You made me cry with this beautiful reaction to Elvis. You touched my heart, because I understand how you feel listening to this man. You really get him. His love of music, his love of the people around him that so expertly help him create these unforgettable moments. The joy of sharing his voice, the love he has for all people and especially his fans. Thank you so, so much.❤
What’s ahead is sad but he’s the best singer and intertainer ever and even in the future I don’t think there will ever be. Go to his gospel music. I’ve enjoyed your reaction they are very good.
The fact that he was not a well man,..He blew it out of the park. He struggled to talk,.. but when he started singing and playing,…it was like other worldly. God level performer. Long live the king. Beautiful reaction my friend.Thank you for reacting and confirming the greatest entertainer of the 20th century!!!!!
This is one of those 'classic' songs that dozens of singers, all over the world, have recorded. As others have said he was very ill here and could barely breathe and yet he gives that magnificent performance. BTW he played piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums. Check out basically any song from the '68 special. Loved your reaction. ❤
Welcome to the world of Elvis. He does not disappoint! The more you listen to him the more you will love. He has his special touch on every song he performed.
When I was 4 years old in 1975 I had the opportunity to sit in the drivers seat of the purple '56 Cadillac Elvis owned that's now in the museum in Memphis. The car wasn't in the best of shape anymore at that time, but a 4 year old wouldn't have thought anything about that. I wouldn't realize just what an incredible opportunity I had until I was in my late 20's and my mom told me how it happened. That car was near where I live in Columbus, Ga. and how I wish I had been in my 20's in '75 when it was sold to James Cantrell who fixed it up, because I would've bought it instead. LOL!
I'm always a little sad when I see this great performance. This is from june 21 1977 and he died weeks later august 16 1977. He was sick and still able to pull that voice!
this was on June 21, 1977, I saw him on June 26, 1977 at his last concert in Indianapolis. He was so sick, but kept smiling and his voice was BEAUTIFUL!! At the end of the concert he was dripping with sweat, and so weak his bodyguards had to help him down the steps of the stage. A special person.
I agree that it's better to watch Elvis perform, rather than just listen to him. I mean, I could just listen to audio of Elvis 24/7, but I agree that the two come as a package, and it's a beautiful thing to watch him perform. You just can't seem to take your eyes off him. I enjoy the reactions more when I can actually watch Elvis with the person reacting to him, if that makes any sense. 😊
that smile at the end.. he was so happy and proud, his smile said "YES, I DID IT" ... He always gave everything in himself to all of us. I'm so thankful that we have these video's, not only will his voice and music live on but they also show us HIM.. the person, not just the entertainer
His body was failing him ,by having so many ailments ,but that fantastic man never lost his voice ,his sense of humor ,that beautiful smile ,he will never be forgotten
Yes, you got it. Elvis music brings so much emotion in us (happiness and sadness all at once) this aired on TV after his death and I cry every time I see it because you can see he put his heart and soul in this song. RIP Elvis.
There are so many beautiful renditions of this song, but Elvis' performance, for me at least, is by far my favorite. It's his stage presence, his incredible voice, and his passion for every song he sings. You can see the emotion on his face, in his eyes. You can almost see him trembling while performing. Not only in this performance, but in may others too. His love for music was, and still is, unparalleled. He will always be the King. I know he hated being called that, but there is no mistake about that title given to him. It always tears at my heart to watch his performances from 1977, knowing that he would no longer be here with us, but at the same time, watching him perform brings me so much joy. I cry every time I watch this powerful performance, so forgive me if there are any typos, it's kinda difficult to see through the tears. Thank you for helping to keep the memory of this beautiful man alive. Great reaction. Take care. ❤ ps : I went back and fixed my typos before posting this.. lol.
