something to do, on an extremely rare occasion. I miss out on so much, missions, weapons, leveling. But I don't feel loss anymore, because I don't care anymore. I'm freed from FOMO. I love Destiny. I really do. And I always will. But I haven't liked it since Forsaken and vanilla D2. And D1 I absolutely love and still do. The story I think was best back then. So much of what people love now are entirely rooted in D1. 🥰
How do I feel about Destiny? Probably the same thing a lot of folks feel, a bit apathetic. Like you I’ll always be a fan and hop on to play from time to time, but my interests have been drawn elsewhere. As of now I haven’t really touched the game for about 6 months. Just last week I loaded it up, sat in orbit, and quit after 10 minutes chilling there. Game will always have a special place in my heart, and the real life friends I’ve made in that game have been great. I just don’t really care anymore though, I’ve been enjoying Space Marine aswell, Deep Rock Galactic, cod, and some single player story games. Btw I’ve very much enjoyed seeing you branch out and make videos on new games, I think I’ve seen every single of your SM2 videos, and I was happy to see one of my favorite creators cover a new game I enjoyed too. I’d like to see you try out and make some Deep Rock Galactic videos if you haven’t yet. I love that game. Rock and Stone.
To each their own. Love the input and your point of view. Getting out as a content creator is smart as Destiny 2 has been under very bad leadership and fallen to a point where players don’t trust it.
2 things resolved this issue for me: 1. I play a few shooters, not just D2. Division 2, Warframe, Helldivers 2, etc. I am less disappointed by the flaws of each game as I have other options. I’m not banging my head against the same wall every time I game. 2. Ignore and avoid the “communities” of all the games you play. There are very few truly positive things being discussed in these communities.
This is also true. There are still plenty of people playing Destiny 2. It’s just it seems like it’s a downward trend which does kinda spook people. Another thing to consider, when hasn’t there been people screaming from the heavens “DEAD GAME” about Destiny.
@vampirelordx1 I know, but we just had the biggest jumping off point in history, The Final Shape, and there are still a half million players going strong.
I see all the complaints and understand them, but I still LOVE Destiny 2 and even downloaded Destiny 1 to get an even better understanding of what people fell in love with “ back in the day”. I’ve been playing for almost 2 years now and it’s really the only game that holds my interest. I just hope they keep adding to it in a positive way and try to keep it fresh for both PVE and PvP. There really is no other game quite like it
I will quote you at 5:00 of your video - "And to make things worse, Trials of Osiris has always been the activity that keeps people coming back." I say this is a bold statement and can be considered a lie. Trials of Osiris does NOT carry the player base, and never has. It has seen record low numbers almost every week for many months (outside of a few outliers of 200K players on certain weeks). C'mon Vanguard, at least stay honest. Trials only carried in D1, in D2 it has been nothing but a challenge for everyone, bungie included.
Personally I’ve been a long time Destiny player and I hopped on Space Marine 2 as well, I was a huge fan of your content so ignore the salty heretics Brother
I think I’m mostly wrapped up for this current season. I’ve gotten all the Act 1/2 weapons I want. I’ll definitely be working on the solo flawless for the dungeon but when I’m not feeling up to that I’ll probably be playing BG3 or Zelda
Take the game for what it is instead of what it could be is the best approach. I feel my passion to log on daily has drifted away as well long ago. Final Shape campaign was a great campaign but also a great point to say " Thanks for the Journey, I'll be going for now." Granted I do still log on after a 4 month hiatus myself but Apathy is growing and as a wise woman once said: " Apathy is Death." Bungie fumbled not just by making PvP such a low priority but also by doing the same thing with Gambit. Both of these modes to me felt like the truest form of endgame in Destiny. Competitive enviroments. You can sink in hundreds of hours doing Gambit and optimizing your builds for ad clear , boss damage and the likes but the section needed more gamemodes and content. It needed its own Iron Banner and its own Trials iterations. It is what it is. I'm not a fan of the way they make so much temporary content with seasons and how barely anything of that actually stays in the game, so a lot gets worked on and maybe 1% stays. Feels like a waste of resources but oh well. Don't play if you don't like it. That's the best feedback you can give. Have fun elsewhere and hope it'll get better or find new passion games. Looking forward to Path of Exile 2!
