Are you as involved as you once were? More so?
Absolutely not. I've dropped off _Hard_ Since after Final Shape. Now I only get on to play with friends and help those in Raids And dont even get me started on pvp. Outside of dicking around in PMs with, Again, Friends, I have not touched PvP. Except 8v8. I liked that.
this is what happens when a bunch of mentally ill people overwhelm the actual talent and make them leave because they cant deal with the woke freaks anymore
We're past that, I think. I started losing the plot toward the end season of Witch Queen and just couldn't make myself get excited for Lightfall. As a matter of fact, I started typing out a further explanation and can't even bother 😂 It's cooked.
Worst thing for a game isn’t super negative comments, shows people still care enough the game to want it to improve. Apathy is what truly means the game is dead. I logged on for Iron Banner cuz I like the armor set, did my daily challenge matches and then got off. Still haven’t tried Tomb of Elders at all
Apathy is exactly right. I logged into the season late and did a few of the seasonal activities. Meh. Got to the ridiculous potions and realized I don't care about the hamster wheel any longer. Haven't gone back.
The problem with the idea of "just take it less seriously" and/or "just take a break when you're not feeling up to it" is that the game still requires money to continue playing. New expansions, new seasons, these things require continued investment. If they were entirely free and PERMANENT, players could come in and out as they pleased, and never have to worry about FOMO manipulating them to feel forced to play when they aren't up to it. As it stands (doubtful that this will change with Frontiers), new big content will require more money to get in the door, and if the current content isn't good enough for people to feel good about the last couple years worth of purchases, slowly but surely, more and more people will say no, the player count will continue to drop. Especially when you factor in the increasing amount of bugs that aren't just nagging little graphical quirks, but potentially YEARS worth of "this bug caused the gear you tried to farm nearly impossible to get"...what Paul Tassi was talking about, losing the trust of the players...if players can't trust Bungie to make a fun, rewarding product (rewarding in loot, rewarding in story, rewarding in competition, rewarding at all), then why bother play OR pay. Nothing gets better when the community is largely apathetic.
@@R377R0 Destiny players both old and new, ones that have lapsed and vets grinding daily, all deserve to be treated better...in terms of quality and passion...and neither of those things have truly met the players' expectations.
Avid pvp guy who used to no life destiny, I finally hung up my hunters cloak and even the final shape couldn’t pull me back. Love your content TV and hope you’re having fun and finding success with the other games too.
I’ve moved on after giving a decade to the franchise. I’ll always cherish the memories, and I have no negative feelings towards Bungie or Destiny, but I’m almost surprised at how much I don’t care about the game after so many years of caring deeply. There is a small part of my brain that remains frustrated at the missteps and Destiny never reaching its full potential … but maybe that potential was imagined all along and the frustration is of my own making …
@@QuietDarkness27 I literally play it casually haha, I play the campaigns and seasonal content, play the events, play some crucible a few times a week for an hour or two, play the playlist activities like Onslaught a couple times a week. Is there something wrong with playing like this? lol
Your spot on with your take on what caused the player population to go down the toilet. PvP used to keep many players tied over during the doldrums between content drops. Bungie management have proven themselves completely incompetent time and time again.
As soon as I stopped taking Destiny 2 seriously I enjoyed myself FAR more than I had in the past. By simply playing maybe a couple matches of iron banner, a quick dungeon run or the final encounter of a raid instead of grinding for long hours, I've enjoyed the game so much more. I feel like Destiny has such an addicting and time consuming gameplay loop that far too many people treat the game like it's their job and take changes and problems with the game far too seriously. Just take a break, play other games and play what you like instead of stressing over what you don't. Yes you may not get the 5/5 god roll or have the gilded title to flex with but you'll be far happier and have lots more time on your hands.
Some people here really dont like to hear Play the game less or Take a break and play other games. Like fr fr play less video games in general. Go out and enjoy life
I think you got it right TV. PvP was half of the game and one of the things that made D2 special, to bring pve guns into the crucible and see what was good/fun. To me Bungie is no longer a AAA-studio, they are just a broken dev team that put makeup on a corpse.
PVP was a small part of the game because this is mainly a PVE game and the numbers have always showed that. PVP has always sucked ass and I’m glad it is all but dead. There’s still hope for a destiny 3 but I doubt it since Sony can’t afford to do anything right now 😂
I still say the march update was bad for the state of PvP because it balanced 6v6 around 3v3 and PvP feels miserable if you're not a sweatlord right now.
This has been my mentality since witch queen. I play the things I like in the game and don’t do the things I don’t like. If there is a gun that is a meta weapon but I am not gonna enjoy playing the activity, I’ll just use the next best thing.