BRO, First of all THANK YOU for your volume correction for us listeners! If you can maintain that, I for one would be happy. You know yourself, phone speakers aren't conducive any way for good listening. Please react to "How Great Thou Art", Live in Concert. First, the 1972 version, then the 1977 version weeks before his voice was stilled. THANK YOU for your heartfelt reactions! To us ELVIS fans, that always means a lot! 🤗
Thank you for your heartfelt reaction to this beautiful and sad performance. He was so ill but his love for the music and his fans gave him the strength he needed until the end. He was and remains loved so much by his fans. Rest in Peace sweet man❤️
Beautiful reaction. This one is always a little emotional to watch, knowing how near the end he was, but pushing through and still giving a powerful performance. It's why he was, and still is, so loved. A few more fantastic songs to checkout are, "If I Can Dream", "Just Pretend", and "What Now My Love".
Thank you for giving such kind respect to Elvis ♥️ He was like no other! His band were family, some were with him since his teens. You should look at old documentaries of Elvis. He was also known for his humanitarian generosity. He had a world wide impact and was just pure love deepdown in his bones.
I just rediscovered Elvis ever since that movie came out. I had so little knowledge of how great he really was. I've watched so many videos of him and I'm amazed I never had any interest. My dad actually got to meet him and got his autograph. I lived in Vegas for over forty years and my dad worked at the Sahara hotel and the International where Elvis sang. I was a fan of the Beatles back then tho lol. There's so many great videos out there of Elvis. I love his humor along with his great singing. Your reactions to him are so good cause you get him. I can't wait for more from you
I had heard Elvis, but never really listened to Elvis until I watched the new movie last year. I feel like you're following the same progression of emotions I felt when I started realizing how incredible he really was. You're absolutely in for a great ride. You haven't even scratched the surface. Enjoy, and we'll enjoy right along with you!
I cry every time i watch this! Elvis gave everything he had for his fans until the end! Being that ill and delivering a performance like that is just amazing! Rest easy dear Elvis! ❤
Yup, Elvis was the GOAT. And right to the end, just 6 weeks before he died, this performance proves it. His voice got better and better with age, almost operatic at this stage. When he did a song, he showed the audience the true potential of the song and how it should be sung, making all others who did the song before him look like amateurs even the original performers of the songs. That's what you felt and made you speechless. Great reaction.👍🏻
This was on June 21, 1977, It was Elvis's last filmed preformance, he Passed Away on August 16, 1977 Just a few weeks later from a heartattack. He had been I'll for quite awhile and should have been in the hospital. This preformance always makes me cry. He gave us his all till the very end. ❤😢 His best Preformance of this song was 4 months before his Death on April 24, 1977 Live in Ann Arbor Michigan it's Audio Only but I would love it if you would React to that preformance as well: Elvis Presley UNCHAINED MELODY Official Lyric Video Thank You for your Kind reaction. UnchaIned Melody was first recorded in 1955 and appeared in a Prison Movie called Unchained. On getting Song Video's un Blocked....find a picture of a night sky filled with stars and make the song video transparent enough for the stars to show through, this usually gets accepted and isn't so cluttered that you can't still see the preformance. Hope this Helps.
I'm crying buckets as I find this a very difficult watch knowing that he was so ill and would be dead in a couple of months. He knocks it out of the park!! ❤
I enjoy both Elvis's and Righteous Brothers' renditions equally, I consider them to be completely different songs. Elvis's version sounds so emotional with a deep sad longing feeling, the Righteous Brothers' version feels like a hopeful reunion.
Elvis' voice was still great but he couldn't talk and express himself clearly and band introductions were longer and longer. I did watch the whole show a couple of months ago. Very first time since 1977 when I was sixteen only. I was already collecting Elvis' vinyl albums and I still do. Not long ago bought 29 albums but half of them I already had... 🖖
Loved your reaction to this phenomenal performance by Elvis, I agree with everything you said. I love the way he interpreted music. I agree with watching him not just listen. There are many of his performances where the live version is way better than the studio version.
Knowing that less then 2 months later we lost him, his voice never left him even then. I watch this and I just want to hold him, to find the right words or actions to save him.. RIP Elvis
Part of me hates watching Elvis sing this song. It makes me sob every single time. And yet I watch it often because he sang it so beautifully and passionately. Many of the young are hitching onto the "Elvis train" for the views without truly understanding the power of this man's live performances and his vocal range. I'm so very glad for your heartfelt reactions. Everytime you're surprised by a performance it makes me smile.
