To save base floor space build each desired pallet with a large chest in front of it. Fill the pallet first, then the chest. The chest can hold multiple pallets worth of crafting materials so your base isn’t so cluttered. Also, pro-tip. This is one of those games best shared with a buddy. Solo is cool, but it truly shines when you discover it with a friend.
For those who don't want to cheese another world, there are various "pits" in the Elven sectors. Dig down, and you will find Elven wood roots, as well as Ubasm wood.
another tip if you dont want to use the torch for that precious single mastercraft slot you can use the cosmetics system and use the miners hat ANYTIME so now you can stop spamming torches to get a lil bit of light while your mining with your trusty pick.
You can place 8 items on the roasting pit and run them until about 2 seconds left, leave the world, log back in and they will be done sitting on the pit not on the table where they can be picked up and stored for later consumption. I never cook unless it's 8 at a time. You may have to shorten the time to a second or less depending on your computer speed and items needing to be rendered. Just make sure the dinner bell doesn't ding or you waited too long.
@nyljohnvictoracierto9402 they are two separate tips. One where the camp is sieged and no orcs arrive with the siege event. Second where a horde is triggered away from the base and using the mapstone - fast travelling back to base to utilise heals at base to fight them. Hordes will follow you wherever you mapstone to. Two separate scenarios :)

@ckoritko great tip legend! I also agree, exploring with other dwarves is where this game truly shines

Says Durin's Tomb has no Orcs when under siege, then proceeds to show us a clip where a siege is happening in Durin's Tomb. Huh?