I quit D2 altogether at the first Iron banner of the year, deleted my characters, Uninstalled the game, stopped going to the forums and reddit to post my complaint and concerns. As a gamer that has been the most liberating choice I've ever made. Bungie does not care about their players specially the pvp side. TV I still sub to you for the content of other games you cover, I look forward to the next game you cover that is not D2. Happy holidays.
Oh no, people want the state of the game to improve, how terrible! Lets just bootlick and forgive bungie for robbing us with their constant lies and empty promises. Lets just overlook all of the garbage, half assed quality “content” that they have the audacity to lock behind a paywall. God forbid people get to have ANY legitimate criticisms.
The latest Destiny scandals, weightgate and tonicgate, have really drained the remaining incentive to play and grind this game. I didn't think they'd actually break the "looter" in a looter/shooter but they did. So now I just do 1 GM and close game. Get the IB armor and close game. A broken loot chase makes the additional bugs and glitches much more intolerable. Hence, the people will close the game and move on. Bungie can't blame anyone but themselves if the people don't return.
@@FoxEmblem01 honestly no it was so long ago lol ill have to google it to remember. but the game had different issues that were worse for me at that time to be fair. item drops were not the reason i took a break from d2 in the beginning. while weight gate does suck if people understood how videos games work and how pseudo-random number generators work you wouldnt be that surprised. also considering how this is what destiny was like in the beginning with low drop rates to the point it was memed on. yes we should make sure bungie fixes their game for us but at this point everyone should move on from the looter part of this game. every long term looter shooter should look at destiny and realize that hunting for loot only satisfies the player base for so long. so you either sunset which apparently we didnt like or you make less generic loot and focus all efforts on things to do with said loot. aka making sure pvp and pve is solid even after the story is over.
@ArcturusAlpha People aren't so much mad that it happened and more that Bungie told us we were dead wrong numerous times, until people in the community came at them with irrefutable evidence, because Bungie always thinks it knows best. Only then did Bungie capitulate and go "Whoopsie". Bungie has a long history of ignoring the community's woes until it looks like they can get good PR out of it and claim to be the hero coming to save the day. Or claiming a thing is for the benefit of the community, like them lying about Activision, or hiding/lying about XP throttling numerous times over many years.
Time to Stop Complaining About Destiny 2 ? Horse pucky I paid $100 for this and some of it is garbage that needs to be fixed. I have been with this game for 7 years and I love this game but its now time to sound the alarm: hey Bungie if you give a damn your game is getting out of control...
your 100% correct, this is why I stopped playing. Stop bitching, stop playing and move on. With the number of issues this game is having in the last couple months, it should make it easy for people to move on.
Same! I do this every other year or so + a few small breaks every so often and it feels like and it makes my relationship with the game so much better. Taking a small one until after Christmas. :)
Yup I take multi week breaks every so often, longest break was 2ish years before beyond light and when I came back during lightfall I was in love all over again!! The final shape grind I hit super hard and now I’m coming back after a month break and I really enjoy when I play now albeit not as much investment/time wise
Same. I came back and am really enjoying it, but my clan imploded while I was gone and the lack of crafting combined with the tonics bug is really draining my enthusiasm.
Then it's time for Bungie to stop intentionally underdeveloping content, and to stop pushing that self-destructive mantra on to other developers in public GDC's. We as consumers of a product we pay for, have the right to voice concerns when a product is bad. Destiny 2 is not a free game. Every DLC cost money. Every annual DLC is typically $100 for the people who are complaining because we buy the full year package with all the seasons, just to get a underdeveloped buggy season where half the community can't even progress the season because they get locked out of making tonics. Or how about all the bugs where things like tonics are meant to target a specific drop but they actually don't? No. It's time you stop defending Bungie. It's time you hold accountability as a content creator, and hold Bungie accountable too. If you were truly happy with the game with nothing to complain about, then you wouldn't have taken a many, many months break from the game. You didn't play through alot of the mess and bugs we did. You come back to Destiny finally and the videos were basically "did I miss anything good?" and "stop complaining".
I finally quit completely with over 25k hours between D1 and D2 and let me tell you I've never felt better. I always thought that I'd never be done with destiny but the time finally came and life itself is so much better without the frustrations of that game!
Just imagine how many great games you could have played over these 25K hours. I realized that one point, and Destiny is just a filler content here and there. I missed sooo many great games because I was so into Destiny. I am fixing that now. 2025 is PACKED with awesome games not named Destiny. I will buy the DLCs, play them like a true little campaigns, and move back to other games that call my name. No more 100 percent Destiny. It's foolish and complete waste of time at this point.