The worst thing I can say about D2 is that after 10 years of playing religiously, I FINALLY don’t really care anymore. It isn’t even that bad, I just feel like my enjoyment of the Destiny loop is kind of ending. I haven’t even tried the new season which has never happened before. The game has had a great run but maybe it’s just time for other games to enjoy the spotlight.
Stopped "caring deeply " about destiny since D2 day 1. But you're right. Destiny is what it is and we who like it will always feel drawn to it. I won't stop hating on destiny. I'll just stop hating myself for coming back every time.
About how I’ve felt for a long time. I took my break near the Crota and oryx raids, always felt that destiny is great for what it is and a lot of people (including bungie) want it to be something it’s not.
I love D2 and will be playing till the servers go down. Now I quit playing for almost 2 years and returned a year ago, so I have different perspective than I did before. I'm a different player, when something gets screwed up I just chalk it up to it being Bungie. It is what it is
I stopped playing destiny at the start of act 1 or echoes but cam back recently and all I do is play 2-5 games of pvp, no idea what the meta is, just using the guns I want. Didn't buy the season passes for the first time ever. And honestly I've enjoyed the game and couldn't care aboutnthe changes now when they happen because it's inconsequential to my casual experience
To me, the best of my life happened during Season of the Witch, and Season of the wish. My commitment to Crota's End armor, weapons, and the Necrochasm was his calling that i *MUST* do so. And season of the wish, i farmed ascendant alloys and prisms in that seasonal activities all the time. But now after TFS campaign, im just collecting weapons thanks to Destiny Fun Police. But imma say what ive been saying since its release in D1. *BRING IN SRL IN D2!!! YOU GUYS DID THAT RISING, SO HOW ABOUT D2 , MUTHADUCKA BUNGIE!!!*
I also think a lot of us are just getting older now. Destiny isn't really marketed toward new people very well so the majority of players have probably played it for years and have gotten older. I've been playing since 2014, and I'm 25 now... I have a Job and lifestyle. I would love to sit and do raids and dungeons and grind like i used to, but I simply just don't have the time anymore. Sad but real. But I'll always be there, to this day the Story and Game of DESTINY is my favorite of all time.
I’m sick of that guy from Forbes mag that always getting the community together just to complain then go back and play again. I love this game and will play it for a long time even with all the complaints.
I do deeply care about the Destiny franchise. It's never stopped me from putting it down to play other games or simply to take a break. In a wierd way, it's like anything else you indulge in. Games, books, shows, food... if you're too close for too long or it's the only thing you focus on, you're going to find ways to be unhappy it. Nothing is perfect. Once in a while, something comes along that gets as close as you can imagine, but that is fleeting. In the case of Bungie and the Destiny franchise, they've been through the ups and downs as much as anything has that's been around for that amount of time. There is no developer/product that survives so long without criticism and scrutiny. They will make mistakes and they will rebound if they're passionate about it. I am sorely disappointed that pvp hasn't evolved, but I have been at a minimum satisfied with pve content overall since Forsaken. Sure, there have been some misses, but there have also been some monster hits. It's like a long running television series (I am old, btw), no matter how much I like it, there are story arcs or episodes that I'm not a fan of. As an illustrator, I also understand why pvp will not be a focus for Bungie when it comes to Destiny and why they've moved forward to develop Marathon. It's no different than being a content creator or a restaurant owner. You have to make the product that people will continue to engage with and spend money on. Bungie can't develop pvp when they have no revenue source to justify the amount of work it would require to push it to the forefront. The Destiny community simply won't stand for a microtransaction system and the truth is, that's how other pvp focused modes/games make their money. PVP battlepasses, skins, etc. A pvp mode/game needs to be wholely developed as such, i.e. Marathon. @TrueVanguard I've always loved your input and I'm glad you've landed in a place of peace with this. Keep up the good work.