Love your amazing reactions. I’m glad you can see his great love for music, and talent. I think you should check out song from his 68 comeback special. Trying to Get to you, are you lonesome tonight, one night with you , love me tender, you’ll see yet another side of Elvis. Coolest man who ever lived
Please react to american trilogy from the aloha from hawii concert and also youve lost that loving feeling live ! This performance was just 6 weeks before his untimely death such a loss😢
The extreme physical pain this man was in during this time in his life is unfathomable. I just read a book called destined to die Young were the author did extensive research of his medical records, family history, and she laid out everything that is known thus far. He was battling leukemia of the bone marrow at this time and was in active stage of heart failure during this performance, which to me, makes me love this performance even more as morbid as that sounds. You’re watching a man dig deep to give his fans everything. Elvis Presley was the strongest man and it motivates me to endure anything that is painful, emotionally and physically, he’s an inspiration. This is a moment in history that should always be cherished. PS Charlie Hodge is the fucking man!!
I absolutely love watching you react to the King would love to see you do What Now My Love, Just Pretend and I'll Remember You just a few you will love this rabbit hole and I will love watching your journey with him ❤
despite being incredibly ill and only 8 weeks from dying elvis always showed up and delivered for his fans giving love and sharing his heart to the very end a man who truly lived his entire life in service of others people like elvis only come down the road **once** an incredible man & an amazing humanitarian that's why 46 yrs after his death his legacy of music and love from his fans live on ♡ thank you :) pls give "just pretend" live in vegas 1970 a look 🙏
Elvis didn't write his music.. he just would sing a song like no one else. This makes me sad because Elvis was not looking good. He died a few weeks later.. His voice is iconic to this day.. Don't ever mess with Elvis Presley.. the King.
Thank you for all your wonderful Elvis reactions ❤ Sucha beautiful song. Elvis voice is out of this world. I'll say as The Sweet Inspirations did, he was an angel sent from God. And Charlie (Charlie Hodge) he met Elvis in the army. And lived at Graceland for 17 years until Elvis died 😢 Rest in peace Elvis. Always and forever The King ❤ 👑
I have to admit, it is a thrill for me to watch you discover Elvis. I was alive when Elvis was alive. I was buying his records and learning all his songs. I guess I take it for granted sometimes that this was a man who walked among us but whose talents were just unbelievably amazing. His tone, his tempo, his style, and his power vocally, is just, awe inspiring. Elvis never wrote any of his songs, so, yes, this was a Righteous Brothers song which Elvis covered and once again just knocked it out of the park. And to think, this man only had 7 weeks left to live when he PERFORMED THIS! He truly was otherworldly!
Loved your reaction Elvis's version is the best always sends chills through me to think he was so ill weeks later he was gone but the legend lives on think it'll always will thank you 😊
Elvis didn't read "notes" he played by ear. He never had voice or guitar lessons either. Elvis had God-given talents but he worked hard in order to put them all together! He really wanted to sing in a Gospel Quartet but he couldn't harmonize at the time! God had a bigger roll for Elvis to play. He loved all kinds of music, but Gospel was always his favorite! Elvis would sing something Gospel at his Rock-N-Roll concerts!
He was so tired and so sick but his voice never failed him! A few weeks he left us for a better place! We will always miss him and ❤️ 😍 💖 love him!! Thank you for what you are doing!
You're speechless reaction to Elvis Presley's version of this song just made me tear up so bad, because you FELT the immense & beautiful heartfelt feelings he sung this song with. Righteous Brothers version was absolutely beautiful, but Elvis Presley's version was just absolutely jaw dropping. Thank you so much for your reaction because I've never been able to put it into words just like you!!! Thank you!!!
