He did 5 more nights after that show and died 6 weeks after. Doctors prescribed too many uppers and downers to keep him preforming. His heart couldn’t take anymore of the stress of the over prescribed medication. He died of a heart attack not an overdose only 42 years of age RIP Elvis

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 he was addicted to prescription drugs thanks to management and his doctors. He became non responsive to the increased doses so they’d increase it more. Eventually his heart gave up. If he said , I can’t do this show I’m exhausted they’d give him more drugs. He went to the bathroom to read, turned out he had got sick hit the floor and died of a heart attack. Thank you for reading that comment 👍

@@awordfrompresidentpat1985 there are a lot of different theories on what caused Elvis's death. He did have a lot of medical conditions, some even since birth which weren't discovered until the autopsy. He always carried on, so I've heard, without ever complaining about being in pain or discomfort.

@@Cath1027 No!!! That's what happened? All I heard was he died in bathroom and it was an overdose. People making jokes about his death really annoyed me. Now, that I am a fan of Elvis I am disgusted with the media. They should be spreading the good things that he did for the music and film industry instead of the lies. This is the main reason I started my channel to pay respect to the greats that are being overlooked or misrepresented by the new generation. It sounds like another example of the greedy music industry treating artist like a money machine than as a human being. Wow. That makes me love Elvis even more. Thank you so much for the information. 

You always think that if you or I had been able to talk to him without the glam and adulation, we could have saved him, talked sense into him, but sadly we wouldn't have been able to. The baggage he was carrying and the ability to make men cry even. He went home to his maker soon after. And had no need for drugs or heartbreak. Can't believe his baby daughter and grandson have joined him so soon after.

Some of my friends at school were talking about Elvis health before he died earlier that summer, I think the press must have released info about Elvis health issues after the release of the book by his bodyguards, I didn't understand any of that at that time but I knew Elvis was unwell, so why did no-one try to help him instead of abusing him by forcing him on stage? I won a radio show contest and the prize was a day with Elvis but our friendship lasted past that one day in time. All the memories of my friend are tucked safe in my heart forever. dancing and singing breaks my heart because i know he is not here anymore my mind understands but my heart never will, i saw him a few weeks before he passed we had a short conversation, which i will never share again because people are so nasty and comment hurtful heart breaking things they do not know me but they still can't keep their mouths closed about things they know nothing about. I walk past Graceland everyday without fail. i can't watch this to the end it hurts to much i hope you will watch more of his music videos. Btw Elvis was very ill in this video he was forced to do this because Parker insisted he do it. his voice never failed him he did this flawlessly using all the energy he had left. love from Memphis Tn.

It's amazing that you met and were friends with Elvis. I've always known of him and his music but never truly dug into his catalogue. The movie has really made me go deep into his history and learn about him as a person. It seems nearly universal that the people that knew Elvis, loved Elvis. What a wonderful human being we were blessed with. I hope the family has a lot of comfort from the fact that the record is being corrected and the movie "did him right." Also, he's gaining thousands upon thousands of new fans!

I think I heard your story before. Lucky person you are. That voice of gold won't soon be forgotten. He could sing every genre, anything from a lullaby to light opera and made you feel the music in your soul. I saw a story about Parker walking into to Elvis's room in Las Vegas and finding Elvis writhing in pain. Made him perform anyway. I think I might have been at that concert because Elvis asked that the spotlight be turned off as it was bothering him. His eyes were painful, I guess. His performance, pain and all, was as excellent as always.

I’ve been a massive fan all my life and his voice still moves me. There will never be another Elvis and he will always be the king. He changed music forever. I still cry like a baby whenever I watch any documentaries / films on him. Once you get to know the music get to know the man as what he did for charities and others is mind blowing. Oh you'll always get the haters, these people have problems, mainly jealousy. He was being worked like a donkey by Parker, to pay off his gambling debts and addiction, he was getting 50% of Elvis's earnings.
Elvis was a impulsive spontaneous man and got bored easily and quickly, can you imagine doing the same thing, singing the same songs, thats why even when he was enjoying his concerts in 1970 he was changing words doing silly things like putting the mike in his mouth, over and over again it must have been hell on earth, and we fans contributed by expecting the best all the time and putting him on a pedestal, a god like figure, with no way out, he couldn't have the life we have, no freedom, he was trapped in his own fame.
Thats why I think what happened was planned, or hopefully his death was faked as some think and maybe alive still.
There's so much we don't know and will never know.

Dear Mr. Pat Smith: THANK YOU! The instant the 1st word came out of Elvis... I put both my hands on my head (I don't know why) and repeated out loud "Oh my God." A few times I put my hand on my heart area to calm myself as tears streamed. When this beautiful man was on stage, he was in his zone (born to be there). This man had some kind of powerful, loving force working from within. That smile was him knowing his incredible connection to his people-that he was giving them what they wanted/needed. July 4, 2022, my 18 yr old Grandson (Coltin) shouted to me from 20 ft away... Grandmommy, you have got to go see the Elvis movie. When he was a baby, his Mom would play Elvis's love ballads to calm him to sleep. Soooo... on some level, Elvis is still alive. Now, let's talk about you. I watched an episode of Elvis Through His Eyes (The Man Of Music) last night where he said "I've always loved music. My mother and dad both loved to sing. They tell me when I was about 3 or 4 I got away from them in church and walked up in front of the choir and started beatin' time". Colonel Parker pushed him because he needed the money for his gambling. At one point Elvis was out of it and they could not wake him up at his home and the Dr gave him a shot. Parker knowing what was going on, told the men to make sure Elvis was on stage no matter what. He should had been canceling his shows and allowing him to rest. So sad that the one he trusted used him the most. His heart could not take all the abuse from the prescription drugs.

My grandparents are from Tupelo Mississippi and it is where I live. It's the birthplace of Elvis Presley. My grandmother and aunt saw him perform here at the old Tupelo fairground in 1956. I know alot about Elvis. He had an identical twin named Jesse who died at birth and is still buried here. Elvis was an only child born in a 2 room house here that bus loads of tourists still come each year to see. When he was here and very young he asked for a BB rifle for Christmas but all his father found at the hardware store here was a guitar. It is still the same hardware store and open.
His parents moved him to Memphis Tennessee where he attended High School. If you research, he as a teen joined a huge Black Church there and tried out for the choir in which he was accepted and was a choir member. The Church leaders knew there was something very special about his singing ability. He was no racist. He went into a small recording studio and paid $4 to record a song for his mother whom he loved dearly. He got a job as a truck driver at age 18. He went back and paid $4 to record the song That's alright Momma which took off like wildfire and went to number 1 and there you have it. His style was new and his own. He was the author and creator to rock and roll.
During his career he got addicted to drugs. The men around that he trusted had to make up shots with percice drugs he requested and he took injections each day before his death. His downfall was when he was drafted into the army and his mother died unexpectedly and he was never the same. His drive to succeed came from the inner quilt that he lived and his twin did not and because of the poverty of his parents who had been so poor and he wanted to better the life of his beloved mother. When she died and he wasn't there it changed him and the reason and drive to succeed was gone. He never really recovered from losing her. His life was only 42yrs and there will never be another like him. He stood for equal rights and when he sang, In the ghetto and If I could dream, he meant every word. If his female singers of color were not excepted then he would not perform and move to the next place to perform. He had a very good giving heart and bought big gifts for many people. He was unique and very special. He couldn't survive and live without his mother. He is now united with her and God Bless you Elvis as the world still mourns and loves you. As long as the world keeps turning people will remember him and love him. What a impact a poor only child born in a tiny 2 room house in Tupelo Mississippi made within only 42 years.