Ignoring profit motivations, as a player I'd wish that Bungie would just stop trying to maximise engagement throughout the entire year and just provide 2 "mini expansion" content with no seasons. yes they have said they are adding "shadow-keep sized expansions" but they can just stop the seasons (since 60% of the time they suck anyway) and just provide quarterly patches since they clearly do not have the resources or ideas to keep up with the episodic model
Just be like the bradster. Have fun. And don’t care about metas or anything and just play to play. Go watch his first raid with aztecross. Absolute cinema.
Took time off to enjoy dragons dogma, remnant, b3, alan wake, hell even went back to Titanfall. Only pop on D2 to see whose still on and most of the time ill play a couple matches in crucible or log in and log off. Cant miss much from the game if u no longer miss the game 😅
Yup. Apathy. I just log in to get my PvP fix when I’ve got some downtime. It’s getting so bad I legit would not be surprised to wake up one of these mornings to see the studio shutting down. They’ve just simply lost the player base and it’s crazy to me that they are still just watching it die with these small, nothing updates.
I still play D2, albeit I'm not raiding or doing dungeons as much because there are hardly enough players doing them in my timezone but I digress. I still enjoy PvP and PvE and have been playing gambit too, but I will admit that it's not something that is sustainable for a while. I've also explored other games that were more affordable and have been having a blast. I still have belief in D2, but just not a lot.
I do not care deeply about Destiny. I haven’t for some time now. And while some of that definitely lands at Bungie’s feet, old game is old. All things end, returns diminish. Makes me a bit sad but that’s how it goes. Now I have more time/energy for pursuits outside of games. The grass is good. Touch some.
Took a break, came for iron banner and got mercied 4 games in a row. lol There are just no casual players left. The only ones who are left are so good at the game that they know how to snowball an advantage to a win. Without casual players willing to get grinded into paste, the population will continue to bleed whomever is least skilled population bracket remaining until you get to where we are today. It's the top 25% of the skill delta playing against themselves.
I have not played Iron Banner or more than a match or two in crucible for about 2-3 years. But I was indeed a player who only jumped into Iron Banner for the Stasis Side arm. I reset rank twice before I got an Air Trigger/Chil Clip roll. HOWEVER I have been have a great time (minus the bad connections) in the Crucible. I can't see myself playing crucible everyday after its gone, but if that freshness was able to improve the tempo of release Ide play more.
I think the overall take of the video is the only way to still enjoy Destiny and not throw your hands up in frustration. taking breaks to play other games is super refreshing, but expecting the game to re-invent itself at this point is like trying to swim up a waterfall. I really like the game, but I will not let it consume like it did in the past.
Tbh, you're right man. I stopped playing, and stopped complaining, after beating TFS' campaign. It was fine - on it's own, it would have just been another expansion, admittedly with some decent loot. But with everything that happened during the year of Lightfall, and the immediate collapse of expectations with Episode: Echoes, I ran out of things I cared enough to complain about. The entire game felt the same to me - middle of the road at its peaks, and disappointingly mundane at its lows. I'm pretty much over Destiny now, and have no desire to return. I think that more people should be done with it. Hopefully someday, a better game can come in and replace it.
I still enjoy the game but I’ve learn to take a day off . Watch a movie or tv show think the only time I complain now is when I die to something dumb . Just enjoy the game at your own pace people it will always be there the next day .
The sooner people realize that there are zero developers who ACTUALLY listen to criticism and complaints from CCs and players, the better. Our complaints fall on deaf ears, ALWAYS!
I’ve mostly switched to PVE to grind out my titles and that’s what I’ll probably keep doing in the foreseeable future. PvP has been dead to me for months.
