  • Night 11 of our 30 night overnight challenge was spent with my son (Sam) and sister (Erin). We did a backpacking overnighter at Wild River State Park in Eastern Minnesota.

Great trip Tim! PA is the same way. Nothing saying whether they are good for hammocks or not and not just for state parks. Come to think of it, no map or guide book or app actually says anything about it. Interesting. I usually watch a video of someone that did the trail and used a hammock. No better way to be but weird! 👍

Awesome video, so glad you guys had this awesome site, great scenery too. That drone footage is awesome as always dude. And it's true, who wants to be normal anyway, I know I am not. Looks like you guys had a good meal after the hike there. Tim says he is diggin' the music.

Buck Hill was gorgeous and shame about there being no hammock camping there but what a real lush place that looked. Good to see you did get the hammocks out eventually and looked a perfect setup and that sunset looked amazing. Morning turned at dam fine too and that burger did look juicy! Cheers Alan

Nice one Tim. Put Whitewater State Park on your list as it is one of the areas within MN with little to no mosquitoes. It is true. The creek water is too cold to allow them to hatch.

Embrace the weirdness! There really isn't anything called "normal" anyway...everyone is unique and that's the way it should be. As for mosquitos, it is shaping up to be a horrible year...and our blackflies too that just take chunks right out of you...and the ticks!!!! Good to get out with family and reflect for sure. Take good care and enjoy the week! Bruce and Otis
