Can 1 Berserkers beat 20 Eastern Infantries, if the Eastern Infantries have golden weapons and armor and +9 experience?
Combatants: 1 x Berserkers vs. 20 x ultimate pink pajama boys
Terrain: Grasslands
Players: Both sides are controlled by human player
Tactics: Not allowed

@@eplus341 dunno about this one tbh, if I remember correctly pyjama boys have worse stamina than berserkers so it'll be a death sentence for them again. But if you implying about exhausting them by using only one pyjama unit and running around the map, then jumping half naked German men using other units

Eastern Infantry are in the Parthian army roster. Infantry are trash but damn do their cavalry make up for it.
@@Warmaker01 Not when it comes to sieges. I understand Parthia is supposed to have weaker Infantry then average but CA went too far in trying to make them different to the point it just made them unnecessarily weaker to the point Parthia does nothing in the campagin thanks to their very lacking early roster.

@@qualityoldgames7721 I'm talking about AI. The player can win with any faction but the AI always struggles to do anything with Parthia in the campaign.
Perhaps the most dreadful thing about all this is imagining the sheer amount of effort it would take in campaign to produce an army of perfectly upgraded, nine experience eastern spearmen (a difficult unit to get experience on at all) only to watch them get wiped out by a single level of basic berserkers.

Luckily for berserker they don't have much of health. If not, then it will be like an elephant unit charging into 20 peasant units.

I love parthia. Their horse archers are astounding, but their second tier horse archers are basically unstoppable. Long range archers on horseback can even decimate ordinary horse archers, which are usually like an SS tier unit.
The pajama boys are for public order purposes and also parking in the city center where there is infinite morale, and huddling around your generals to protect the general and get a morale bonus so they don't flee as much.
They're never going to do a LOT of kills unless they are attacking light cavalry that is too dumb to flee, and even then, they won't be amazing. The whole point of these boys isn't to fight good melee infantry and kill it, it is to keep other spears, cavalry, or melee infantry away from your much more important general while your cavalry wrecks everyone's shit.
Which your cavalry can do, without any real support from infantry, and you don't need additional missile units. Parthia's unit balance is just fine given how strong their cavalry is.
If Parthia had really good spearmen they would be far, far more broken than Germania or Rome is.

Are they supposed to be Persians? The Persians were good soldiers and were very powerful at one point. They usually won their battles, the Greeks only hade a golden age against the Persians for 20 years or so, usually the Persians were victorious.

@qualityoldgames7721 Thanks, I personally don't like the 300 film. I view it, amongst others to be a little racist. Have you ever heard of Cyrus II the great? People only tend to focus on the Greeks when it comes to the Persians, but their empire stretched from India to Egypt and lasted thousands of years.

Even back when RTW was new in the mid-2000s, I rarely played vanilla. I was usually using Rome Total Realism at the time. This video made me remember just how colorful and crazy the physics were in vanilla RTW 😂

While this spectacle is hilarious, if you're not a user of Parthia or familiar with this game, you're looking at an extreme example.
I would say fairly that these spearmen are the worst spearmen in the game. They do have bad morale and stats. However, in game, all short-spearmen, that is to say, non-pikemen spearmen, are nerfed when fighting infantry that do not have short spears. That includes pikemen, axemen, swords, whatever else is not spears.
If Germania were stupid enough to bring berserkers to fight parthia, this battle would never happen. Parthia has long range horse archers. These berserkers... would literally all be dead before they killed a single soldier in Parthia's army.
The pajama boys did poorly, very poorly, comically poorly, but they still killed some berserkers. The berserkers wouldn't even be able to touch your pajama men if there were horse archers on the field. They'd have zero kills.
Zero. It's an even worse curb stomp battle than what you're seeing here. Horse archers counter berserkers hard, harder than the berserkers are countering the pajama boys here. All you have to do is be a moderate distance away, and you win. Not only that, these are the elite long range horse archers that can actually counter foot archers. The foot archers cannot fire while moving, the horse archers can, and the horse archers outrange them. Germany therefore has no counter to Parthia's horse archers. Not their slow moving warband spearmen, not these berserkers, not their foot archers, not their melee cavalry, nothing. All of that is severely outclassed and outmatched by long range horse archers.
If you're thinking Parthia sucks and is a useless faction because of their admittedly bad tier 1 spear infantry, that's a bit like thinking Rome sucks because their peasants can't fight. Or Germania sucks because the screeching women aren't the best in prolonged melee. It's not the full picture.
The full picture is parthia can probably defeat the entirety of Germania on the campaign map and in battle without losing even one soldier, including pajama boys, to anything Germany does. I'm talking Germania would not be able to take a single city, would lose every single battle, and the only realistic casualties you might take are friendly fire from your own horse archers being clustered up too much.
As broken as this matchup is from Germany's best infantry unit versus Parthia's equivalent of peasants, the one sided fight between their tier 1 horse archers and this unit of berserkers would be boring to witness. The Berserkers would never touch them and die before they get more than a few feet. The horse archers would not lose a single man unless their leader was incompetent and bunched them up. That's with stuff parthia can build in their weakest tier of cavalry, against Germany's best.
The TLDR is that if Parthia's spearmen were as good as Germany's spear warband, or even mid tier, people would ban Parthia competitively, because it would outclass every other faction by quite a bit.
Other elite specialty units like Egypt's war chariots and archer chariots and Briton's chariots, almost all other horse archers, every single kind of melee infantry, and almost all kinds of missile units, can do nothing to Parthia's tier 2 horse archers. Can't even touch em.
If you think Parthia is broken, it is, but not in the direction you think based on this video. Thank goodness Parthia has bad spearmen at tier 1. It's your only chance.