@@tactician3023 Yeah, to name a few. I am hopping on Path of Exile 2 hype this week. Bye Destiny! A new frontier, new exciting environments. I opened Destiny a few days ago, and said, there is nothing to do here. My son got me that sidearm in Iron Bonner playing PVP when he was bored with his games. No need for my involvement. I have better games to play at this point. Prison of Elders is a massive disappointment for me. I have a feeling that Dreadnought will be as well. These tricks they use to get you back.
I like it still. I agree that pvp development slowing down was a bad move. The thing that feels bad to me this year is that The Final Shape genuinely felt like a new game in a way that D2 hasn’t felt since Forsaken… and then these Episodes are just back to same-old, same-old… It seems like they can’t deliver the volume of content needed to keep the game going and feeling fresh. And you’re totally right that in the downtime between compelling releases pvp is where players go.
@@Vengefulserpent183 For sure. Like Vanguard, I'm a major fan of the game. I have never been the biggest pvp player, but when I do pvp it was almost always either with friends, or when I ran out of pve goals to chase. For me, that is unchanged and I still like it. But the reason I can do that is because other people play a lot of pvp, so there are always matches for me.
Hardcore players switching to casual play and leading common folks instead of catering to toxic, piggybacking “die hards” is a genuine vibe. We need more of this.
Just like you I will always love Destiny and I still play it regularly, it is still my main game. These days however I feel like I have less and less desire to play. Before, I would come home from work and couldn't wait to jump in and try out a new build/gun, sometimes I would even skip dinner for more playing time. These days I have to force myself to jump in sometimes because it just isn't as fun as it used to be. As a PvP main, overpowered hunters, crazy uptime of special ammo, ability spam, bad matchmaking, SBMM, and poor sandbox choices have really made the PvP experience annoying and simply not fun. Games are supposed to be fun. The season of the splicer and the 30th-anniversary sandbox was the best for PvP in my opinion. I'd love to go back to those days.
as a pvp main as well SBMM is what kept me around. the amount of bad matchups in trials was the worst for so long. constantly being matched where a 3 stack was against 3 randoms over and over was not ideal or fun. idk what your skill level is or what you think are bad sandbox changes but ill def die on the hill that SBMM was good for most of the pvp player base.
@ArcturusAlpha personally I really hate trials. I play it every now and than and have gone flawless a couple of times but I mainly live in 6v6. SBMM in 6v6 quickplay is awful because it makes everyone play sweaty. I hate using the meta and prefer to use stuff that people wouldn't think about and you could do that before and still play well. Now you will be severely punished for not using the best of the best or the matches will just be extremely sweaty because no one is willing to take risks and people just team shoot and deathball.
@@MuhammadAli-qk2fe you must be at a higher skill level or whatever metric they use because my games on average have become less sweaty in control maps. but to be fair i dont try to play the meta which gives me less wins so i get the chill lobbies. should i win a lot though i do get some sweaty lobbies. the only time i have issues lately is when i take a break and dont know what the meta is and get demolished by weapons that were weak before OR i play on small maps that obviously should be 5v5 and not 6v6 or the worst one is when we have a really balanced game and everyone stays around for the next one only to have one team do a bit better that time for one of many reasons and bungie is like lets break up the team. i was playing two nights ago and this happened multiple times. we have a close intense game where it comes down to the wire and is close for the match maker to mix up teams in what i can only image is previous match performance instead of career performance on each map. there are some maps i do really good on and other i absolutely loath and play badly on. as for trials it has also been less sweaty once they fixed the matchmaking that always pitted randoms versus full teams. in general i just like 3v3 more because its less chaos and i can make plays and track what the other players are doing instead of just getting attacked from every angle. ive only been to the lighthouse once or twice but in general the SBMM has made the experience better for me playing on console. idk but it sounds like we should play together. im constantly using weird shit that doesnt get the win but is fun.
I legitimately have more playtime in D1 than D2 over the last few months if that says anything. And Ive been playing the crap out of the Destiny Rising alpha. D2 just needs to have that magic and mystery again. Idk how else to describe it
I just came back last September after putting in 7.1k hrs up to 2020 - and man I am absolutely stoked about the game again after taking a break for a few years. I honestly thought I was never coming back but yeah, it's looking like I'm back. Lol
Even if there were crafting it'd just be another shopping list that'd bore me to death filling it out. There's nothing new they can give us in D2 anymore loot wise. I don't even care that the guns all look like existing loot, I just have absolutely no use for any of it outside of maybe the dungeon loot which has a couple of new perks and a second flavour of area denial GL, but that's it. Once you have 3 flavours of rocket sidearm, it's hard to care. I have every hand cannon, shotgun, sniper, fusion I could ever need...