I am so grateful for these reaction videos. Ive been an Elvis fan for nearly 50 years and it has been painful to see the prejudices and false accusations blemishing his image and legacy. He was a beautiful person that brought so much joy to millions during his lifetime. And because he was so far beyond any other performer, before or after, people of today cant even fathom the talent, the charm, the charisma, that he had. These reaction videos, I believe, expose a whole new generation or 2, to the real deal...Not just the pop culture caricatures
The essence of Elvis is probably gospel music. He often transforms songs into a gospel-tinged sound. Here, his arpeggios on the piano, the big voice, and the passion and care to communicate feelings, suggest he was again going beyond just the surface meaning of a pop song.
Check out Elvis gospel music none better he truly sings like an angel Elvis is brilliant know one comes close to him because of his passion for music and people
Pls, watch "you've lost that Lovin' Feeling" by Elvis and "mystery train/Tiger man" by Elvis. The First Song is covered by Elvis. The Second Song is a medley
Elvis died 7 weeks after this was recorded. The tv special was not aired till after his death. It is very hard for the fans from that time to watch this performance. When ever I see a picture of him dressed in the Mexican Dial jumpsuit it gives me a sad vibe.
This song was originally written for a 1955 movie - Unchained. Hence the name of the song Unchained Melody. The movie was about a guy in a medium security prison, so the prisoners aren't chained up. Anyway, his time is about to be up and he's wondering if when he gets out, if his wife and family will still be there for him. The only indication in the song of it being related to a prisoner is when the lyrics say "And time goes by so slowly," it's referring to how time in prison goes by slowly to those incarcerated. This song was a hit in the 50's by various artists. Then the Righteous Brothers (only Bobby Hatfield) sang it. Bobby's live version is the one considered to be the best ever. However, Elvis did an amazing job. It's sad to know that he died just a couple of weeks after he sang this song for the first time.
As sick as he was he still had an amazing voice you'd never think that he was near the end of his life hearing him singing this so sad that he died just 2 months later on Aug 16 1977
I cried at your reaction Sir. I’m sure you were told by now that he performed this 6 weeks before he passed. It makes me cry every time I see this. He was so sick here and yet he loved music so much, he could sing this way while he was sick and dying. People around him used to say he’d sing all the time. Around the house, in the car etc. They said he was like a bird who never stopped singing. There’s a funeral line up on the street when he died and one video as they’re showing it play Black Limousine which was a song he sang. It’s quite touching. The Elvis Blockbuster movie shown last yr ends with him singing this and the actor singing this(Elvis’s voice) gets morphed into the real Elvis singing this is so emotional and done artistically beautiful that every time I saw it in the theater there was just sobbing. I let out one of those sob hiccups and was so embarrassed 😂😂until I realized everyone else was crying. I expected it every time and yet never once could I not cry because the director put such beauty in the ending. It’s on streaming if you’d like to see it. You’ll learn quite a bit about his life and the influence of Gospel music and the Black influences on his life. His friendship with BB King and others. He actually sang in a black choir recalled by a pastor in the documentary on U tube called Elvis and the Black Community: The Echo Never Dies, Part one. whom many people have reacted to. Thank you for showing this. It really is so bittersweet to watch. ❤❤
He sang this song along with "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain" the morning of his death, almost 6 weeks after this show. His cousin Billy Smith said they had played racquetball at Elvis' court at Graceland. He had dressing rooms, a bar area, the courts and a lounge area. There was also a piano there and Elvis sang those songs that morning before going back to the house to go to bed.
When he walks to the piano notice how quiet the audience is then he says how do like it so far he always had them in the palm of his had and he was one of a kind "pure" talent he knew who he was and was that for people and when he would rent the movie theater out and have Priscilla and the Mafia go with him it is said that he would go out and use the restroom and had several ring on and when he back he had no ring on anymore no money in his wallet because he was give everything to people who needed it what a person
This one hurts to watch knowing he died not much longer after. I live in West Tennessee...and believe me, it was a shock. I can remember watching the funeral procession on TV. He died the day before my 16th birthday...46 years later I still remember that day clearly.
Good video bro, I've always known about Elvis but I too recently gone down that rabbit hole. He is quite different when you watch him perform live as opposed to listening to him on the radio. So emotional and moving.