I want to care about it because of all of the time I put into it !! I was a PVP player... I did all my pve to get my pvp builds ready for trials.... but it seems that everything that I loved about the game they kept taking away.... like for me the best days of Destiny are the days when you HAD to grind raids or trials to hit makes level. when skill gap was a thing and the abilities aided the guns not the other way around... for me the perfect Destiny looks like this>>>>>> 1) weapon armor crafting is gone... The chase was part of the joy of the game farming nightfalls for god rolls trying get my perfect palindrome or TYS ( as well as armor to get my best builds) 2) SKILL GAP !! look I get it not everyone is the best at PVP but like dont nerf snipers or movement or in air accuracy because some people cant do those things embrace the fact that some players are better than others and foster it with a place for custom lobbies as well as better match making .... 3) PVE Challenge the nightfall was hard with the wipe and go back to orbit thing.. again stop nerfing it so the lower tier players can do the activity they are meant to be hard so that means get good aka practice... and foster the Sherpa community 4) weapon leveling and armor leveling those made the grind worth it I did more public events because I got this sick gun that I need xp for... really it comes down to the fact (for me) they kept trying to make the game easy and less grindy but they really just dumbed it down and made it monotonous. Destiny rise of iron was honestly such a high point and some of the best nights with the boys and even just randoms who became friends my best man started out as an LFG trials teammate... Destiny 2 was like a breakup as much as I wanted it to work it just changed so much it wasnt the same game and somethings sure they are better but other things well here we are ...
Then it's time for Bungie to stop intentionally underdeveloping content, and to stop pushing that self-destructive mantra on to other developers in public GDC's. We as consumers of a product we pay for, have the right to voice concerns when a product is bad. Destiny 2 is not a free game. Every DLC cost money. Every annual DLC is typically $100 for the people who are complaining because we buy the full year package with all the seasons, just to get a underdeveloped buggy season where half the community can't even progress the season because they get locked out of making tonics. Or how about all the bugs where things like tonics are meant to target a specific drop but they actually don't? No. It's time you stop defending Bungie. It's time you hold accountability as a content creator, and hold Bungie accountable too. If you were truly happy with the game with nothing to complain about, then you wouldn't have taken a many, many months break from the game. You didn't play through alot of the mess and bugs we did. You come back to Destiny finally and the videos were basically "did I miss anything good?" and "stop complaining".
I think criticizing the game for it’s flaws is totally acceptable. The game in itself is amazing to play, but the new player experience needs a complete overhaul. There’s a lot of quality of life that can be implemented too. Showing in precisely what fragments/perks/mods gives would be a huge improvement. Why do I need to ho on a 3rd party website to understand how bait n switch is way better than frenzy? Adding the % each buffs gives you wouldn’t overload the description of the perks at all. I love this game and play it everyday but complaining all the time is just a waste of energyto me. I do the activities I like and that’s it.
Agreed. On all points. And agreed, on the video title. Finally deleted destiny to stop looking back. Loved the game. Won’t play until a new installment, destiny 3 I suppose. Hopefully concord or whatever that new game they’re making is called is good. Might give that a shot.
I played final shape and haven't touched the game since it's been un-installed. i don't care anymore my care for the game started to dwindle a month or so before lightfall. bungie has just absorbed the fun and excitement, i used to have in d1 coming home from highschool to get on to play. it especially didn't help with the lack of care for the pvp cause I'm mainly a pvp player and there wasn't anything for me there for me anymore.
people say apathy, but they don’t actually know what it means. if you are still interacting with it, it in’t apathy. people just want to use difficult words to look cool.😂 good video, i think people just needs to stop complaining and just enjoy the game for what it is. especially when bungie is now stirring the ship to a new direction we should all just stfu and wait for it.
I played from day one but now I play other games that take my interest. I have had long breaks when I was playing Elden Ring, Armoured Core 6 and now Space Marine 2. I played D2 the other night which was the first time in months. It’s still pretty good and there is a lot to do but for me there is not much drive to do any of it. So, it seems I am pretty done with it. I am older now and life is different than it was 10 years ago. D2 has been an important part of my life but I have moved on and I am ok with that. Anyway, TV, I have enjoyed your content for many years now. I will continue as you play other games-like watching all of your SM2 videos. You have been a good ambassador for the D2 community.