This is actually a pretty good way to get the most out of the game’s strengths - dip in for some good gunplay/ability shenanigans, but don’t get invested in the farms and grinds where the bugs live.
Opening up about how mean another community was and still having a blast playing and making content on that game is pretty based. Regardless of how anyone feels about destiny or its content creators that have moved to variety content, you can't deny TV's positive attitude will always make him a worthwhile watch.
I can remember the days when I was in groups that would do a raid and then afterwards chill in crucible. Idk why but PvE isn't really doing it for me either I still haven't attempted the new raid. I think my notorious bad rng has begun to take its toll also. I do find myself questioning why am I grinding for a godroll if I can already complete activities without it. To me the only real reason to benefit from godrolls would be in crucible but there's no one there anymore.
The sooner people realize that there are zero developers who ACTUALLY listen to criticism and complaints from CCs and players, the better. Our complaints fall on deaf ears, ALWAYS!
Sorry TV, but not complaining is not an option when they sell Expansions at $60. They had a good thing and turned it to shit. This Season had more bugs than Lightfall, and its $15 bucks. Until we see concrete progress of them trying to fix the game (even if unlikely), i urge people to keep critisizing the game, as its nor perfect.
I’ve mostly switched to PVE to grind out my titles and that’s what I’ll probably keep doing in the foreseeable future. PvP has been dead to me for months.
I haven't played or thought about D2 in months. Been enjoying my time as a free man from this game playing other games. Highly recommend Silent Hill 2 Remake, and Stalker 2. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is up next. As for D2, i don't see myself coming back. TFS campaign gave me the closure i needed to finally move on with my life. Tried Episode 1, but i wasn't really impressed, so I uninstalled.
Myself and almost my entire raid core have stopped playing - with the exception of literally two guys. I built a clan and a Discord around Destiny 2 and I love the group of players I've managed to build up (albeit a small one), but I still have all the bots and active pings in various channels for Destiny news, Bungie Tweets et cetera - so we all have a laugh over all the bugs and issues that seem never ending. But we've all basically stopped caring because we stopped playing. We stopped complaining. But I would argue that that reality is almost worse. We complained because we truly cared about the game and wanted to see change. Now, we just don't care and we've all moved onto other games - which has been great for all of us. Anyway - cheers to you for the Space Marine 2 content btw, as a huge Heresy/40k lover, you did great with all of it. Don't mind the Chaos ridden heretics bashing you in comments.
Destiny 2: sorry we’re removing all the paid for content from year 1 because we want to resell it to you as new content for $15 which gets removed again and because pretty lighting Warframe: our updates aren’t going anywhere
Most of us have moved on from Destiny. I stopped at Forsaken but played D1 all the way from the alpha. Some of my best memories without a doubt. Issue is, bungie has always been sketchy even through D1, but in recent times it's apparent why they've fallen so far.
2 things resolved this issue for me: 1. I play a few shooters, not just D2. Division 2, Warframe, Helldivers 2, etc. I am less disappointed by the flaws of each game as I have other options. I’m not banging my head against the same wall every time I game. 2. Ignore and avoid the “communities” of all the games you play. There are very few truly positive things being discussed in these communities.
i care very deeply about this game and invest a lot into it, i’ve just come to terms that doing that does nothing. i wish i could detach and care less, because i know it won’t be what we want
Took time off to enjoy dragons dogma, remnant, b3, alan wake, hell even went back to Titanfall. Only pop on D2 to see whose still on and most of the time ill play a couple matches in crucible or log in and log off. Cant miss much from the game if u no longer miss the game 😅
This is also true. There are still plenty of people playing Destiny 2. It’s just it seems like it’s a downward trend which does kinda spook people. Another thing to consider, when hasn’t there been people screaming from the heavens “DEAD GAME” about Destiny.
@vampirelordx1 I know, but we just had the biggest jumping off point in history, The Final Shape, and there are still a half million players going strong.
The worst thing I can say about D2 is that after 10 years of playing religiously, I FINALLY don’t really care anymore. It isn’t even that bad, I just feel like my enjoyment of the Destiny loop is kind of ending. I haven’t even tried the new season which has never happened before. The game has had a great run but maybe it’s just time for other games to enjoy the spotlight.
It's crazy how I found you from your SM2 videos and the moment I put it down to wait for more content, I try D2 and you post this video. Guess you have more content that appeals to me that I need to watch.
I will quote you at 5:00 of your video - "And to make things worse, Trials of Osiris has always been the activity that keeps people coming back." I say this is a bold statement and can be considered a lie. Trials of Osiris does NOT carry the player base, and never has. It has seen record low numbers almost every week for many months (outside of a few outliers of 200K players on certain weeks). C'mon Vanguard, at least stay honest. Trials only carried in D1, in D2 it has been nothing but a challenge for everyone, bungie included.