You are correct, my friend. It was beautiful. Myrna Smith was 1 of The Sweet Inspirations. She was confused as to why he hired them. She said he had a vision, and it was beautiful. She was correct, and so are you. Peace
Love, love your reaction. Love how you are really getting to see h8s greatness l Please do reaction on Elvis * How Great Thou Art (Live 1977] That was 8 weeks prio4 to his death. Gospel was his favorite music.
If you listen closely he says I'm going for it or I'm hitting it before the big note at end. I truly think he knew and he gave us all he had that last performance. 😢😢😢
I lip read,Elvis was asking Charlie Hodge to help him with it,as Charlie often sang harmony with him.To think Elvis thought he needed Charlie to help him and then produce that performance as I'll as he was is mind blowing.
Someone recommended "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" which is a great song but know that there is a version where someone deleted the marvelous raspiness & crack in his voice @ beginning which ruined how he sounded -- so if you're going to do it, do th-cam.com/video/QTLjMiEJwq4/w-d-xo.html -- & the picture quality is amazing. Regarding the blocking issue, maybe you can do it in such a way where it is only very slightly blocked but we can see the performance well enough. Thank you.
You are such a beautiful spirit, and I am so glad that you get why Elvis was and is such an historical figure. As it's true, because he was white, he was the first major rock n roll star. But, too, you can learn, that he went through hell because of that and received death threats and all other type of deterrents yet fought on. But I believe you would now agree, that it wasn't because he was the world's first superstar that he is remembered, but it's because of performances like this. Honestly, too, I love seeing your heart and enjoyment and happiness after watching a performance, I wish we were best friends!!! When, truthfully, I guess with the internet bringing us all together we could be. As after watching you now, several times, I want to say - honestly - I totally love you as a fellow human being. God bless you, my friend! ~ Christopher Tyler
He was so sick, many have referred to the "Elvis Presley Destined to Die Young" book by Sally Hoedel. She shows the real problems he had all his life resulting from his mother parents who were first cousins. Back in the old south it was often done, but late people found that it really caused inbreeding problems. Elvis combination of genes was not normal. He was an Alpha 1 Gene which is rare but some do inherit it. His mother died at 46, and her two brothers were also in their 40's when they died. She had liver disease, and heart problems and weight issues. Elvis was born with a twisted colon, in 1935 and seldom got medical care, they were dirt poor. He had Liver disease, and an enlarged heart. He had early onset Glaucoma when he first started in Vegas. He actually had eye surgery to save one eye. It went largely un noticed by the public. When he runs off state in the tour vids he has someone on each arm leading him off the stage. The bloating was part of the liver disease, the book even states that had he never taken a pill he still would have died young. He told singer Katy Westmoreland he'd be died by 40. Anyway for a little perspective on why he looked so different, but sang like an angel. Thank you for your gracious reaction.
This is exactly why his fans will always be fans..he is a legend absolutely no one will ever come close to his talent and personal touch to all genres of music ..enjoy your journey with him and his music..you should react to some of his gospel which is where his voice will make your cry
Seven weeks later he was with the Lord. He was very blessed with so many natural skills that no other single musician ever had.
Well said

This is the most eloquently spoken reaction to an Elvis video that I've seen so far, and I've seen a lot. Thank you for your appreciation of Elvis.
I tear up every time I see this...😢. He was so sick...yet he sang so beautifully! His range was unbelievable! ❤🙏

Beautiful reaction!!❤ even when he was not well, he gave his all. You just feel his heart and soul in every song
Elvis gave 1000% even to the last concert that's why he's THE KING and still loved today by the young and old and every thing in between ❤❤❤

And he never had a guitar or piano lesson in his life. He died two months after this performance. He was and always will be the BEST of everything!!!
The greatest entertainer of all times. This show was 6 weeks before he went to Heaven.
8 weeks actually. (56 days between 21st June and 16th August 1977) but wholeheartedly agree, THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER EVER.♥
He was a very , very special man ... TCB forever !

On getting Song Video's un Blocked....find a picture of a night sky filled with stars and make the song video transparent enough for the stars to show through, this usually gets accepted and isn't so cluttered that you can't still see the preformance. Hope this Helps.
