Thoroughly enjoyed this one Andy. What an amazing spot. Sort of sussed where it’s at following your route from OS Maps. Like u say these spots need protecting. Stunning footage and good craic as usual 👍
What a great spot, I really must have a camp over there, I am lucky to have the Cheviots so close so tend to stop there, as for revealing locations people don’t seem to want to scour the maps any more they just want a spot told and put it in the map app, and lose the fun of looking and planning from a map. Loved this camp Cheers from Northumberland
Your right Andrew, that is a beautiful spot for a wild camp. And i totally agree about Piers Gill, i've seen it up close heading up to the stretcher box and Styhead Tarn from Wasdale, and i would never attempt it in a million years. Very good advice. 👍
A crackin spot Andy for sure. Not far to get up top for some of the best views up there. Deffinatly marked on the map for me. Thanks for another very informative video mate. 👌👍
A beautiful part of the world and a brilliant video Andy, this video shows that if you put the effort in you will definitely get the rewards. It certainly does beat the bog hopping a little bit.
How can that be a secret, it's marked on the os map,. Just look east from the corridor route on the slopes of great end and it's there. All this secrecy is a laugh. I wish contributors didn't do it. Nice vid though Andy.
@@gobbledygook33 probably just trying to stop certain wildcamping spots from becoming overused .Unfortunately not everyone follows the Leave No Trace ethos Andy always follows and promotes . I've seen it first hand in popular spots such as the Peak District and other parts of the Lake District.
Great spot Andy. I was able to triangulate your position easily enough from the other landmarks you mentioned and must get there sometime. Kielder Water, if I'm not mistaken? Cheers, Paul
What a fantastic adventure, oh boy I was sweating watching it! Did you go for a dip in the tarn? One way to cool off 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Loved the videography Andrew, bloody top dollar!
It IS an awesome spot. When I did my film there I had similar conditions. Stunning. I saw that guy with the Paramotor flying there on Instagram, should have looked for your tent 😂. I was surprised at the lack of midge there too .... Next time I go there I'm heading a little higher. Maybe winter. Great film again mate. 👍
That looked a peaceful night's camp Andrew, I read last week the Lake District National Park and Mountain Rescue hope to put some direction signage up around the top of Piers Gill by the end of June, as you say a lot ot of people get on the wrong path and end up in the Gill and have to call Mountain Rescue out.
Another great video Andy, did Scafell Pike a few weeks ago and came down the route you came down although the weather wasn't as good as you had, must try a camp up there sometime view's look amazing. Looking forward to the next one.
Andy you've been using the Durston X-Mid Pro for a few hikes now. How have you found this single layer tent and is it something you would use all year round?
You can’t beat the outdoors with weather like you had 🎉☀️ great video this is Andy, with lots of good information and guidance 👍🏻how do you find the mesh inner on the Xmid? I’m looking at getting the Xmid 1 for spring/summer but not sure on a full mesh inner or solid 🤔
Scafell Pike is the last of the trio that i need to tick off - would be great to combine this with a wildcamp. Where is the best place to park overnight? (not permitted at Wasdale I see). Love all your content!
Lovely spot that Andy, I've just had a look at my BMC/Harvey lake district map and I think I worked out where your at 😉 stunning camp 👌🏻 how are you getting on with the pro version of the x-mid? I've got the 2p solid version, I love it, I was out in mine in the peak District last night in some quite windy (and bloody cold) conditions, I'm using Easton 9 inch round pegs for the main corners and swiss piranha RT90 pegs for the rest, it really stood upto the wind really well. The tiny ultralight swiss piranha pegs are amazing, only 3 grams each, but have really good holding power, it's surprising they hold so well, check them out 👍🏻
Looks like a cracking spot mate :) I've been looking for your Bessyboot video with Paul Messner, me and my son are camping there soon, have you got a link or the title please mate?
Need to stop watching this channel. A few days ago I caught myself slipping out a bit of accent, saying "over there", and thought where the bloody hell did that come from? Ah, I know, Mr Beavers. Did make me laugh. Hahaha. Like English kids who watch too much American TH-cam and start talking in a yanky accent, we're all going to start talking in a Yorkshire accent, and that.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Like 👍412

Beautiful Andy. Such a peaceful place. The sheep are Herdwick sheep and you have to say Hey Herdy to them 😁
What a beautiful spot to climb and camp
Thanks Andy yet again another fantastic video to watch

Great spot Andy.

Nice one Andy, enjoyed this one!
Great video and thanks to Google Earth I think I've figured out where that spot is so plan on heading that way soon
Andy you've been using the Durston X-Mid Pro for a few hikes now. How have you found this single layer tent and is it something you would use all year round?
no issues at all with it & really enjoying using it..i may try get a few snow camps out in it come winter.
Always use that path you dropped onto near the end... it's the original packhorse route from Wasdale to Sty Head and beyond!
Cheers Alistair 👍
There are no secret lakes left on the lakes
Nice place mate, came across it about a year ago and what a great place to find, I actually came up the way you going down 😂, take care andy

the pro version is single skin with the mesh panels sewn in.
@@AndrewBeavers great, I thought it had an inner. Do you find you get more than usual condensation or similar to other tents with inners?
Scafell Pike is the last of the trio that i need to tick off - would be great to combine this with a wildcamp.

you'll have no problems parking at wasdale on the green there..plenty park there overnight ive done many times.

Are you in an alternate universe where the weather is nice, it’s 9 degrees and rainy and windy in the north east!
Is the rab sleeping bag the Mythic 180 or 360? Thanks
its the 180 version.
You be careful Andy! 🫣

What manner of beastie is that at 28:23 onwards, crawling over the back of the tent? 🫣🤣
Cheers,
Gary B