Just be like the bradster. Have fun. And don’t care about metas or anything and just play to play. Go watch his first raid with aztecross. Absolute cinema.
90 % of pve balance complaints boil down to "this isn't as good as consecration spam, buff it!" when the obvious solution is to adjust consecration spam.
I'm honestly impressed with how long you've managed to stay dedicated to Destiny. That's some serious stamina and endurance you've got! I took a year off after Lightfall and only came back for The Final Shape. Now I'm not playing again 😅
I watch a video from you every once in a while, that is the extent of my Destiny interaction. I watched the final shape story on TH-cam, and then checked out. I am having a blast buying and playing all the PS3 and PS4 games I missed while Destiny was the only thing I played. I don’t hate Destiny, I have a ton of fond memories.
100% agree with you that the beginning of the end was the neglect of PvP - I quit Destiny halfway through SHADOWKEEP after playing it avidly without ever stopping up until that point solely because it was obvious to me PvP would continue to become an afterthought. I think I made a pretty solid prediction, haven’t looked back at what was once my all-time favorite game since sadly
I see myself becoming an even more casual D2 player than I am now, and at this point I'm not even engaging much in the core playlist, not even GM's. I feel done caring. I'll grab a few gunsmith bounties, some moon bounties, put on some good music and kill hive at Alters of Sorrow cuz it's fun watching things go boom. No more season passes, no more expansions for me.
I think criticizing the game for it’s flaws is totally acceptable. The game in itself is amazing to play, but the new player experience needs a complete overhaul. There’s a lot of quality of life that can be implemented too. Showing in precisely what fragments/perks/mods gives would be a huge improvement. Why do I need to ho on a 3rd party website to understand how bait n switch is way better than frenzy? Adding the % each buffs gives you wouldn’t overload the description of the perks at all. I love this game and play it everyday but complaining all the time is just a waste of energyto me. I do the activities I like and that’s it.
content creators are overdoing it with complaining.. making like 3-5 videos complaining about the same issues in just a couple of days.. and saying basically the same.. I guess it draws attention and views. Complaining and critique is fair of course, I hate this game all the time lol but people don't have to milk it like a cow
I’ve been playing bg3 for my pve fix and black ops for my PvP. It’s crazy, when I started playing destiny at d2 launch I thought yeah it can only go up from here. And I continued banking on its potential for years and now the final shape may very well have been the final expansion I play.
I don’t see myself ever playing Destiny 2 again. It was good 10 years. I’ll continue follow it casually to out of curiosity, but there is nothing they can do to make me want to play again. Also my massive backlog of single player games is thanking me!
what you said in general is how I approach PvP specifically. I am a Warlock main (who does all PvE activity first on Warlock. But was not having any fun in PvP, I started using Hunter. Not the version I personally think is still broken (Prismatic - Storm's Edge, strand spector dodging, and swarm grenades). Even IB I went through the guilding w a Solar hunter build, with tripmines and weighted knife, and pulling Traveler's judgement sidearm from collections. Switching between exoctic gauntlets for variety (Ahamkara spines, and Athry's). I decided to ignore the meta and have fun, and in the end actually played better overall than I normally do (but the key point was had more fun in PvP in a long time. Will keep playing Solar Hunter in PvP until it stops being fun.
I check in for episodes and the odd pvp content when theres a weapon I want but tbh I just find myself checking out of video games in general these days. Started reading the dune series, I forgot how enjoyable reading was lol. Appreciate the video though, also the suppression from CO in that background footage was crazy. Wish you the best!
Been playing destiny 1 release. Beat the final shape and haven’t touched it since. I’ll always love it and look back on it fondly but my time with destiny ended. Diablo 4 has my heart now
I still care deeply about D2 and hope it can succeed but I also find myself playing less this season. Grinding IB for a good sidearm was painful. Almost all of my D2 friends have quit the game at this point and our clan’s discord is a ghost town. It makes me sad that a game I loved so much is fading away. But I’m glad you’re making content for other games and I look forward to playing new games that you find interesting
I quit Destiny after Final Shape and haven’t regretted it. It’s been a wild ride with high highes and low lows. I will treasure the good memories and smile with relaxed distance regarding the tough ones. I wish everyone who is still playing good loot and a lot of enjoyment! Goodbye, old friend… But a TV vid is still a TV vid, so here I am :)
Respectfully, this is like the 4th time you've made this video. I dont think you're going to stop complaining, nor do I think you should. Even a decade in, Destiny has as almost as much potential as it has flaws.