Finished final shape and only play pvp occasionally but in terms of caring no destiny is done for me, my main reason is loot isn’t important anymore once you have a weapon that supports each element thats all you meed oh well
I quit playing in july and havent looked back. I dont miss it because i know how it is now. I do miss the old days when pages of clan mates would be on. Sadly, those days have passed 😢
Honestly this laat year of pvp has burnt me out entirely. The games flow has slowed down immensely to team shooting and wall hugging, its miserable. Im now doing more low man raids than playing pvp thats how bad it is 💀
For me peak Destiny was back in 2018 with Last wish raid, Forge madness and Spare/Mindbender's meta, although I hated it. But that was fun overall. Bungie/Activision split was the beginning of the end. Much less content, controversial pvp balance at times, awful pve game modes. The game started collapsing on itself. It's been fun, now it's time to move on.
I bought black ops 6 and I haven't gone back to destiny 2 since. Although I still think d2 is a better shooter, the lack of player pool, compounded by sbmm and no loot to chase I don't see the reason to play the game much anymore. I'll still always hope into crucible now and again but they never make new pvp content and imo they have ruined the crucible.

Where are you at right now with Destiny 2? Are you as involved as you once were? More so?
Absolutely not. I've dropped off _Hard_ Since after Final Shape.
Now I only get on to play with friends and help those in Raids
And dont even get me started on pvp. Outside of dicking around in PMs with, Again, Friends, I have not touched PvP. Except 8v8. I liked that.
Destiny’s on a slippery slope when negative passion turns to apathy
this is what happens when a bunch of mentally ill people overwhelm the actual talent and make them leave because they cant deal with the woke freaks anymore
but it's funny how nobody hates d2 more than d2 players...
That’s because it’s to convoluted to get into casually. Yes, veterans can go casual, but no one is getting into Destiny casually.
@@QuietDarkness27 That is the current state of gaming ask. Most of the games worth playing require a Serious time investment
@@QuietDarkness27 I literally play it casually haha, I play the campaigns and seasonal content, play the events, play some crucible a few times a week for an hour or two, play the playlist activities like Onslaught a couple times a week. Is there something wrong with playing like this? lol
@@itshadoukenabsolutely not dude i have been very busy the last year and i also play like that these days
Wait you mean to only people that complain about a product are the people that have been customers of said product. Wow hilarious 🤡
Worst thing for a game isn’t super negative comments, shows people still care enough the game to want it to improve. Apathy is what truly means the game is dead. I logged on for Iron Banner cuz I like the armor set, did my daily challenge matches and then got off. Still haven’t tried Tomb of Elders at all
Same
The problem with the idea of "just take it less seriously" and/or "just take a break when you're not feeling up to it" is that the game still requires money to continue playing.
Players absolutely wanna get their moneys’ worth.
@@R377R0 Destiny players both old and new, ones that have lapsed and vets grinding daily, all deserve to be treated better...in terms of quality and passion...and neither of those things have truly met the players' expectations.
I, too, took a 3-month hiatus. That was about 18 months ago or so. Think I’ll just plan to stay there. 😂
Short answer is no. The apathy has hit hard and i'm finding myself logging in less and finding less reasons to come back.
Avid pvp guy who used to no life destiny, I finally hung up my hunters cloak and even the final shape couldn’t pull me back. Love your content TV and hope you’re having fun and finding success with the other games too.
Same, they literally push players away and only have kept many around through an addiction of sorts....
“Hung up my hunters cloak” goes hard
Absolutely. Moderation is key.
Lol
Same here Man
I took a season off and im back absolutely in love with the game despite some of the issues
Same! I do this every other year or so + a few small breaks every so often and it feels like and it makes my relationship with the game so much better.
