Very good advice. Look at you playing pocket pool in your video. You say you are looking for a coupler, but we know the truth.

Great video pal and right on the money. I like the CNOC bags too, but I have to say their customer service stinks. I had two of my bags develop the dreaded pin holes leaks. I emailed them and they told me “sorry to hear you have experienced the pin hole defect, we suggest you try to glue them shut by purchasing some silicone sealant and smearing on the affected area”! Really? Hope you are well. Best, Pete

Great video Tim! You’re right, there are so many different brands/versions of the same things. And gear choices are very personal. I’ve never come across anyone that had the exact same load out as another (families excluded). This is a great video for a beginner. 👍

The Sawyer filters don't seem to be carried by Wal-Mart anymore. I needed to replace mine this spring. Ended up getting it at EMS instead.

I haven't man but I think it would be nice sometimes. I don't tent often enough to buy one though.

I have a membrane solutions water filter. It comes with a 3lt. Bag an hoses. It's the only filter I found that's rebuildable and has a carbon filter.
I find the difference between cheap and expensive gear is marketing. There are loads of things that don't require a month's pay.
Tents I can't a tarp and a bug tent by one wind.
I use alcohol stove and a titanium twig stove. I don't like gas cans I can't tell how much fuel they have.
I use Sofirn or wuben for light.
I'm still on a quest for a good pack. I don't like ultra light designs.
I want something tough that I can strap fishing poles to.
I want 45 liter definitely more then 30 less then 65. Unless I guess the 65liter is light and has molle?

Have you looked at the Flash 55 from REI? Great pack and pretty damn light for a framed backpack.

Carry a little dental floss, nothing worse than having a piece of jerky stuck between your teeth for days.