You are at the point I reached years ago. Last Expansion i bought was Shadowkeep. Free to play since then. I still play, i still watch the new content, but i don't care enough to put more money into it.
Yeah I still love it. Very low skill gap and insane amounts of bs but it’s the only game like it. It’s still a really popular game all the same even though it’s not what it once was.
Sadly, I don’t care as deeply as I used to. I bought The Final Shape but haven’t finished and kinda wished I had spent my money on something else. Such is life though, been playing other games and having fun. I’m glad you’ve come to this realisation because there’s been very little to be gained in hating on and complaining about Destiny over the years. Bungie is gonna Bungie regardless of what we think and the best way to get them to realise something is wrong is to stop playing and have fun elsewhere. It’s very telling that Destiny 2 is nowhere to be found in Sony announcing a free multiplayer weekend this weekend. Not even a word.
I used to be mainly PVE (joined around pirate season in witch queen) and started getting into PVP after Lightfall dropped. Mostly because the grenade spam in the 1st round kicked my ass in Trials, and I wanted to use builds that could contest. After that I pretty much played both PVP and PVE. Gambit was fun ish too All my friends who played PVE endgame content all left, but I kept playing. Not much I wanted to do in PVE since I like playing with my friends mostly, but PVP I could just keep playing now it's just reached a certain point that there isn't much variety or interesting changes so I've been playing D2 far less than I used to (daily), like maybe once a week lol
Ignoring profit motivations, as a player I'd wish that Bungie would just stop trying to maximise engagement throughout the entire year and just provide 2 "mini expansion" content with no seasons. yes they have said they are adding "shadow-keep sized expansions" but they can just stop the seasons (since 60% of the time they suck anyway) and just provide quarterly patches since they clearly do not have the resources or ideas to keep up with the episodic model
How do I feel about Destiny? Probably the same thing a lot of folks feel, a bit apathetic. Like you I’ll always be a fan and hop on to play from time to time, but my interests have been drawn elsewhere. As of now I haven’t really touched the game for about 6 months. Just last week I loaded it up, sat in orbit, and quit after 10 minutes chilling there. Game will always have a special place in my heart, and the real life friends I’ve made in that game have been great. I just don’t really care anymore though, I’ve been enjoying Space Marine aswell, Deep Rock Galactic, cod, and some single player story games. Btw I’ve very much enjoyed seeing you branch out and make videos on new games, I think I’ve seen every single of your SM2 videos, and I was happy to see one of my favorite creators cover a new game I enjoyed too. I’d like to see you try out and make some Deep Rock Galactic videos if you haven’t yet. I love that game. Rock and Stone.
I have played since day one D1. I have had to take several breaks and hiatus because the game got stale or wasn’t worth my time. I love this game above all others. But changing my mindset to play the game like a casual has opened be game back up to me. I miss being the guy who knew every little thing and had the best most optimized loadout. But that’s not feasible for me anymore with the cadence of gameplay and real life.
I’m sick of that guy from Forbes mag that always getting the community together just to complain then go back and play again. I love this game and will play it for a long time even with all the complaints.
To each their own. Love the input and your point of view. Getting out as a content creator is smart as Destiny 2 has been under very bad leadership and fallen to a point where players don’t trust it.
4000 hours is enough. Half a year of my life dedicated to one game. I’ll always have the fondest of memories, but playing now is like visiting an old ball field you played on as a kid - nostalgia hits, you may take a few swings, maybe even run the bases, but you’ll never be under the lights again. It was fun while it lasted.
Stopped "caring deeply " about destiny since D2 day 1. But you're right. Destiny is what it is and we who like it will always feel drawn to it. I won't stop hating on destiny. I'll just stop hating myself for coming back every time.
I think the overall take of the video is the only way to still enjoy Destiny and not throw your hands up in frustration. taking breaks to play other games is super refreshing, but expecting the game to re-invent itself at this point is like trying to swim up a waterfall. I really like the game, but I will not let it consume like it did in the past.
This game drives me insane with things that are just infuriating. For instance - playing IB for pinnacles to try and get to the useless 2010 cap. In the one night I get 4 heavy and 2 Primary weapons - both slots of which were already at 2010. I get a single piece of armor in a slot that I needed. Go to Banshee to try and get the 2010 energy weapon I need - another heavy. On top of that - focusing for the sidearm - 3 in a row with exactly the same useless perks combo and no chill clip. The game just does not respect my time - an entire evening wasted with only one tiny bit of advancement towards hard cap. I should have had enough drops to get everything on that character to 2010.

Where are you at right now with Destiny 2? Are you as involved as you once were? More so?
Absolutely not. I've dropped off _Hard_ Since after Final Shape.