Taking a small one until after Christmas. :)
@Xander--gd5lb it keeps the game fresh
To each their own.
except this is a live-service. people paid for long-term content. this is not the same as a one time purchase.
@ agreed. People just don’t get it.
Look at how the call of duty base goes.
Hell even I say move on that doesn't make it easy to.
Issue is, bungie has always been sketchy even through D1, but in recent times it's apparent why they've fallen so far.
sbmm in the casual playlist singularly killed my desire to spend evenings in pvp. as a whole I've freed myself from the need to get every seal and godroll and i now play the game maybe 5 hours a week instead of 25
I popped back in to play iron banner. Have had a fun time using my old guns as I last paid for Final Shape. Good time was had.
You will never get me to stop complaining about my paid DLC being removed from the game. Yet I still play this game lol
Awwww! The puppy! I know you did it for the comments and it worked 🤣
she's pretty awesome so i had to keep her in
I like it still.
I agree that pvp development slowing down was a bad move. The thing that feels bad to me this year is that The Final Shape genuinely felt like a new game in a way that D2 hasn’t felt since Forsaken… and then these Episodes are just back to same-old, same-old…
It seems like they can’t deliver the volume of content needed to keep the game going and feeling fresh. And you’re totally right that in the downtime between compelling releases pvp is where players go.
I agree with you fully on this the pvp development has slowed down a bit but I still play it
@@Vengefulserpent183 For sure.
@ahawkone8850 yeah it's fun and I am also having fun in gambit because of the young ahunkara buff
i care very deeply about this game and invest a lot into it, i’ve just come to terms that doing that does nothing. i wish i could detach and care less, because i know it won’t be what we want
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! I swear it's all I've seen lately no matter what the subject is.
The Life Preserver analogy is spot on TV!
Give us a Forge mode!
Took Bungie 1k days for 3 maps...
Give us Forge & we'll have 1k maps in 3 days... And I'll play another decade.
I’ll stop complaining when the game isn’t shit.
Hatred is a lot of emotion to spend on something you don’t like
If you think it’s shit, why play? So many good games to play.
Hope your not still playing the game if you are take a long break
@@yepter807You’re literally incorrect. In the internet age, it’s never been cheaper and easier. You didn’t think this through, you’re not bright.
@@yepter807 99% don't value their time as much as they should so this has no actual application to real life
content creators are overdoing it with complaining.. making like 3-5 videos complaining about the same issues in just a couple of days.. and saying basically the same.. I guess it draws attention and views. Complaining and critique is fair of course, I hate this game all the time lol but people don't have to milk it like a cow
My teenager summed it up best when I tried to get him to come back for the Final Shape: “Dad, Destiny is a lifestyle. I don’t have time for that.”
I love your videos!! I would love to see a video with all of your Sidearms and their Rolls!!!
To each their own. Love the input and your point of view. Getting out as a content creator is smart as Destiny 2 has been under very bad leadership and fallen to a point where players don’t trust it.
2 things resolved this issue for me:
I understand the message you were trying to convey, but 427,000 players is still a very strong number.
Not strong enough of a number to prevent more layoffs from happening
Not strong enough for matchmaking to work. Maybe it’s finally time to turn off SBMm. Nah.. f em.
@bannedmann4469 most of those are PvE players for sure haha. I play PvP 90% of the time so I'm well aware of how bad it is 😅
I see all the complaints and understand them, but I still LOVE Destiny 2 and even downloaded Destiny 1 to get an even better understanding of what people fell in love with “ back in the day”.
The titles of your videos are really good.
Final Shape campaign was a great campaign but also a great point to say " Thanks for the Journey, I'll be going for now." Granted I do still log on after a 4 month hiatus myself but Apathy is growing and as a wise woman once said: " Apathy is Death."
Bungie fumbled not just by making PvP such a low priority but also by doing the same thing with Gambit.