Elvis was and IS THE BEST SINGER ON THE PLANET! HIS VOICE IS Straight from Heavenly Father to us. We were blessed !!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He gave us everything he had for as long as he could....❤❤❤❤
Knowing that less then 2 months later we lost him, his voice never left him even then.
Nobody sings this song like him.
Wow. What a reaction. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
He was not well here but he never lost his voice! He died six weeks after this! ❤
Oh, my bad 8 weeks! Gone too soon!
I watch and listen to this about 624 times so far.
Wow, I can certainly see why. It was absolutely amazing to be a part of. There was no way that one time was enough.
I absolutely love watching you react to the King would love to see you do What Now My Love, Just Pretend and I'll Remember You just a few you will love this rabbit hole and I will love watching your journey with him ❤
despite being incredibly ill and only 8 weeks from dying elvis always showed up and delivered for his fans
giving love and sharing his heart to the very end
a man who truly lived his entire life in service of others
people like elvis only come down the road **once**
an incredible man &
an amazing humanitarian
that's why 46 yrs after his death his legacy of music and love from his fans live on ♡
thank you :)
pls give "just pretend" live in vegas 1970 a look 🙏
Elvis didn't write his music.. he just would sing a song like no one else. This makes me sad because Elvis was not looking good. He died a few weeks later.. His voice is iconic to this day.. Don't ever mess with Elvis Presley.. the King.
Thank you for all your wonderful Elvis reactions ❤
Sucha beautiful song. Elvis voice is out of this world. I'll say as The Sweet Inspirations did, he was an angel sent from God.
And Charlie (Charlie Hodge) he met Elvis in the army. And lived at Graceland for 17 years until Elvis died 😢
Rest in peace Elvis.
"Pure Beautiful" Perfect reaction!
This is so sad he passed not even 2 months later. There’s no one that can touch this man. He’s the King for a reason true professional until the end.
He is not the original artist, but everything he touches goes gold.
The stage is the place he was happy
Pavarotti said Elvis could sing like him but he couldn't sing like Elvis!
The essence of Elvis is probably gospel music. He often transforms songs into a gospel-tinged sound. Here, his arpeggios on the piano, the big voice, and the passion and care to communicate feelings, suggest he was again going beyond just the surface meaning of a pop song.
Check out Elvis gospel music none better he truly sings like an angel Elvis is brilliant know one comes close to him because of his passion for music and people
WowGod, sprinkled him.. till the very end!!!
If you like what he's doing with a righteous brothers song you should try "You've lost that loving feeling" 1970 live from Las Vegas - pure passion!
Pls, watch "you've lost that Lovin' Feeling" by Elvis and "mystery train/Tiger man" by Elvis. The First Song is covered by Elvis. The Second Song is a medley
Gotta love how this left this man totally speechless, don't know what to say following the song❤❤
Your lack of words said “everything!” ❤️
You are a kind and sensitive soul. God bless you!
Elvis Presley Was Well Known In Pop Rock Country And Gospel His Voice Is Amazing
You get!! That's great!! He was THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER AND GREATEST HUMANITARIAN OF ALL TIME!! RIP ELVIS
Estava muito doente, mas com a voz impecável ❤
Good video bro, I've always known about Elvis but I too recently gone down that rabbit hole. He is quite different when you watch him perform live as opposed to listening to him on the radio. So emotional and moving.
You are correct, my friend. It was beautiful. Myrna Smith was 1 of The Sweet Inspirations. She was confused as to why he hired them. She said he had a vision, and it was beautiful. She was correct, and so are you. Peace
Please react to If I Can Dream in white suit and Love Letters ❤
Love, love your reaction. Love how you are really getting to see h8s greatness l
Please do reaction on Elvis
* How Great Thou Art (Live 1977]
That was 8 weeks prio4 to his death.
No one sings it like this he was sick here no one like Elvis ❤❤❤
This felt like he was singing to his God .
He has blessed us all with his music …and his voice and himself that’s his true legacy
Unchained melody was so beautiful.