Now I only get on to play with friends and help those in Raids
And dont even get me started on pvp. Outside of dicking around in PMs with, Again, Friends, I have not touched PvP. Except 8v8. I liked that.
Destiny’s on a slippery slope when negative passion turns to apathy
this is what happens when a bunch of mentally ill people overwhelm the actual talent and make them leave because they cant deal with the woke freaks anymore
Still haven’t tried Tomb of Elders at all
Same
Don't bother, you can get the same loot from Onslaught, and while Tomb of Elders is slightly faster, its annoying af.
Players absolutely wanna get their moneys’ worth.
Same, they literally push players away and only have kept many around through an addiction of sorts....
“Hung up my hunters cloak” goes hard
but it's funny how nobody hates d2 more than d2 players...
That’s because it’s to convoluted to get into casually. Yes, veterans can go casual, but no one is getting into Destiny casually.
@@QuietDarkness27 That is the current state of gaming ask. Most of the games worth playing require a Serious time investment
@@QuietDarkness27 I literally play it casually haha, I play the campaigns and seasonal content, play the events, play some crucible a few times a week for an hour or two, play the playlist activities like Onslaught a couple times a week. Is there something wrong with playing like this? lol

Wait you mean to only people that complain about a product are the people that have been customers of said product. Wow hilarious 🤡
Short answer is no. The apathy has hit hard and i'm finding myself logging in less and finding less reasons to come back.
Your spot on with your take on what caused the player population to go down the toilet. PvP used to keep many players tied over during the doldrums between content drops.
Bungie management have proven themselves completely incompetent time and time again.
I, too, took a 3-month hiatus. That was about 18 months ago or so. Think I’ll just plan to stay there. 😂
You will never get me to stop complaining about my paid DLC being removed from the game. Yet I still play this game lol

@@Hawk-Eye-bs2hr don’t let it change the fact that we simp for Pablos mom
Absolutely. Moderation is key.
There’s still hope for a destiny 3 but I doubt it since Sony can’t afford to do anything right now 😂
Bungie has treated its player base like an abusive spouse and players have finally had enough.
Companies that maximize profit always will. Best to not play into it too much. Do other things with your life
My teenager summed it up best when I tried to get him to come back for the Final Shape: “Dad, Destiny is a lifestyle. I don’t have time for that.”
I’ll stop complaining when the game isn’t shit.
Hatred is a lot of emotion to spend on something you don’t like
If you think it’s shit, why play? So many good games to play.

Well there ya go! When youve had enougb just quit. You sound free, some people just cant seem to do that
Oh no, people want the state of the game to improve, how terrible!
Bungie can't blame anyone but themselves if the people don't return.
lol tonicgate i think calling it that is such and over reaction on our part.
@@ArcturusAlpha remember when engramgate happened when d2 launched? I do and I wouldn't put it past them to do this
@@FoxEmblem01 honestly no it was so long ago lol ill have to google it to remember. but the game had different issues that were worse for me at that time to be fair. item drops were not the reason i took a break from d2 in the beginning.
while weight gate does suck if people understood how videos games work and how pseudo-random number generators work you wouldnt be that surprised. also considering how this is what destiny was like in the beginning with low drop rates to the point it was memed on.
yes we should make sure bungie fixes their game for us but at this point everyone should move on from the looter part of this game. every long term looter shooter should look at destiny and realize that hunting for loot only satisfies the player base for so long. so you either sunset which apparently we didnt like or you make less generic loot and focus all efforts on things to do with said loot. aka making sure pvp and pve is solid even after the story is over.
To each their own.
except this is a live-service. people paid for long-term content. this is not the same as a one time purchase.
@ agreed. People just don’t get it.
Look at how the call of duty base goes.
Hell even I say move on that doesn't make it easy to.
I took a season off and im back absolutely in love with the game despite some of the issues
Same! I do this every other year or so + a few small breaks every so often and it feels like and it makes my relationship with the game so much better.
Taking a small one until after Christmas. :)
@Xander--gd5lb it keeps the game fresh
Yup I take multi week breaks every so often, longest break was 2ish years before beyond light and when I came back during lightfall I was in love all over again!! The final shape grind I hit super hard and now I’m coming back after a month break and I really enjoy when I play now albeit not as much investment/time wise
Same. I came back and am really enjoying it, but my clan imploded while I was gone and the lack of crafting combined with the tonics bug is really draining my enthusiasm.
same here. im looking for people with similar mindsets to keep laying with.
Actually good comment.
Elden ring and bg3
The thing that feels bad to me this year is that The Final Shape genuinely felt like a new game in a way that D2 hasn’t felt since Forsaken… and then these Episodes are just back to same-old, same-old…
It seems like they can’t deliver the volume of content needed to keep the game going and feeling fresh. And you’re totally right that in the downtime between compelling releases pvp is where players go.