Papa Frank on the thumbnail earns an instant like n comment
About how I’ve felt for a long time. I took my break near the Crota and oryx raids, always felt that destiny is great for what it is and a lot of people (including bungie) want it to be something it’s not.
100% still invested, very much looking forward to Heresy and Apollo 🤘🏻
I love D2 and will be playing till the servers go down. Now I quit playing for almost 2 years and returned a year ago, so I have different perspective than I did before. I'm a different player, when something gets screwed up I just chalk it up to it being Bungie. It is what it is
Same for me. I'm tapped out on giving feedback or reacting. I Just want D2 pvp or a new dungeon to be there when I feel like playing it.
"Guys just because someone is shitting down your throat doesnt mean you get to keep complaining the hundreth time"
I stopped playing destiny at the start of act 1 or echoes but cam back recently and all I do is play 2-5 games of pvp, no idea what the meta is, just using the guns I want.
Question 1: No. Question 2: No Question 3: casual play with no care if i don't
Touch some.
Yea, I'm with you TV. I only hop on to play with friends. I have no interest in grinding Destiny. I've been playing Remnant 2 and COD.
Took a break, came for iron banner and got mercied 4 games in a row. lol
There are just no casual players left.
I really felt the pvp hit starting in beyond light imo. Season of the lost/ 30th anniversary was peak pvp. Outliers aside the population was great
I’ve mostly switched to PVE to grind out my titles and that’s what I’ll probably keep doing in the foreseeable future. PvP has been dead to me for months.
I want to care about it because of all of the time I put into it !! I was a PVP player... I did all my pve to get my pvp builds ready for trials.... but it seems that everything that I loved about the game they kept taking away.... like for me the best days of Destiny are the days when you HAD to grind raids or trials to hit makes level. when skill gap was a thing and the abilities aided the guns not the other way around... for me the perfect Destiny looks like this>>>>>>
1) weapon armor crafting is gone... The chase was part of the joy of the game farming nightfalls for god rolls trying get my perfect palindrome or TYS ( as well as armor to get my best builds)
2) SKILL GAP !! look I get it not everyone is the best at PVP but like dont nerf snipers or movement or in air accuracy because some people cant do those things embrace the fact that some players are better than others and foster it with a place for custom lobbies as well as better match making ....
3) PVE Challenge the nightfall was hard with the wipe and go back to orbit thing.. again stop nerfing it so the lower tier players can do the activity they are meant to be hard so that means get good aka practice... and foster the Sherpa community
4) weapon leveling and armor leveling those made the grind worth it I did more public events because I got this sick gun that I need xp for...
really it comes down to the fact (for me) they kept trying to make the game easy and less grindy but they really just dumbed it down and made it monotonous.
Actually good comment.
D2 will be D2. I've learned to accept all the good, get over all the bad, and enjoy it because its 1/1.
People will stop when bungie will stop Fing up. Weightgate, tonics, servers sucking. I love the game and still play but damn
I played final shape and haven't touched the game since it's been un-installed. i don't care anymore my care for the game started to dwindle a month or so before lightfall. bungie has just absorbed the fun and excitement, i used to have in d1 coming home from highschool to get on to play. it especially didn't help with the lack of care for the pvp cause I'm mainly a pvp player and there wasn't anything for me there for me anymore.
people say apathy, but they don’t actually know what it means. if you are still interacting with it, it in’t apathy. people just want to use difficult words to look cool.😂
good video, i think people just needs to stop complaining and just enjoy the game for what it is. especially when bungie is now stirring the ship to a new direction we should all just stfu and wait for it.
Im now doing more low man raids than playing pvp thats how bad it is 💀
I take breaks and that shit is healthy. Despite issues, Destiny 2 has been consistent. Be silly to argue that. I don't log on because I'm a masochist.
Well, great decision of stop complaining, it will make your videos more enjoyable for sure. Thank you for that.
I share your thoughts completely
I have the game uninstalled 😅 I mainly watch to support you, cross, and Datto.
Complaining about D2 is a core game mechanic for the franchise.
