THE BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE..AMAZING AURORA BOREALIS..LAKE DISTRICT WILDCAMP. ATOMPACKS AFFILIATE LINK - atompacks.co.u... Music Credit: "Music: www.purple-pla..."
Absolutely stunning camp, one in a lifetime, I was out in the woods wildcamping, found a clearing to just lay down on forest floor an watch the aurora, as you say, just wow, stunning video with your new gopro, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Saw the Southern equivalent - Aurora Australis last weekend. Magnificent light show. Not the first time and hopefully won't be the last living in Tasmania.
Something else that mate. Did you feel eerie?? I was a bit creeped out. The atmosphere changed. But it was amazing. Good camps are few and far between but sometimes. Just sometimes. It all falls into place. 👌. Atb.
cheers Andy cant say i felt different or eerie in any way i was just gobsmacked to see it as we did by eye..having a good run of camps just of late the conditions have been excellent long may it continue.
Andy - we were able to see the Aurora in Melbourne Australia last Saturday night. Had no idea it was possible to see where we are. What a euphoric experience, completely understand your excitement, that would have been phenomenal where you were 👌
Great video Andy. Funny enough a couple of years my wife and I did a walk from High Lorton up to Hopegill Head and I can recall we encountered the same problem as you in accessing the path over that wall. I was quite surprised how sheer the drop off is at the summit of Hopegill and similar to you we came in from the edge as we neared the summit. Fantastic pics of the aurora 👍
Superb Andrew. Loved that. We were on Place Fell the night before. Beautiful day and evening looking over towards Helvellyn. Some slog with packs mind. Thank you for all your content.
Awesome Andy. The look on your face said it all...and a great spot. Not been on those tops for years. I think I'm adding to my list, maybe winter. Such a night!
thanks Murray..yeah a once in a lifetime seeing that as we did..to see it by eye like that this far south was incredible..hopefully not the last time we get to see it like that.
Great video Andy. Quite humbling I’d guess to experience the lights? Was just thinking whether you’d consider doing a more detailed video on the camera equipment you use and the various accessories? Maybe something for wet afternoon? 👍
Superb video...stunning views and the best light show ever...excellent pitch for tent...the look of joy in your face watching the Northern lights was the same as mine..I watched them from 11pm until 2.30am... Brilliant video, many thanks and best wishes.
That was an incredible camp even without the aurora Andy. The look on your face after youd seen them was great, I think everyone had such an experience and being on a beautiful mountain is the final touch! Thanks, as always.
Great vid mate. Those colours were something special. Very pleased you got to witness it in such a stunning place. A lifetime memory and a very humbling experience for sure.👍👌👏
Amazing! I'm very happy for you! Unfortunately it was cloudy where we were. Thanks for the beautiful pictures! It's always so nice to see your love for the landscape and nature!
I was camped on top of Kirk Fell with my Uncle, both completely oblivious to the fact the Aurora was going to take place. No phone signal in that area for either of us. So, with probably the best and clearest view imaginable, right over Wast Water and out to sea, feeling completely knackered, we went to bed at 10pm. Absolutely gutted. 😢
Great views, it was amazing. I saw it from my house on Friday, but missed it on Saturday when I was out camping. I got some good shots though. Thanks for sharing yours. A once in a lifetime view around here. Steve.
Stunning as always 👍🏼 Some great hills those. I was in my back garden in Northamptonshire, with my jaw on the floor at the Aurora, not especially looking North, but straight above, greens/pinks. By eye it was amazing but the phone images I got blew my mind. A night many of us will never forget. Cheers, Gary B
I was in the centre of England.. could See the lights with the naked eye.. Though my dodgy old phone could not pick up the colours.. infact I was gutted when I watched it back, all you could see was a black screen and hear me going ooohhh, beautiful, amazing etc.. so it all got edited out.. deaply disheartening.. Take care out there..
Great video as usual Andy but I’m as jealous as Hell. I went up around Blencathra on Saturday night and enjoyed a good walk but sat up until midnight and saw bugger all. 😊
Great stuff mate, especially the time-lapse....I really liked that. I've used a media mod with my Hero 10 for about two years and wouldn't be without it. The sound quality is definitely better and on a personal level, it picks up natural sounds, e.g. bird-song, really well. Two negatives I suppose, in heavy rain I don't trust it and go back to the foam wind-muff and also, I flip a lot between the front and back mics and sometimes find myself recording on the wrong one, which gives a muffled recording. ATB, Chris
you can set the mics to record on front & back at same time chris can on the 12 anyway..it does pick up bird sound quite well which im quite imppressed with.
@@AndrewBeavers Yes we're (supposed to be) energised just like we are from the sun. All natural light is energy, more often we assimilate subtly with long term health benefits. More light shows to come!
I was camping on greystones cpl weeks ago and was trying to work a path up thus route but couldn't see where it would start.i was camped on blencathra Friday night but I'd been up since 3.30 and guess what I fell asleep just before the lights kicked off I was gutted
Great pics Andy, there is expected to be more of the like though, the high point of this present solar cycle is reckoned to be around 10 August; the number of X-class solar flares has been steadily increasing since 2017, and are expected to continue to rise within the remaining (2) solar cycles along with the present one within the present Gleissberg cycle (a series of 8, eleven year solar cycles, which have the habit of increasing in intensity in the last cycles. Lovely to see, but a portent for what is to come, I fear.
@@AndrewBeavers a link between the auroras and yon “Aztec” stone up on Kinder (you’ve probably seen it, hoping to go there myself one day, long way from Grampian though) - a little intense in places, but you’ll recognise the picture around 20:46 if you’ve seen the stone; ‘there’s owt much that’s new under the Sun’, as they say. 🖐🏻👍🏻th-cam.com/video/6meaU1QcSdA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rg2bX7OsEUeSjV8u

Absolutely gorgeous! I got to see a small bit of a light show when I lived in North Dakota, USA. Nothing like that tho!
Made me cry , incredible
Wow wow wow, what an amazing experience! Great photos and video. Thank you for sharing.
It even made its way down to Stairfoot over my house! But of course I missed it cos I’d gone to bed!😩
Spectacular, Andy!
Wow Andy ! Amazing - that shot of the Aurora above your tent in portrait is one of the best shots I’ve seen - great video as always sir

We always love your amazing adventures Andy and this one tops them all
Waited 56 years to see the aurora borealis, it was worth the wait!
❤
Congratulations on a life time ambition achieved. Just to say seeing the Aurora once turns out to be not enough in my experience.

Smashing Andy thanks for sharing just fantastic to see your footage of the aurora.
Wow... just wow. Truly amazing footage Andy . Well captured 👌
Superb video. Thanks Andy. Super shots of the Aurora. Being in the Southern Hemisphere they are really drool worthy
Amazing shots of the aurora, Andy. Somehow, I was one of the few people who didn’t know it was happening, last week.

EE gets a signal up there. 😉
@@AndyWardle would’ve been handy to be on EE in that case! I did get an occasional signal but not reliable enough to be useful.
@@SteRumbelow yeah I was up there a while back. It’s only on the top. It’s not a popular opinion but I think the lakes needs masts

Awesome camp that Andy, stunning shots of the aurora 👌🏻
I follow a few wild campers and so far you are the only one who has posted footage of the aurora. Well done Andy, amazing video.