I agree with you fully on this the pvp development has slowed down a bit but I still play it
@@Vengefulserpent183 For sure.
@ahawkone8850 yeah it's fun and I am also having fun in gambit because of the young ahunkara buff
Lol
Same here Man
Most of us just quit this season when we realized no crafting...
It’s not the lack of crafting. It’s the lack of good loot at all. They don’t even look different from what we have ffs.
@bannedmann4469 nothing to craft kinda cut this season off for me.
That said yeah it's all reused guns with baubles taped to them.
@@bannedmann4469the pulse is the only good gun imo this season. i have a rime HS exuviae and the rime CC blinding liturgy but man, i barely use them
Even if there were crafting it'd just be another shopping list that'd bore me to death filling it out.
People will stop when bungie will stop Fing up. Weightgate, tonics, servers sucking. I love the game and still play but damn
How your title reads “It’s time to stop holding Bungie accountable”
Give us a Forge mode!
Took Bungie 1k days for 3 maps...
Give us Forge & we'll have 1k maps in 3 days... And I'll play another decade.
Destiny 2: sorry we’re removing all the paid for content from year 1 because we want to resell it to you as new content for $15 which gets removed again and because pretty lighting
Warframe: our updates aren’t going anywhere
There's no point to complain. Bungies philosophy to game dev will always keep this game mediocre and a failure of wasted potential.
Most of us have moved on from Destiny. I stopped at Forsaken but played D1 all the way from the alpha. Some of my best memories without a doubt. Issue is, bungie has always been sketchy even through D1, but in recent times it's apparent why they've fallen so far.
2 things resolved this issue for me:
I understand the message you were trying to convey, but 427,000 players is still a very strong number.
Not strong enough of a number to prevent more layoffs from happening
Not strong enough for matchmaking to work. Maybe it’s finally time to turn off SBMm. Nah.. f em.
@bannedmann4469 most of those are PvE players for sure haha. I play PvP 90% of the time so I'm well aware of how bad it is 😅
The worst thing I can say about D2 is that after 10 years of playing religiously, I FINALLY don’t really care anymore. It isn’t even that bad, I just feel like my enjoyment of the Destiny loop is kind of ending. I haven’t even tried the new season which has never happened before. The game has had a great run but maybe it’s just time for other games to enjoy the spotlight.
Awwww! The puppy! I know you did it for the comments and it worked 🤣
she's pretty awesome so i had to keep her in
I popped back in to play iron banner. Have had a fun time using my old guns as I last paid for Final Shape. Good time was had.
Not thanking Pete Parsons as the sponsor is nasty work 😂
then stop calling my constructive criticism complaining.
The Life Preserver analogy is spot on TV!
If people want to play pvp, they go play cod, fortnite, apex... if they want to play some pve, they play Destiny. That is my opinion.
I'll never understand why Bungie siphoned funds away from D2 into various projects without reinvesting into it.
I take breaks and that shit is healthy. Despite issues, Destiny 2 has been consistent. Be silly to argue that. I don't log on because I'm a masochist.
When people figured out that there was no D3 coming that was the final nail in the coffin for Bungie!
No one in their right mind would forgive bungie for sunsetting/vaulting away content that WE PAID FOR.
what you said in general is how I approach PvP specifically.
Goodbye, old friend…
But a TV vid is still a TV vid, so here I am :)
Question 1: No. Question 2: No Question 3: casual play with no care if i don't
I'm one of the people still deeply invested in the game. Good or bad, this is my main game, I've been playing it for nearly half of my life.
Gambit was fun ish too
All my friends who played PVE endgame content all left, but I kept playing. Not much I wanted to do in PVE since I like playing with my friends mostly, but PVP I could just keep playing
now it's just reached a certain point that there isn't much variety or interesting changes so I've been playing D2 far less than I used to (daily), like maybe once a week lol
asking a baby base to not cry is like asking a real baby to not cry when he needs something
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! I swear it's all I've seen lately no matter what the subject is.
I am still in love with destiny, but rarely get to play due to work.
Agreed. It’s a damn good game. It’s so fun. Is it perfect? No. Is it fucking awesome? Yes.
I love your videos!! I would love to see a video with all of your Sidearms and their Rolls!!!
Fantastic analogy on the life preserver reference. Really is a perfect summary of where we are with destiny pvp.
I’m sick of that guy from Forbes mag that always getting the community together just to complain then go back and play again. I love this game and will play it for a long time even with all the complaints.
This pretty much hit the nail on the head about how I feel about Destiny
